Allsky 7,

I believe Cory Sedlar played behind a quarterback named Bristow who was a first round baseball draft pick.  I don'e know if he went Division I baseball or straight into professional baseball.  Either way Mr. Bristow was an elite athlete.  As I think you said in a previous post "timing is everything."

Justin Bristow would have graduated one year ahead of Sedlar.  Justin went to Auburn to play baseball and is currently a junior at ECU.  Exceptional baseball player who should have a shot at the pros one day.  So, not sure why Sedlar would not have played as a senior at Godwin.

Thanks for the info 78.  Perhaps Sedlar was just a late bloomer?  ??? Unless there was another stud at Godwin his Sr. year.

Hmmmmm.  Well how about this?  Might be making road trips near the end of October and beginning of November.  Greensboro and Bridgewater (haven't been to Bridgewater since college).  This could happen.

Had to dump the latest incarnation of Jacketlawyer-ette.  Tonight.   You're welcome for the Jerry Springer aroma to the board (thankyaverrrymuch).  Might need some Stone Station lovin'. . . . as I root my Jackets to victory! 8)

Just tossin' that out there boys.  Sorry!

I feel your pain my Jacket friend.  Year....year and a half....two years tops is about all I can get out of them.  :o Something always seems to change around the year mark.  Sure am glad D3 athletics and a cold beer is one constant you can always count on!! ;)

Yeah, well put.  I think what you just wrote was what I was trying to express.  I'm thankful for my DIII football. :)

And oh yeah, cold beer! 8)

He wasn't a late bloomer.  He was a senior the same year as Bristow and graduated in 2005.

Sedlar went to JMU for a year, but used none of his NCAA athletic eligibility before transferring to HSC last year.

The ODAC is strong this year and it will go down to the wire to see who will be crowned Champ !
I am a HSC fan and we have a great shot this year after beating Bridgewater. Even though we beat BC, I am smart enough to know you can never count them out. They are a very well coached team and they never beat themselves.
Guilford has a great offense and NOBODY can keep them from putting up 30 points or more. HSC has a great offense as well.
If either of this teams had a Solid " D "....it would be lights out !!
Macon is much improved and so is Catholic.
W & L is always tuff and don't let their loss to Macon fool you.
Its going to be very interesting to see how the second half of the season unfolds...........GO TIGERS !!!

Hey, tigerftblfan.  You're right, the ODAC does seem to be very balanced this year.  HSC appears to have a huge head start with wins over BC and GC, but I don't think they'll go 6-0.  I also very much look forward to the rest of the season!  Go Quakers!

Or maybe it depends ON the weather or if you are under the weather or whether or not there is someone to assist you as to whether or not you get up!! How's that for a run on sentence? :D And speaking of weather....we need rain desperately here in Central Virginia. And I don't just mean for my kayaking pleasure either.  ;D Any prayer...rain dances...seeding the clouds...etc. would be greatly appreciated.  ;)

I have seen HSC'S Corey Sedlars name come up on the board.
At the start of the season Cory was #2 on the depth chart at QB.
The starter Craig Warnement got suspended for 3 games and its no chance he will get his job back.
Sedlar has stepped up and showed he can play big at this level.
The kid has shown a lot of poise and does not appear to get rattled easy.
He got off to a shakey start in the loss to Hopkins, but this was not his fault at all, because the offensive line forgot to show up that day !
Now that the Mules are playing up to par.....Sedlar is on a roll.
Of course, being surrounded by many talented players at the skill positions, this makes it easier on him.

Yeah, Sedlar's been great.  Sounds as though Warnement is the next Wally Pipp.

Hey tiger....you're new round these parts aren't ya?  :D Just kidding!  ;) Welcome to the board. We had a discussion about Warnement and Simpson back before the season started. I have followed Tiger football pretty closely for 35+ years and know quite a few folks down Farmville way. Oddly, to my knowledge there has been no official statement about their situation. Perhaps it's one of those deals where they were suspended for undisclosed reasons....end of story. I hope justice has been served and these two young men have learned a valuable life lesson. Now lets get on with kicking some Wasp butt!!  ;) GO TIGERS!!

H-S 34    Off day for the Tiger O ONLY putting up 34. Give credit to the Wasp D
E&H 24   My gut says the Wasp only score 17 but am giving the benefit of the doubt. The Tiger D is better than it
appears. They have played several very good offensive football teams.

Allsky,

I have seen all of the Tiger games this year.  I would agree that the difference in the success of the Tigers lies in two areas.  One a more consistent offense with multiple weapons. And second is a defense that is improved both in team speed and sure tackling.  Both ODAC victories came as a result of outstanding offensive production and one or two key defensive stops in the second half of each games.  In years past, the Tigers relied on out scoring opponents only.  They still must put up good numbers, but a second half stop against Guilford and two 4th quarter stops against Bridgewater were key in each of those wins.  They are not at the point where the defense will win games, but they are creating more turnovers this year.

I am looking forward to the game this weekend to see how the Tigers handle the Wasps.  Keep up with the info.  It is good to read about the Tigers on this board.

I agree. So far, they are making plays when they have to. Just read in the Farmville Herald that the Tigers lead the ODAC defensively in total TO's (11) and TO ratio. (+2.2)  If the O remains consistent and the D continues to improve....WATCH OUT!!  ;)
The only two games I have seen in person were Gettysburg and BC. As I stated then, the Gettysburg game was the best over all game I have seen the Tigers play in several years. They totally dominated GC. Apparently, the Bullets are a pretty solid team. I fully expect a battle in Emory tomorrow. To win the ODAC, the Tigers will have to win on the road against quality teams. The Wasp will certainly be just that.  8)
