The horror.....one might expect such from a Yellow Jacket but not from a Tiger!!  :D :D

The sap is rising baby....can you feel it?!? GOOOO TIGERS!!

Allsky, we should hang out at the Game for a bit, since I can't get you and Skoal to come to the Dahlia with me for a few cold chillies. ;)
You could get me out there if I was ever invited?  I would love to attend the game but I've got a major tailgate planned at my home in Lynchburg.  Supporting the Local Lynchburg Kiwanis Club by doing a Lobster Boil.  They are coming in Saturday.  I'm surprised Jacketlawyer isn't invovled in this?

Good luck to both teams.  I'll be listening back and forth between this game and the BC/Catholic game.  Sounds like it's anyones game.  It will be interesting to see/hear the outcome.

Jacketlawyer? I guess we'll need to catch up soon.  The new Brewery downtown is not far off from being open.

Well I'll be D.......speaking of the devil. Did you say microbrewery my man? I am a beer snob summa cum laude.  ;D

You get a karma for helping the Kiwanis.  My Pops has sold a lot of those lobsters.  But I have to be in Ashland this this weekend, which I know you understand.

Guess you, me and Allsky will have to break in the new microbrewry!!  Tough job, but someone's gotta do it. 8)

Notice:  Tickets will be sold for The Game, they will only go on sale before the game (no pre-selling), and there will be a limited amount of them.  That is the latest news that I've heard.  I'll keep all posted if I learn more.

Day field has a capacity of 4,000. It will be interesting to see if they cut off tickets at any point. Any idea what time they start selling?

I understand your situation.  I'll keep you posted on the MicroBrewery.  It's supposed to be a nice one!  I'll buy you and Allsky a drink or 3. Good Luck to both teams this coming weekend at "The Game."  I hope it lives up to all the hype.  I'm sorry I'm going to miss it.

And yes Allsky.  Filling the emotional bank account for the Stagg Bowl!

HSC'S first game loss to Hopkin's was due to a couple factors.
First of all Josh Simpson being suspended and not playing hurt us...sure !
The reason is the O-line had a very bad game which is understandable because this years unit was very young and not much experiance.
Hopkin's stayed in the backfield the whole game disrupting everything.
Sedlar never had a chance to even sit his feet in that game.
There was just a lot of misasignments. But thats ok also because like I said, the O-line was young and confused. But, after a butt chewing and a long hard week of practice they have improved every game since.
As any football fan knows.....Games are won in the trenches by line play.
Yeah........THE MULES !! They get so very little credit, but that is where games are won and lost !

I also wanted to ask...

Any chance that the loser of the R-MC vs. H-SC gets a pool C bid???

No. If Macon had beaten Frostburg State things would be different on that front.

I believe tickets will go on sale around 10:00 or so.  Capacity of Day Field is around 4,000, but lining up around the field (which they did my freshman year) and big stands on the opposite sideline (whcih are already there) should increase the capacity drastically.  Also, the tailgate will be in full swing.

Beer snob, you say? Now you sound like my kind of guy. Have you ever been to Oregon? This is great beer country. Portland has more microbreweries than any other city in the country and we are spoiled. If you want to have a claim to fame, it might as well be for beer.

Closest I have been to Portland is N CA. Consider visiting Portland officially on my list of things to do before I die. Perhaps I can stop by and hoist a pint or two on my way to Alaska. Another thing high on my list.  ;)

Yellowjacket....I don't know how many folks they can officially seat at Day Field but unless they cut off ticket sales, I'd bet the farm there will be 10k+ people there tomorrow. They say there were 14k at the 100th game. I was at that game. I don't know if there were 14k or not but it was the biggest crowd I have ever seen at Death Valley in 35+ years of following H-S football. I realize Day Field doesn't have as much room but I can't imagine the interest level in this game not being at least as high. Tiger and Jacket fans have been waiting quite some time for a game as big as this one. I don't want to get too carried away with the hype but this may be the biggest game ever. Wonder if they considered bringing in extra bleachers? I hope Ashland is ready because here we come baby!!   GO TIGERS!!

They definitely are bringing in bleachers for the visiting sidelines.

Extra bleachers are being brought in. For example, I am told that there will be bleachers in the end zones. However, I expect that The Game will be standing room only. So if you want a seat, I would suggest getting there early.

Naw.....no seat needed here. Walking the sidelines is the beauty of D3 football. Course....I suspect it will be 8-10 deep (at least) all the way around the field. I'll have to work my way to the front like I do at concerts.  ;) :D I am just concerned about the seating because I want all R-M fans to be able to see the butt whooping the Jackets are going to get tomorrow.   ;D WOW.....did allsky7 really just lay on some smack?!?!  :o :o So unlike him.  :-[  GO TIGERS!!!!

Tomorrow will be a great day.  I know the R-M staff is working very hard to get things arranged.  Glad to see them put in the bleachers on the other side, but it will be standing room only, and as Allsky said, 8-10 people deep.

Definitely a good time to put those concert crowd skills to work. 8)
