Good luck to H-SC in the NCAA's.

For the Jackets a very dissapointing end to a much better season.

You were not at the goal line but I suspect there were at least 2 officials who were .  Who would have had the better look?
TXMike, I know what you're saying, so that's why I qualified my remarks.  The officials have a hard job and I respect that.  Ostensibly, the officials had the best view of the goal line, but it seemed as though they were not "in the game."  You had to be there to understand how they mismanaged much of the game, especially the bizarre series that ended the 3rd quarter and began the 4th.  I still don't understand what that was all about.

Actually, 27.  That is tough.

Yes, your description of what happened at the end of the 3d is very strange.  I'd like to know the facts of that one.

Hasa, I know you are a very happy man tonight and I'm happy for you and your fine Guilford team.  E&H Dad
Hi, e h dad, I think "relieved" might be the operative word.  I could easily have seen us folding the tent and going home 5-5, 1-5 when we missed so many scoring chances and E&H had 1st and goal inside the 5 with a 17-14 lead.  No matter who you were rooting for, it was an exciting game.  Yes, I am quite happy the Quakers salvaged a 6-4, 2-4 season and avoided last place.  In addition to being a good send-off for the Seniors, it will make for a positive off-season for the returning players.  As always, a few consecutive winning seasons also helps player retention and recruiting.

A saw a lot of positive things from E&H today.  I was impressed with your running game and the QB made some good throws.  Your kicking game was also pretty good.  The Defense was also solid despite the 4th quarter 96-yard drive by the Quakers.   Trust me, in most games the Quakers will get more than 21.  I know you are disappointed, but I also saw a team that should have been better than 4-6, 1-5.  Hang in there!  Peace

Well, a lot of things I do are fuzzy, but it looks as though your karma has been bumped from 2 to 3.  If it's less than the number of fingers on my hand, I usually nail the math.  :)

This reminds me of a Joan Rivers routine.  She said she once dated a guy who was so dumb he couldn't count to 21 unless he took off his pants.  lol

Congratulation's to my beloved HSC Tiger's on winning the 2007 ODAC Championship !
We were hitting on all cylinder's and came out full throttle to open the game
Also Congrad's to RMC on a great year. You guys hold you're head's high because you have nothing to be ashamed of.
What a crowd in Ashland, Va today.....All the fan's brought a lot of energy.
And I must add that RMC was a class act today. All RMC people I ran across today were very friendly and more than willing to help me out on any questions that I had.
Let's go Tigers and keep it rolling....We have been underdogs all year and refused to listen to all the doubters.....Great Job Guy's !
GO TIGERS !!!

It's whether you get up !

Congrats to BC on their win today. Their MVP was Scott Ruebush. Seven punts and each one was placed inside the 20. I can't remember seeing a game like that from a punter.
Catholic looks to have played an awful 2nd half. Ending up with 6 turnovers certainly explains the second half scoring differential. Hopefully next year the Cards can lift the BC monkey off of their back.

Thanks to the 8 Catholic seniors for their efforts over the years. You guys have helped keep the program alive. A 5-5 record for a team with only 8 seniors is an impressive feat. Hopefully next year will see another improvement for a team that should have its best senior class in a long time.

IMO, why Macon has been so successful; they take care of the ball, and they have a bend but don't break defense.

Zak Thornton has touched the ball 319 times so far this season, and has coughed it up only twice. That's pretty darn good (and lucky).

If you look at the stats, they are very one dimensional. But nationally, not even that impressive.

They are 45th (out of 231) in rushing offense and 193rd in passing offense. But being ranked 27th in turnover margin is the key.

And defensively, sure, they're 32nd in points allowed, but they still give up 317 yards a game (81st, nationally).

Although five of their eight wins were by 12 points or less, they haven't had an opponent score more than 25 on them all year. And seven of their nine opponents didn't score more than 17.

They've played in a lot of close games, which certainly helps them. But it will be interesting to see against H-SC (or even a playoff game or two) how well  the Jackets play if/when they get down by a couple scores. Only three times have they been losing during a game by a touchdown (twice against Frostburg, once against Hopkins). Never have they been down by more than that.

I think that Sydney will get up by a couple scores and R-MC won't be able to counter it. R-MC hasn't faced this creative of a team all year. The best offenses they have faced -- Guilford and Bridgewater -- are also very one dimensional teams, so it was easier to prepare for. H-SC, however, will throw a lot of different looks at them.

My prediction; H-SC 31, R-MC 20

I'm rarely correct (see ODAC pick 'em), but I nearly nailed this game.

The Jackets got down 14-0 and 21-7, and never recovered. They "bent" and gave up a bunch of yards (410), but also "broke" and allowed 31 points.

Amazing that neither team had any turnovers. And Sydney finally held Thornton under 100.

Congrats to both teams on two great years! I sure hope the Tigers will make some noise in the playoffs (not likely, IMO).

Now the question becomes who wins POTY? As great as Simpson's numbers are (1635 all-purpose yards, 27 total TDs), I can't see the conference awarding it to him since he was suspended for the first three games. And Guilford losing four ODAC games takes Vogelbach out of the mix. I'd say it'll come down to these three:

-Drew Smith (H-SC WR) - 102 receptions, 1460 receiving yards, 8 TDs
-Phillip Carter (BC RB) - 1201 rushing yards, 19 rushing TDs
-Corey Sedlar (H-SC QB) - 3118 yards, 23 TDs, 66.7 pass comp %

Agreed! He was unbelievable. What a way to go out (he's a senior). Seven punts, an average of 44.1, and like you said, all seven inside the 20. And he booted the second-longest punt in school history (68 yards).
