PA....there are 3 classifications (A,AA,& AAA) but they divided football into 6 a few years back. Div. 1 & 2 are A, 3 & 4 are AA, and 5 & 6 are AAA. Amherst Co is Div 4 which is the larger AA classification but there is no doubt in my mind that they would be very competative in the Div 5 and 6 playoffs. Amherst has a very nice stadium, especially for a rural area. They put in field turf a couple years back. They are expecting about 8,000 tomorrow.

new turf or next turf is the way most schools are going here in p.a.
they rent the fields every weekend. in the long run it make the fields safer and cost effective.with boys and girls soccer playing nite games it kills the grass fields

Ladies and Gentlemen
It is a cool 43 right now; just right for a football game. But ala no grass just sand and large rocks. No wonder they are miserable  here. No football!!

Well let me assure you that while you are sleeping that thousands of young brave Americans are prowling the skys and road looking for bad people.

You would be proud, humbled I should say to see them in action. Let me assure you that I am in a support role because of my age so I am not taking credit.

Peace.......well not really ;)
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

PAwesley...we played So. Va. at Amherst this year and that field is everybit as good as what you have down at (the stadium formerly known as Wolverine) Miller Stadium.  It had poured for a couple days prior to our game and you couldnt tell at all on the field.

Quote from: hasanova on November 30, 2007, 02:57:19 PMbut "all y'all" is a tad bit redundant.

Y'all - can be used as singular or plural and often is used as a generic plural.....i.e a southerner in a northern bar could exclaim in a generic sense, "I'll kick ya'lls butt". This means: I can kick anyone's butt around here.

All y'all is plural but specific. If the same southerner in the same northern bar was specifically talking to say, three individual people, he would pronounce, "Let's go outside where'in I can kick all y'all's butts".  To which any other southerner in the bar would reply at the top of his voice, "Git-R-done!!"

:D :D

Now that right there was funny - I don't care who you are

Speaking of ya'll, Git-R-Done, and northern bars.....anybody heard Ron White talk about getting thrown out of a bar in NYC? Hillarious!!
Since I don't have an ODAC or USA South team to pull for tomorrow....how about a big GO AMHERST COUNTY LANCERS!!!!! CRUSH THE SALEM SPARTANS!!  :o

Speaking of Amherst Co, will you be attending the State final on the 8th? Skoaltrain and myself are working on the logistics of me getting to Lynchburg for the game next weekend, which will be even better I might add if they play Sherando.

85,
Leave those hypotheticals in Tidewater when you come up to The Corn Beef & Company with us in 2 weeks!  :o       :D :D :D

Llama.....I'll be there when the Lancers win their second SC in a row.  ;) I hope they do play Sherando. I have a good friend who's son goes there. I'm hoping he will come down for the festivities. GO LANCERS!!

Llama.....looks like we got our match up. I was sure nervous about the Lancers. The combo of them making crucial mistakes and a pretty darn good Salem team almost had me on here eating crow.  :o
Guess the Warhawks and Purple Raiders can go ahead and punch their ticket to Salem. Oh....I forgot....they did that back in Sept.  :D

wesleydad

llama, i really enjoyed tailgating with you and the station the last 3 weeks.  you guys are really class people and thanks for the kind and positive words about my son and his play in today's tough loss.  we will be making the trip to the stagg to see what it is like, he wants to experience it before he goes back next year, hopefully to play in it.  wesley will be a top 10, if not top 5 team next year with all but clark returning on offense and the bulk of the defense also returning.  we will see you in 2 weeks.  i will check to see where you guys are hanging on friday night and maybe, if we get there early enough we will see you friday, if not we will certainly be there bright and early saturday.

Not sure if it was just a typo. There is only 1 football stadium in NN. All the schools play their home games there - Todd Stadium. It's about a mile from CNU. Hampton Schools (Hampton, Phoebus, Bethel are the big football schools)  have the same thing in that they play home games at Darling Stadium.

no problem. Todd stadium field is nice. what brought you down to watch a game down here? Must have been HS playoffs. Which one? They actually moved a game from Darling in Hampton to Todd. Too many Hampton schools made the playoffs and were high enough seed to host games. They were worried about field conditions at Darling.
