Dad, I think everyone starts out as JV.  I'm even JV and I have almost -50 Karma points.  Anyone wanna explain to me how that happened?  I also wouldn't be claiming SkoalTrain as one of my kin.  That's just a shame.

As far as BC fans picking against the Eagles, Hug (a.k.a. Snakehandler) has picked Hanover to beat us the past two years (and was wrong both times).

And in last year's ODAC Pick 'Em contest;

-CBE, heritagebasement87, and Hug all picked CNU over BC (and were right)

-CBE, frrickbuk, heritagebasement87, Mizzou_Mafia, and Hug all picked H-SC over BC (and were wrong)

-CBE and Llamaguy picked W&J over BC (and were right)

Not to mention countless times abnrnr picking against his Quakers.  And this year, E&H fans picking against the Wasps.

So yes, people on this board do pick against their own team.

But we all know what assuming does to someone.

CUAplayer-  What does FSU and Oklahoma struggling have to do with BC?  we arent struggling this year.  We are 2-1 (or 3-1) and averaging a gazillion points and yards per game. 
But...you are right, eventually teams will catch up.  No team can just be the best every year forever.  But this isnt the year teams catch up.

i was only in high school for 4 years: fr.1, so.1, jr.1, sr.1. college? i could have been done after 4 had i chose, but i lost some credits transferring and had to take extra required classes at bridgewater that w&m didn't feel were needed to be an educated man (ex., new testament). it would have been 6 years had i not challenged 5 classes that bridgewater said i needed to take that i had already taken and passed at w&m. word to the wise: don't rely on administration/advisors when it comes to your degree

anyways, haven't heard about work for saturday, but i'm still hoping i can make the insane road trip for the game. if i can't make it, i think i can speak for former bc "bombsquad" members Dre and Marcus when i say to the eagles: "do the damn thang!"

Not saying that this will happen to BC, but falloffs happen swift and suddenly. Noone sees them coming. So just be careful being so confident. I'm not saying BC will lose. Not saying they will win either.

Just look at Oklahoma this year. Started off ranked in top 10. Been there for the whole new millenium. Noone knows what actually made a team tick until its gone. Same with Fsu the past couple of years. Perenial power for 10-15 years and then they can't win any tough games even with top recruiting classes every year. Teams catch up.

You make a good point that teams catch-up in Division 1 ball. In Division 1 other conference teams have 2 tools to equilize the playing field, scholarships and TV time trying to beat the mighty dynasty teams. In D3 there is no conference TV time to speak of and everyone is on the same relative playing field as far as grant money goes. (exception would be private vs. public d3's) It takes TIME and COMMITMENT to get where Bridgewater is at now. It took a bunch of kids who could have went d2 and even d1-aa to commit to a d3 (0-10) school knowing this was going to be a project. Three years later they win their first ODAC championship and start the ODAC dominance to present. Catholic, Guilford, RMC could rise to this level but it takes a 4 year commitment and a D3 coaching staff willing to stay together and work 60 hrs weeks.
  As for why we don't predict a loss, here is a little background. 1) Since the ESPN Staggbowl appearance BC has had the opportunity to recruit kids that wouldn't even know who BC was as well as obtain D-1aa & D2 transfers. 2) The coaching staff was one of the first in D3 to recruit overall team speed as opposed to size and slow strength. (now you see other d3 powers doing the same, just in the ODAC other teams have small numbers of speed guys not a whole team) 3) Experience. If you come to BC you know you are in a program and won't play much as a Freshman. (Same way at Mt. Union) This year's team has 3 Freshman players with jersey numbers out of 97. Could these players play at other ODAC school right now, YES, but they wait their turn and "Chase ODAC Championships" at BC. Bottomline is BC has talented starters, as talented backups and a coaching staff who will rotate players all game to stay fresh. Teams can occasionally hang with BC for a half to 3 quarters, but when its winning time, thats when BC is at there best. It doesn't always work, case and point Mc Daniel this year, but it usually does in ODAC play.

On a coaching note, Any of you guys watched Bound for Glory on ESPN? I know coach em up & Outsider are in the middle of all that Western PA HS firvir. Those high school kids gotta be lovin the new uni's and football celebs walkin' their fields. Speaking of fields, does every western PA HS team have "field turf" and a 5000 seat stadium? Sick, just plain sick?
