Ryan, nice to meet you tonight at Guilford.  Hope you enjoyed the game and have a safe trip back to VA!

Hasa
Great to meet you, too. Thanks for the grub, and I look forward to seeing you again down the road.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

@d3jason

What a day for Josh Simpson of the HSC Tigers, 180+ yards rushing and 150+ receiving.

Jeremybozz

Huge win for Hampden Sydney over NC Wesleyan 33-23.
Good job Tigers.

That and other Bridgewater posters may be less active as the team may well have a down year.

Perhaps. I want to see BC play Shenandoah and Ferrum before conceding that for sure though.

I haven't posted because it was sooooo cold at the Averret game my keyboard froze up. LOL
Who called for an overcast rainy day? It was sunny and 90 degrees for gosh sake.

Nice win for the Eagles.

We turned the ball over inside the 10 twice and once more in the red zone. Must clean-up the TO's. Considering it could have been much worse, a 34-13 win is something to build on. ;)

Nice start at 5-2 for the ODAC ... all five wins versus the USAS and both losses in PA.  Here's hoping everyone wins next week.   By the way, nice win for HSC today - Josh Simpson must have been great - congratulations!

You're welcome.  My pleasure.  Maybe the Quakers will be in the mix for the ODAC this year and, if not, I'll try to make the Stagg Bowl again!

I'm not "The Kid" but will ask the question, which ODAC win over a USA-South team was most surprising? Also which score surprised you the most?

(preseason conference rankings in red)

#1 Hampden-Sydney 33         #4 UNC Wesleyan 23
#3 Bridgewater 34                #8 Averett    13
#5 Guilford 22                        #7 Greensboro 12
#6 Catholic 23                      #6 Shenandoah 20       OT
#7 Emory & Henry 26            #2 Ferrum 21

Most surprising win for me was Emory & Henry. Either the ODAC is sleeping on Emory or Ferrum just didn't get out of the box. Will know a little more in 2 weeks when Ferrum comes to Bridgewater.

Most surprising score was the GC vs. GC game. One because Guilford only scored 22 pts and even more of a surprise, they only gave up 12. If Guilford's defense steps up, lookout ODAC. ;D

Most interesting sidelight, #6 Catholic beat #6 Shenandoah in overtime. How is that for pairity?  :o
(note: I know these are pre-season ranking and we know what that means.)

Nice Soup Bowl shots by a professional photographer ... also a good look at new Guilford uniforms.  I'm in Photo #7, but so are 500 other people.  :)

llamaguy - I think E&H over FC on the road was a big win ... Ryan Tipps was there ... maybe he'll cover in ATR.

Also, Guilford should have scored 40, but too many TO's.  Defense did look better, but ... it was Greensboro!  We'll see.  Tipps was there as well ... hope he has some thoughts about this game in ATR.

Haven't checked all schedules, but another ODAC/USAS game next week when Methodist plays at Guilford.

WOW....impressive pics. Thanks for sharing. Looked and looked for you Hasa until I finally realized you had your head turned.  :D
Pic 12.....lot of good those knee pads are doing. Seems like I see a lot of this lately. Especially with receivers.
Was in the middle of the Shenandoah River Sunday afternoon so missed the broadcast but big win  for the Tigers. Always good to get that first one and always good to get one on the road. WOW...how about Josh Simpson!! Can you say POTW!? Hopefully, some other Tigers can step up as the season moves along to take some of the pressure off of Josh. Hasa...I'm planning to be at H-S for the Guilford game Sept 27th. Of course...subject to change based on what paddling opportunities come along!!  ;D

Based on all the pre-season talk - the E&H win over Ferrum was most surprising to me. Next in line would have been the Capital win over Shenandoah. The rest I think was expected.

The most surprising score was Guilford only getting 22 points. I figured Josh would have lite up the scoreboard.

The most surprising W of the week was in fact the Capital W over Shenandoah.....Especially since they didn't even play each other!!  :D Sorry....couldn't resist.  ;D

allsky -

My brother told me this morning that's my best side and I have to agree ...  lol

Yeah, if Shenandoah barely lost in OT to Capital of the powerful OAC then that's a story ... kickerdad, of course, meant Catholic.  :)

I'm wishing for a great game when Guilford goes to Sydney on the 27th.  As kickerdad and others mentioned, Guilford only put up 22 due to too many turnovers ... that has to be cleared up!  Hope to see you there!

On a more lackluster note, I'd like to find out what happened in PA to R-M,  Read the account in the paper and on the web site, but I'm still not sure if this was supposed to happen. >:(

Or not?  Maybe it was. ???  I don't know enough about King, apparently. :-\
