Should be a great game Saturday. Hopefully RMC can beat the Tigers at HSC.

According to D3 Football.com Pod Cast.  RMC would get the atomatic bid.
Oddly reminiscent of Yahoo Serious, with chisel in hand, hoping to create a frothier beer in Young Einstein.   I can see the tiny mushroom-shaped cloud forming over Day Field in Ashland as I type ...  :)

Only on this board do we find an allusion to Yahoo Serious!  Well done! ;)

Gonna have that haircut from pulling my hair at the end of the game if I see a repeat of '06. ;D
Seriously, I wasn't sure how many people would "get it," but I knew I could count on you!  I hope you see a great game on Saturday.  I know the Jackets will have no problem getting up and at 'em for the Tigers!  Yahoo!  :)

After watching both RMC and HSC play this year I would have to say the edge goes to HSC.  RMC has a solid running game but that falls right into what HSC does well defensively.  RMC hasn't had an answer for the HSC offense since Favret has been coach.  This game will be close for a half and then HSC will pull away and win 45-20.

Nice try John. You may get in someones head but it won't be mine. :D Simpson won't be anywhere near 100% and several other Tigers got banged up in Bama. If memory serves, last year most picked the Jackets and the Tigers prevailed. I picked the Tigers last year (even though I'm a homer) because I sincerely thought they would win. I am very uneasy about this game Saturday. Not nearly as confident of a Tiger W as last year. I have seen way too many Tiger/Jacket games in the last four decades to apply logic to them. This is one time when I have no problem being wrong.  Here's to hoping your prediction is right on!! ;D GO TIGERS!!

HSC85

Allsky,

I feel much better about The Game than I did before last Saturday's game.  The Tigers played much closer to how they played earlier in the year.  HSC seemed more in control and less reactive than they did in the W&L game and the Catholic game.  The Tigers will still need their best effort to win on Saturday.  With Simpson at less than 100% the other players must step up.  The defense needs to play four complete quarters like in the Emory and Henry game.  RMC has alot to play for.  I predict the Tigers will win a close game.

85....I like John's prediction better than yours but as long as the garnet & gray team has at least one more than the lemon & black team, I'm OK with it.  ;D

Last year in the game in the HSC/RMC game, Simpson accounted for over 220 yards of offense and 3 touchdowns...with that being said, from the previous posts it appears that Simpson is not 100% healthy and that could be a problem for the Tigers...Also, the Jacket's defense is playing just about as well as I've ever seen them with two touchdowns against Guilford and causing 2 turnovers in the Bridgewater game holding the Eagles to 13 points...its gonna be a showdown in Farmville but the JACKETS pull it out with Thornton on the ground and Faulkner through the air....its a great day to be a JACKET!

One more thing, I want to tip my hat to Coach Arruza for moving Braner to WR after struggling as a QB  Braner has been an offensive spark for the jackets and it was an excellent coaching move

News Flash: HSC wins the THE GAME because and only because NO RMC supporters showed up at THE GAME. It seems a last minute decision was made by all RMC boosters to support the b'ball team at the Robins Center leaving the f'ball team  all alone to support themselves. With absolutely no support the Jackets loss a very close game; 24 to 21. The shame of it all is that CU also loss on Saturday sending the Tigers to the playoffs, a spot RMC would have enjoyed IF the fan base would have been in Death Valley instead of the Robins Center. Really ashame tip off was changed from 8pm to 3pm for TV purposes !!!!!

Just poking fun !!!! Really exciting times for ODAC football and basketball.
Looking forward to THE GAME. It has been ALONG TIME since it really meant something to both teams. Should be exciting and will bring back fond memories for all of the "Old Heads"  on both sides.

Wasn't it just last year when THE GAME was for the ODAC title????

I wasn't trying to get into anyones "head."  I was simply posting my thoughts on THE GAME.   I know Simpson is banged up and he wasn't very effective last week but I think he will have a huge game, not to mention HSC has won 7 in a row and none of those games were really close (besides the mud bowl).  Not much of a rivalry when you lose 7 in a row.  The only way RMC has a chance is if they run the ball effectively with Thornton and force some turnovers, and HSC has been giving the ball away this year.

There hasn't been much talk so maybe my awards will get some reaction.  Let me know what you think.

Doobersons picks for postseason awards:

Offensive POY-
1st)-Keith Ricca (CUA) 30TD's to 9ints 163.5 Passing efficiency.  Off the charts the last few weeks.
2nd-Josh Simpson(HSC)
3rd- Stu Sitterson(W&L)
4th-Caleb Jennings(EHC)
5th-Kevin Vaughn (Guilford)..would be Vogelbach but he has 20 interceptions and is 4th in the ODAC in passing efficiency.

Defensive POY- Don't know much about the individual defensive players but did a little research.
1st-Nick Oliviera (CUA) Leads league in tackles and has been ODAC 1st team 3 years in a row.
2nd-Matt Baldwin (EHC)
3rd-Kevin Worley (EHC)
4th-Tommy Matteo (W&L) Best player on a bad defense.
5th- David Woo (CUA)

Rookie of the year.
1) Charlie Westfal (W&L)  Played very well as of late- Accounted for 13TDs.  Very smart and athletic player.  Has rushed for over 600 yards and made numerous outstanding plays all year.
2)T.J. Montague (BC)--This guy was all over the place against us.
3)Tyler Beiler (BC)
4)David Argaud (BC)
5)Kenneth Hyman (GC)

Coach of the year
1)Dave Dunn (CUA) Much improved CUA team.  Moved from the bottom to the top.  CUA was picked 6th in pre-season.
2)Don Montgomery (EHC)-Had his team playing above their talent.  Picked to finish last.

Hope CUA and HSC both wn this weekend.  Two teams would be a good showing for the ODAC.  Go Generals!

Why yes, I believe it was!  Since we now live in such a fast-paced world, maybe "ALONG (sic) TIME" is the new "last season!"  :)

Llamaguy,

There is still a chance I will make it to Stagg Bowl. Company party is weekend before. But - now I have to figure a way to escape from home the weekend before Christmas!! Suddenly that picture with the UWW Dance Team is coming back to haunt me!! Maybe I should take it off as my background on my blackberry and then my wife will let me go back this year?

Thanks for the props for BC rookies John. However, Argaud is a Junior and was a key contributor for the Eagles in 2007.

Here's a short video clip of the ESPN helmet sticker award given to Guilford's Josh Vogelbach this past weekend.  It goes without saying, but Josh has been a great one for the Quakers.  One more game ... hope he finishes strong at E&H!

Thanks for the link.  I have to admit I'll miss Vogie.  He was a lot of fun to watch and I hope he enjoys as much success in whatever he chooses to do after Guilford. 8)
