Well, it looks like the ODAC Championship Game will be played next week in Ashland!

HSC wins over Salisbury by 45 points today, 59-14.
Yeah, HSC had no turnovers.  Salisbury had 8!  Holy Smoke!  No way you can win with that many.

Gutsy performance by some Eagles with serious pride today.  It always bothers me to see these kids hurt, but I guess it is part of the game.  BC's underclassmen and 3s gained some valuable experience today as their injured brothers were either out or playing hurt the entire 2nd half and most of the first.  It doesn't seem to be a toughness issue, but speed kids with knees and ankles.

Despite the loss, I am proud of the Eagles effort with that many injuries.
It was a very entertaining game with lots of plays that you don't see every day. Good luck to Macon and HSC next week.

Congratulations to the Hampden Sydney Tigers for a great win on Senior Day.  It has been a pleasure to watch all of the Seniors play these past 4 years.  Now the Tigers must play their best game of the season this week in an extremely difficult environment.  Stay focused and take care of business.  Go Tigers.  This is the third year in a row that the winner of this game will go to the playoffs.

And to that point - it is the third year in a row that the two teams will be RMC and HSC.  Sydney won two years ago in Ashland and Macon won last year in Farmville.  Going to be another great edition of "The Game"

I'd like to see everyone's thoughts on this going into the last two weeks of the regular season:

Anyone got front-runners for POY and COY?

I have an opinon but I'm going to hold mine for a few posts.

POY -- Corey Sedlar ... The ODAC's top-rated passer completed 63-percent of his throws on 31-of-49 passing and 257 yards in his most recent game ......  On the season, Sedlar leads the ODAC in total offense (303.1 ypg), passing yards per game (307.6), touchdown passes (27), and total passing yards (2,768).

COY -- If the Tigers go 10-0 on the season, how could you give it to anyone other than Marty Favret?  On the other hand, if RMC wins "The Game" this coming Saturday, then it's a tougher call  ... but I expect it would go to Arruza.

badcall!

Well, another so-so year of Bridgewater College football is drawing to a close.  The chants of "Bring back Jimmy Benson" are ringing through the valley and beyond.  For BC football and for that matter, all other sports at BC, lets hope they hire the right person as new President of BC.  Someone from the outside would definitely be a welcome breath of fresh air.  I for one hope they don't go in house and hire the Academic Dean-Sheppard.  Hang in there Coach Clark, I hope you get the help you need with the new hire!

Can any RMC fans let us know about the parking situation, tailgating area, ticket prices etc for The Game this weekend?

Ha!  That's Funny right there HSC85.  Don't bring any beer, wine, or other.  Ride a bike.  That's about the only way you'll be able to get close.  They really don't like the other team visiting and will do their best to deter you from Tailgating.  Sort of like what HSC does when Bridgewater comes to town.  Prince Edward County Police go on "special" alert and target the other team.  How do I know this?  I've seen it firsthand.  They don't even try and hide it.  Let's hope RMC is a little more accommodating.

Its kinda of hard to know what to expect, what you can and can't do, if the host school can't advise accordingly. If HSC fans find it difficult to park, tailgate, etc., it would be ashame. I think all HSC fans should show up at 9am, light the grills and start the fun in anticipation of The Game. Don't break the law, just have fun then go out and pull like hell for your Tigers to win !!!!! After all, it is our turn and the home team as not won in two years. Lets keep that tradition going for at least one more year.

HSC85-

I am going to be speaking in terms what it was like two years ago with the ODAC on the line.  I know some HSC fans made their presence felt on the football practice field which is right near the baseball field.  I do not know if that same area will be open for tailgating again this year but thats where it was two years ago.

RMC tailgates in a parking lot which is between one endzone and the train tracks.  That same parking lot runs right up to the area proposed HSC tailgate area I mentioned above.

Parking is going to be difficult.  My best advice would be to try near the softball fields and walk over.  There isn't much room on the campus as it is.  Ticket prices are $5 as far as I know.

HSC85

Thanks RMCFan.

I just got a message from someone at RMC and I was told the tickets will be $10 and children under 12 will be free.  I understand the additional cost because the crowd will be much larger than the other home games.  There will be additional costs involved such as temporary bleachers, security, parking and cleanup.  I hope both teams play well and are injury free.

However I am pulling for a HSC Victory.

The ODAC Pick em board is updated. Enjoy.

Thanks for the update...I appreciate you letting me know.

I am also hoping both teams play well, and hoping that Macon wins.

HSC85 -  In honor of my enlighting you with the information, how about getting in touch with Farvrett and telling him no first quarter onside kicks...  Deal?

I can only promise "the unexpected".

There always seems to be some memorable moments when The Game is played.
