It has been dry. the golden days of Skoal, LLama,  Snakehandler, Kid, Pat Coleman, et el have just about dried up.  Those were some "direct" discussions; specifically with Kid. LOL.

You better have had your facts lined up or you got eviserated.

I try to read the Papi and Narch threads on the other string too...

Anyway looking forward to your wit and directness. I just read the board most of the time..........now

Good to see some of the ol' gang on here again.  What's up Skoal, Kid, et al.  Is anyone going to St. Vincent's tomorrow.  I will be there along with the wife and daughter.  Good luck Eagles!

Bridgewater 19,Saint Vincent 14 Final

I didn't stay with the audio through the very end, so can someone tell me how it went from 45-15 with about five minutes left to a final of 45-30? I'm hopeful it was just a case a case of pulling the starters, but it still makes me nervous for future games.

HSC 45 Averett 30 and it was a case of pulling the starters.

H-S has a very good team.  I enjoyed watching their offensive scheme.

It's a shame however, that Averett wasn't at full strenght, i.e., their senior QB out and had to play 2 QB's that had never thrown a pass in a college game before.  It showed too as with no threat of a passing game in the 1st half, H-S could concentrate stopping the run, which they did very effectively in building a 24 - 0 halftime lead (could have been more but several costly H-S turnovers) and pushing it to 31 - 0 on its first possession of Q3.

But that said, H-S worked Averett's secondary, particularly the right CB (freshman - you could say "school was in session" for him this afternoon).  So even if Averett's QB played, the defense wasn't stopping H-S.  Averett's passing stats and scoring really came as SafetyGuy said, after the H-S starters were pulled.

Good luck to H-S for the rest of the season.

Looks like ODAC ruled over USA-South teams today.

How good will the ODAC conference be this year?

What a Souper Bowl!!!

A few thoughts:

The older gentleman on the broadcast was quite entertaining.  I would rather listen to him then Chris Colinsworth any day.

GC-Q played like what "experts" on the USASouth board used to say about GC-P.  Quakers allowed 7 1st downs to my pride via penalities.

Quaker fans, I thought your Quakers played hard.  They do have few core guys that will help them get some wins this year.  I thought Ben King was exciting to watch, very explosive.

Good Luck to you guys the rest of the way!!

I went to the hsc, averett game . The hsc offense was strong running and passing , the big suprise to me was how fast and physical the defense was . Did anyone else notice that?

HS was impressive across the board but I was most impressed with thier passing game, seems like guys got open all over the place. AU's pass defense was one of thier stronger suits yet HS put up 300 yards in the air. Granted their was some serious YAC in there but either AU's pass defense has really dropped off or HS has one heck of a passing game. For the sake of my own sanity I am going with the later.

Damn...Its a shame how much this board has slowly died since the Kid's "retirement." He deserves a lot of credit for making it what it was for such a long stretch of time.

Its hard to tell where things are after just one week, but 5-2 isn't a bad start for the ODAC. However, HSC aside, it doesn't look like anybody else looked spectacular. BC's win doesn't look that impressive, unless St. Vincent has really become that good of a team that quickly. Everybody else played close games versus familiar opponents, except W&L, whose boxscore looks really unimpressive. I don't know how good the Dips are right now, but giving up 29 points in the first half and not scoring until the 4th quarter makes the Generals look pretty bad.

I hope the board picks up with some good banter, and hopefully a good year for ODAC fans and its teams.
