Muchacho...I would have to agree to the comment that HSC's starters looked impressive, I will have to disagree that they were the only team that looked impressive.  RMC won 54-14 over Methodist (I know they are subpar).  Macon was very balanced on offense with 250 yards passing and 200 yards rushing.  Faulkner and peoples picked up where they left off last year and scruggs and Drake each had a nice day.  The starting defense gave up a big play touchdown but pitched a shutout otherwise.  Macon averaged 7.3 yards per offensive play, that stat alone is impressive.

macon looked really impressive...i know the monarchs are young, but that rmc team did whatever they wanted against mu...i'll be shocked if they aren't a serious contender in the odac this year...good balance and lots of talent...#81 was an absolute beast

Anybody have a valid link for the Bridgewater game.  All I've tried don't work.

Nevermind, It finally came up.

new program... they didn't know you had to hit "start feed" in 2 different spots for it to actually start. something similar to the 2 keys at the same time for the lock to the vault.

We have Hopkins this Saturday at 2:00.  I'm happy about the outcome of the Methodist game, but this will be a stern test for the early part of this season.

Hey, abnrgr.  Yeah, I was there.  First, my computer is so screwed up, it's not any fun to use, but second, I guess I am just numb after all these years of Guilford giving games away.  This game was no exception.

Nice crowd, good atmosphere and a close game, but ....

Both teams will probably win 3-4 games this season, so not a great win for Greensboro.  Guilford committed way too many penalties, including two for roughing the kicker.  One "phantom" call was crucial to the outcome.  Instead of getting the ball at midfield with about 6 minutes to to, it gave GCP an automatic first down.  Another time, we had GCP backed up to the 23 on a 2-point conversion play and, of course, they made it ... which, incidentally, was the final margin.  Another time, we downed a punt on the 1-foot line and, of course, they threw a 34 yard pass to get out of the shadow of the goalline and then scored.

I'm just tired of this sort of bad luck - or is it simply poor decision making?  Sigh.

A couple of bright spots:  kickoffs will be better this year and Ben King (transfer from Appalachian) appears to be a good player.

Bottom line, however, we have to cut out the stupid penalties.

I feel your frustration thru the post. I felt your pain from 2000-04 or there abouts. As a former coach it made me semi insane watching them. You know the old axiom. "you will not have a jump in improvement any bigger than you will have than from game one to game 2". Something like that anyway. They will be much better next week but if they get slammed they probably are doomed for the year. I am going to start watching the Monarchs or something. Good thing I stopped drinking..again

Alright all you Jacket fans.....its time to see what R-MC is really made of.  Number #19 Hopkins rolls into town.  Anybody have any information about this Hopkins team and who the studs are?

I beleive there is going to be a good crowd for the home opener...going to be a great day for a football game.  MARKVA65, Jacketlawyer...either one of you going to be in attendance?

You should put this question on the Centennial Conference board. They're very clued in about all the teams and are generally pretty cordial to visitors.

Wish I could have walked down those very steep steps of the grandstand to see you and your dad after the game at St. Vincent's.  What a beautiful facility!!  But I was afraid I would fall.  And I was riding the Alumni bus and they like to leave when you can still hear the whistle ending the game.  Your team kept me nervous the whole game!!! I was always waiting for the trick plays your Dad is famous for that would kill us.  I was so hoping that we would be ready, especially for 22sky.  Please give him and your Mom my best!!  OlineMom

I will be sure to bring it to you.  I could have brought it earlier.  I have been to Lynchburg any number of times.  But I don't know where you live and it didn't occur to me  :-[ :-[ :-[

Hope to see everybody at Stone Station today.  I am back after a hard off-season where I have developped an affinity for concrete.  In March I managaged to fall  and break my right elbow in 4 places, they had to wait almost a week to fix it.  Not a pleasant wait, I can assure you.  Then back to being 12, no cars, no teaching, no nothing for almost 3 months.  Back to Mom's apt, away from computers and life as I had become accustomed to living it.  Then in the summer, whu I face-planted on Independance  Day.  Didn't quite make the shade of blue necessary for the festival, I was the phantom of the opera though.  Half the face was skin tone and the other was dark purple with the cheekbone sticking out about 5 inches.  Too bad Halloween was so far away as I was scaring people, children and small pets quite easily.   But I'll be at the B'H20 game today.  In about 15 minutes in fact.  See you there!! :) :) :)
