R-MC outlasts Hopkins 41-37!  I think they are the real deal.
What a game, back and forth.
Final R-MC drive goes about 80 yards for the game winning TD starting with 1:40 remaining to play and no timeouts.

SafetyGuy

Hampden Syndey gets the win over North Carolina Wesleyan despite 5 Ints.  One dropped 2 point conversion from OT.

ODAC FAN

The defense played well, the blocked field goal was big and the missed extra point by wesleyan help also.

Alright all you Jacket fans.....its time to see what R-MC is really made of.  Number #19 Hopkins rolls into town.  Anybody have any information about this Hopkins team and who the studs are?

I beleive there is going to be a good crowd for the home opener...going to be a great day for a football game.  MARKVA65, Jacketlawyer...either one of you going to be in attendance?

Wish I'd been there.  Sounds like it was a heck of a game.  As for me, I do not see myself getting to Ashland this year before Homecoming, but I always turn up at the H-SC game, and will be there this year with a few of my Tiger friends.  But hey!  Very much enjoying the here and now!! 8-)

I feel your frustration thru the post. I felt your pain from 2000-04 or there abouts. As a former coach it made me semi insane watching them. You know the old axiom. "you will not have a jump in improvement any bigger than you will have than from game one to game 2". Something like that anyway. They will be much better next week but if they get slammed they probably are doomed for the year. I am going to start watching the Monarchs or something. Good thing I stopped drinking..again
abnrgr - any "improvement" from game one to game two was not readily apparent.  :)  I'd circled these two games as "maybes", so it looks as though it will be a long season.  I hope the Quakers prove me wrong, but I know stronger teams lie ahead.

Congratulations to the rest of the ODAC.  Keep up the good work in the non-conference portions of your schedules!

Sorry my man. I feel for you. How many beatings can someone take?

They may need a couple of "row well.......and live" practices. That always got my attention. In the 70's anyway.  :)

Hasa...it's the ODAC. I want my Waspers to win. But, you never know. Every team that my Waspers play scare me to death. Three years ago, Waspers drilled the Tigers, Two years ago they drilled the Jackets... did not get a Ring.  This year ...Who knows? Jackets are playing well.. Tigers have had their hands full, but playing well. My Waspers are playing to the level of the Competition. It's the ODAC... Play Well, Be Strong, Good Luck!

You know, we lose a close one (at home) to Greensboro, 17-15, then the Pride lose at home to E&H by 22. RMC clobbers Methodist by 40 in Fayetteville and then Guilford drops a close one to the Monarchs. I realize a team can improve as a season progresses, but on paper it doesn't look good. You do the math!  Lol

abnrgr

Math was not my .....uh specialty.....duh. But "I thinks I be knowing" you Hasa.  :). It does not bode well. Damn....sentence structure, syntax, and grammer is not good either.

I'll call it. 1-9. They will catch a team coming off the bus with tranpanosomisis and beat them.

Like you did to us last year! :P  Don't think we're going to overlook the Quakes this year.  We'd better not overlook anyone.

You missed one heck of a game.  Looks like Coach Aruzza has his boys in line this year.  I will be taking in the Homecoming game as well as HSC.  I've got a good feeling this year.

The Quakers could easily be 2-0 ... but there have been too many penalties and defensive lapses that allowed big plays.  I'm not fooling myself, however, we are far from being one of the ODAC's better teams.  I still think we will win some this year, but two games I thought we would win are gone.

Too early to be morose, Hasa.  Stop it.
