Saintsfan,

W&L runs a very consistant option attack.  They have very few negative yardage plays.  They are very comfortable with long ball control multiple play drives.  I think if they get behind by more than a couple of scores they will become uncomfortable.  During their winning streak they have not been behind by more than 7 points in a game.  Their defense made some very athletic plays against HSC.  They are a balanced team with respect to offensive and defensive strength.

I was surprised by the variety of attack points that their option offense made.  They attacked the defense at multiple points and not just your standard triple option points.

Thanks for the note, HSC85...  Thomas More knows they'll have a battle on their hands... Sounds very disciplined to me.  Hopefully Thomas More can jump to a big lead like usual and then play the pass.  Sounds easy enough to us, we are typing on a message board.  I'll be happy with a clean, well-played game where nobody gets hurt.
Yeah-sounded easy to us and the Tigers too.... ???......and we both went home with our tails between our legs ....:'(......oh well.....at least the Tigers get a shot at redemption... ;).....Good luck to both our ODAC teams!

First time poster.  I went to/played at W&L and now live far away from the action.  I always read these boards to get a feel how things are going in the conference beyond the press releases, but pride compelled me to finally post.

I really just wanted to give a shout out to my Gennies and if any Generals read this board to say I'm really d*** proud of you.  As well as say good luck to HSC.  Two ODAC teams through, lets make it happen.

GREAT article in this morning's Richmond Times-Dispatch about the 1970 Knute Rockne Bowl game between HSC and Montclaire State which ended on a very controversial and questionable play and call by officials.Apparently Marty Favret has invited the 1970 team to come watch the game from the VIP box!Great reading! One of you more computer-literate guys post a link-will ya? ;) :P :-\.....Smart guy that Marty!! Give 'em a little extra motivation..... ;) :D ;D

Nice win SaintsFan. Congrats. Was listening to the game on W&L's radio station from my computer. Sounds like we just couldn't compete. Still, I'm glad to see we got a touchdown. Small progress from our last visit to the playoffs. Good luck moving on and congrats on your season so far!

Congratulations to the HSC Seniors.  They were the winningest class in school history with 36 wins.  Outstanding success throughout.  I know that yesterday did not end the way that we all hoped but you did not quit and gave yourself a chance to win in the 4th quarter.  We are all very proud of your effort and accomplishments.  Now it is time for start reflecting on your career and finish your education strong.  You will have decades to share these stories with all your friends and relatives.  You are getting a great education and you made lifelong friends.  Walk proud HSC Seniors.

wesleydad

hsc85, where you at the game yesterday?  if so what did you think about montclaire?  is the d as good as advertised and is the offense really suspect?  congrats on your teams nice season, saw the bridgewater game this year.

Wesleydad over here gloating indirectly. Again I will say it. Wolverine=Nasty litttle brute.... ;)

Congrats W-dad on your smack down. Good luck

no gloating at all.  just have found hsc85 to be very astute in his explanation as to what he has seen at games and since i have not seen montclaire i was hoping he had so i can get an idea of what to expect saturday.  I have an idea as to how the game will go, wesley should win by 2 or 3 scores since i have heard that their offense sturggles, just wondering how any hampden-sydney person saw the game.  i have heard good things about seeing a game at h-s so i will add them to my travel list for next year.
