Life has been pretty busy for me, abnrgr - sorry for being so "slack."  lol  I did talk to a 2011 grad (Jake Kues) at the gym the other night and he's still pretty tight with some of the young assistant coaches.  Jake said Coach Rusiewicz has 50 rookies in camp and there is a very positive attitude on the team with almost all the upper classmen returning.  I don't have specific details on practices because I haven't actually seen one, but I'll try to do that this week.  I did drive through campus late Saturday as the team was leaving the locker room and heading to the dining hall and I saw about three guys on crutches already.  I don't know their names and the severity of their injuries, so I won't speculate - I guess that's just football!

Like Dr Lectner said to Inspector Pazzi....intestines in....intestines out...

I am still awaiting the Kid's scathing indictment of all things not Eagle.  :)

There once was a league that's all-Eagle.
The best playoff run:  a "near" regal.
The ODAC's so docile
That game's now a fossil
A postseason win?  It's illegal!

Hookslide

I have heard that there is a in squad game at HSC this coming
Friday.  I was at the players check in on August 11.   Impossible to say anything about talent.  There were three or four linemen with considerable size 6' 4  260ish.  I spotted one guy who had to be 6'0 300 plus.

Thanks Hook.
I love hog linemen when they are feeding....

Good morning, abnrgr, I stopped by Guilford's practice for about 15 minutes last night.  It's hard to count heads with everyone milling around, but I think there are about 80 guys suited up for practice.  I saw about 4 guys with a foot cast or on crutches, so there are a few bodies banged up.  Hopefully, nothing that ends their seasons.  While I was there, they were practicing short passes to backs over the middle and screens.  There is some speed this season as I saw a couple of guys break one and scoot.

I heard through the grapevine that Coach Rusiewicz has already dismissed a few guys from the team this season.  Seems they felt they could show up for practice when they "felt like it" - should send a strong message to the other guys on the team.

abnrgr

Thanks HASA. I guess the rest of the ODAC dudes are holding back.

Did you see any hog linemen that will of use such as a dominate nose guard?

O-Line?

QB's?

The linemen were getting work in the far corner of the stadium - I did see several guys who are north of 260.

Going by red vests, looked liked about 5-6 guys vying for QB.  I don't want to give too much away, but I saw at least one lefty QB in the mix as well as the more typical righties.  Most of the passes I saw were shorter dumps over the middle to a back or Tight End.  Rusiewicz has already been clear that the Quakers won't pass as much this season as they have the past few years, so ... I'd expect more runs and shorter stuff with, hopefully, gains coming through YAC.

Good to see Tyler Beiler (former BC receiver) get in the preseason game against the Raiders Saturday.

He only played in the fourth quarter, but so did three of the other eight non-injured 49er receivers. He still has a chance!

What does the first week have in store for the ODAC ?I'm assuming Guilford opens with their big cross town rival. Any other match-ups of interest ?
