"Are the BC football players playing for a ring? Is that the motivation? "

That's a bizzare question,  yes the players are playing for a ring because it's a symbol of an ODAC Championship and they are nice to have after you graduate.  (*Much better than ANY class ring!)    The motivation is to win a 5th ODAC Championship in a row.. ;D

WOW 100 pages.. dear God, we can waste space!  :D

I know what you mean Hug.  I too won a ODAC Conference Title as well as ODAC Player of the Year and got jack squat!!!  I'm not bitter though....

I'm 50-50 so didn't vote yet. On one hand I definitely prefer grass from an asthetic point of view, not to mention our record is pretty good at home in the mud in the playoffs. ;) Plus its alot cheaper than turf I guess, unless you consider upkeep time and dollars.

I know we haven't done as well of Turf,(* Kid its an off week, could you whip-up our playoff record on turf vs. grass ;D) but do think if we had it and were used to it, it would further enhance our speed advantage. Plus it would have been better and easier to prepare for the 2002 Trinity game at home in the snow. It would also be usable atleast for practice for the soccer teams, etc so may have advantages there.

Its still a coin flip for me.

And Oh, I got a 1989 Wakeman Intramural Basketball Championship Ring, what is that worth? :o

And your point is.....

My point is...
QuoteThe motivation is to win a 5th ODAC Championship in a row..

Not get a free ring.

If you win best in class, you get a blue ribbon. If you win Best in Show, now you get some hardware.

Rugby Guy

I have to say I prefer grass too.  Turf just doesn't give you that happy feeling, and it makes you cough more.

EHCTailgate

What are you turf people trying to do, put John Deere out of Business. Nothing marks the end of summer better than seeing a football field getting prepared for the new season.

Rugby Guy

And without John Deere I wouldn't be able to see Gal in just that hat.......

pakownr97

I know Ms. Deere will vote for grass.

And Rugby, get your mind out of the gutter.

Hug,
A pretty good portion of the ring fund comes from the Football team alumni, a portion from the school and a small deposit by the players, maybe the baseball team at BC needs to work on getting their teams more well organized so they can/will buy rings for the players the next time they win the ODAC.   :P

...and Kids right.. it's JUST baseball!   ::) :D

religion_major

The baseball team's ring policy is as follows if I understand it correctly, win the South Region and then you get a ring.  At least that is how coach put it last year.  Now I wouldn't worry too much about the ring policy until after the ODAC tournament.   ;D

Peggy took an excellent shot (considering the excitement of the play) of Brian Awkard's "juke" that would end up being the game-winning touchdown:

I've found the perfect reward for this year's ODAC football Champions. Now should we just get one for the TEAM or should we spring for one per senior?
