36 commitments, how many guys will he carry ? My memory is most the players last year where young as I sat and watched GC score at will on my Tigers. I think the final score was like 61 to 49. Both defenses were absolutely horrible that day.
I've heard through the grapevine that Guilford expects 45 returnees, so that would be 81 ... still less than the 100 or so many DIII's see for fall practice in August.

How will HSC compare to CNU when they meet in September. I've never seen a CNU game and I'd be interested to know the scope.

Who cares Tigerfan as long as you do.  ;). Damn the Captains... 8-)

Reminds me of a joke:

Q. What did the fish say when it ran into a concrete wall?

A. Dam. (or was it "Damn"?)

I just took a look at Guilford's 2012 football schedule - nonconference games versus Greensboro, Methodist and Averett of the USA South (two at home and one away), then seven ODAC games (three at home and four away).  Four of Guilford's five home games are at 7 pm and it looks as though the Bridgewater game is on a Thursday night (Oct. 11).  I've never seen Guilford play a Thursday game, but I bet the reasoning is because the Quakers always face Bridgewater during fall break and it's a shame to have a home game with no students there.  If the students leave campus on Friday, Oct 12, I bet they'll be there in force on Thursday night, Oct. 11.  Nice move.

Does GC usually draw a decent crowd for home games ?

Greensboro game is 3000-4000 and homecoming can be the same if we're competitive.  Early season night games are better than day games if the weather is nice (anyone remember the 2009 homecoming game versus HSC? - I thought we were going to have to build an ark!)  Normally, 1500 or so - can vary from 1000-2000.  If the students aren't there during fall break, it'll be 700-800.  And, as always, name any 0-10 or 2-8 team that draws well!  During the Vogelbach era and seasons we were 6-4 or better, the crowds were very good.  With all this said, we just don't have the alumni or student support for crowds as HSC, RMC and others have.  For whatever reason, Guilford recruits/attracts a significant percentage of students who simply aren't interested in intercollegiate sports.

You know I love you Hasanova but the type you are talking about are (in my time) called HIPPIES. But they turn when they see their first W2 :)

I have a feeling our "times" are about the same.  Now, if only Birkenstock made football cleats out of eco-friendly renewable and recyclable materials ... while also paying a fair wage, not using child labor and not violating human rights, of course.

Lest anyone misunderstand me, I want these things too, but football cleats would probably be $2000 a pair and smell like hemp.  :)

I hate to start rumors but I hear that QB transfer wants to leave HSC to move to GC-Q.

Just waiting for the Tiger fans to do cheetah flips..... :)

I guess no one is jumping at that bait. Ah........ the lonely world of a "poopie stirrer" in the off season ::)

Okay Hasanova....I'll stick you with a stick.

who said "fish and friends smell after 3 days"
Circa 1738. (one of the founding fathers)

Anyway the point is Tigers, Generals, and Eagles all stink after a scrimmage :)

I believe that would be Mr. Benjamin Franklin and, I further believe, he was correct.  :)

"Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days."

That was too easy for Hasanova. I'll make him suffer later

Tigerfan----just being the good natured trouble maker. I am at that time of the year where you have to "stir" to get people to talk..... :)
