pizzashop,
Of course WM has a great tailgating tradition, the place is essentially a parking lot with a football field in the middle of it.  :D

May that never change...

I'll be in Bridgewater on 9/3, pretty darn early at that, where's the spot for breakfast (Besides the Waffle House - the fully loaded hash browns are good, but make me wish for halftime about two minutes after kickoff.)?

in bridgewater you can't beat hardees breakfast (at the corner of Dinkle and Main St). harrisonburg i'd have to go w/ bob evans (take the 33E exit off 81, R at the light directly before the mall, R at the crest of the hill. bob evans on the right). that's just my personal preference. for most convenient, just hit that buger king right off the interstate.

Breakfast at 0:Dark 30.  Bloody Marys and Miller Lite!  Along with Pork BBQ....Come on Pizzashop, no true tailgater eats breakfast.  We'll be in site Friday Evening setting up shop and having some fun.....Do I see a "keg'er" in our future?

Unfortunately, as it applies to tailgaiting, I'll be there in as professional a capacity i ever hope to find myself in in this life, so the kegger is out. I won't say no to an ealry morning bbq sandwich if you are offering though.

With the job, my tailgaiting is limited to the occasional parking lot in south philly (best), cleveland (second best), or jacksonville (worst -though it was the super bowl, eliminating real tailgaiting and  driving the cost of a turkey leg and miller lite to 16 dollars --and the guy held up his tip bucket which remained empty-- was a good turkey leg tho) on Sundays for whatever Philly Eagles tickets I am lucky enough to come across.

Emory definitly has the best tailgate in the ODAC ontop of having some of the best fan support. Kind of crazy but year in and year out Emory is usually in the top 3 in average attendance. What is more crazy, are all the people on the tailgate field during the game. Usaully their are just as many people in the stands as their on the tailgate field.  Homecoming is even a whole different story, it would not surprise me if their are not over 12,000 people on campus that day. ONe of the things that I have enjoyed most about EHC tailgates is always inviting visitors to come join in. Overall, it is about good food(beverage), good fun, and good football.

here we go w/ the e&h attendance again... i think they just pull a number out of a hat and put 3 zeroes at the end of it and call that today's attendance

Ahh, now it all makes sense!  They count the people who are traveling through Emory who stop off to use their restrooms.   ::)

I read the front page on the site today and saw that the lineman from Illinios had passed away.  Said to think of how life can change so quickly.  Made me think of how less than a week ago, Bridgewater lost a captain for the season due to injury, and I couldnt stop thinking about what that was going to do to our defense.  Now that looks like nothing compared to losing a captain to a death.  My prayers go out to his family and Illinios Wesleyan as they mourn the death of a friend, teammate, and family member.

EHCTailgate:  I don't doubt you have your fair share of fan support but as we address on this board sometime last year, attendance seemed to be somewhat inflated which would lead me to beleive the "tailgating atmosphere" would also be inflated which would still make Bridgewater King for the past 4 years soon to be 5 as ODAC Tailgating Champion.  If you going to count every person in the county and town then BC has about 13,000 to 15,000 in attendance every game.  That's including all farmers and chicken plant workers.

I would also agree with you.  It's about the "tailgate." Period!

I have seen in the preseason preview the same interesting news that Skoal saw about Sydney beating BC this year.  I guess if i was predicting things and saw that one team had beat another team the past...what 5 years at least ( i dunno, maybe more, maybe one less), i would probably go out on a limb and pick the upset at least once too.  At least they are using odds to make their choices and not common sense.  Good luck once again this year Hampden-Sydney....and make sure you dont leave anything too important or expensive sitting around the school when we come down....cause someone might just happen to use the five finger discount like you guys did last year and take it home with them

Restrooms, Oh, you mean the creek behind the visitors section.

One of the things that I have always enjoyed about rivalries, is that when tragedy happens both sides always seem to join together in true sportsmanship. May the Lord bless and keep all players this season especially those at Illinois Wesleyan as they go through this season without their teamate.

I just hope this year the boys in pink polos with "popped collars" can keep their HANDS to themselves.. I don't want to see any fights between BC fans and HSC fans this year.. it was UGLY last year after the game..  ::)

I would agree pizzashop Western Maryland did have a great tailgating atmosphere. But McDaniel's atmosphere sucks! ;)

I'm sorry guys I can't put BC in the top tailgating venues. We have quality. I'll put Stone Station up against any single tailgate site. Llama, Skoal, you guys know how to do it up!! But we don't have quantity. We need to bring about another 100 or so into the fold! It may not get better but it needs to get bigger!

Agreed Hug but you might see that change very soon. I have spoke with 3 different tailgate group who are potentially planning to move in with Stone Station this season. We will see if that materializes. Also the Alumni Assoc. specifically put the "1980 ODAC Championship Team Reunion" beside Stone Station specifically so that they could see that BC fans now tailgate at games. Prior to the Bc's latest playoff run, a tailgate to a BC'er was a place you sat on at the river to fish. ;D

Stone Stations stock is definitely rising. Stop by and get some good eats, cold beverage, and a little bling while you are there in '05!

Go Eagles! Strive for the best, an ODAC fivepeat and no less

Based off Post Patterns knowledge, I would have to say St. Johns would have to get the nod for #1 Tailgating location.

I wouldn't slight BC though! Bridgewater did have the first tailgate up and running at 0730 a.m. Stagg Bowl morning in Salem. And note: Bridgewater wasn't even playing that day. Now That Is Tailgatamania!
