I saw the game last year at Huntingdon. I just think the home team is rarely going to lose this game. Too far of a bus ride to play your "A" game. That said, HSC will have to play its best game of the year to win. Anything less will not have a good ending. Should be a good one.

Good luck this weekend. May your team win !!!!

625 miles from Montgomery to Farmville?  C'mon, those are routine trips in the ASC and the old SCAC.  ;)

Maybe so, but it's all what you are used to. I think the farthest ODAC in conference trip is catholic to Guilford, 300-320 miles depending on how you go.

No excuses, HSC just got beat. Had the game in hand in the 4th quarter and couldn't finish. Huntingdon has a good team.
We'll see how the Tigers respond going forward. Allowing 5 sacks is not going to get the job done. That is where I would focus going into ODAC play. QB needs more time. I don't think we'll see a defense like Huntingdon's in ODAC play. Time will tell. Tigers played hard. Too many mental lapse to beat a good team.

It was a good game. Last year was a good game. the 2 yrs before yall won both good games.
HSC is real good team. Each yr when we play yall and Wesley, those games give us an idea of where we are as a young program.

As far as 'D', we need to get better, but this was our D's best game against a real real good football team.
good luck and keep the faith

Good luck to you guys going forward. I'll be anxious to see how Hunitingdon does against Wesley. I think you can give them a run for their money in Alabama. The Tigers will regroup and will make a run at the ODAC Championship. They just need to stop making key mistakes at critical times in the game.

Any W&L fans coming to Greensboro for the Guilford game this Saturday?  It's a 7 pm start and Homecoming, so it'll be busier than normal.  Stop by the Quaker Club tent and say hello.  As you're facing the home side from the visitors' stands, the Quaker Club tent is to the left in the southwest corner.  I'll be there from about 5 pm on.  I've been asked to bring my '68 Nova, so it should be in the vicinity of the tent.  Hope it's great weather and safe travels!

I think I'm the only W&L fan consistently around these days and I've made my quota of W&L games for the year by going to Sewanee. Sadly it's just too long a hike from Birmingham, though I'd like to put my '76 GMC motorhome next to your '68 Nova! Here's hoping it will be a good game with no injuries...

Well, another game perhaps ... and my Nova will probably outlast me.  lol

Anybody seen Bridgewater this year ? Are they for real or have they played a so-so schedule to date ?
If they are good the ODAC race might be special this year.

Bridgewater played at St. Vincent (bottom of PAC), home against Greensboro (bottom of USAC), and home against Shenandoah (presumed middle to bottom of ODAC). Their next game is home for Apprentice. Of those, only St. Vincent is a marginally unknown quantity, and they are 0-4 so far. I think the verdict is still out on the Eagles since they have played some fairly weak competition and that trend continues with their next opponent.

E&H might be the more interesting of the two ODAC undefeateds. Wins at Ferrum (top 3 probably in the USAC), at Maryville (middle of the USAC), and home for Methodist (middle to top of the USAC) show that E&H could be very competitive. Unlike with the Eagles, we will know quite a bit about E&H after this weekend's home game with R-MC.

The ODAC played 4 games against schools that were playoff caliber last year. H-SC went 1-1 against their opponents (CNU and Huntingdon), R-MC went 0-1 (JHU), and W&L went 1-0 (Centre). Every year is different, but these schools were expected to be good again this year (though I'm not sure why the expectations for Centre were so high given how many seniors they lost). So it's going to be an interesting season as the rest of the ODAC teams are pretty much unknown quantities since they played relatively unknown quantities.

Thanks for the update. Your knowledge is impressive for someone living in Birmingham.

Eh. I'm from NJ. I really couldn't care less about Alabama or Auburn except that when they win my office is a happier place and the people are easier to work with. As for my "knowledge", I've made a concerted effort the last couple years to keep track of D3 football. It's a connection to W&L that I was missing for a long time as I've always lived a long way from Lexington since graduation. To be honest, I'd rather watch the D3 games over the computer (especially the Generals but many of the other teams as well) then watch the D1 games these days.

It also helps that the Generals are no longer ODAC bottom feeders and that this year I'm voting in the South Region Fan Poll. That's been fun because it's forced me to tune in to some of the top teams in the region and I'm getting a much better perspective on the gaps in quality just in the South.

Bridgewater and E&H happen to be on my watchlists for the top 10 because they are undefeated, but they'll have a hard time cracking my votes until they get a signature win (which at this stage means beating R-MC, W&L or H-SC, provided those three teams haven't lost to someone else first). Either of those two teams staying undefeated through their first meeting with one of the presumed tops of the ODAC will get a good hard look for a top 10 vote from me. I've only had H-SC in the top 10 this year, and they fell out after losing to Huntingdon.

J---I made that call for you with Huntingdon.  :) Sorry I could not help it....

But I agree with Tigerfanalso: your analysis is impressive. Using CIA assets again are you?  ;)

I really though H-SC would take them at home. Was definitely bummed they didn't. I had H-SC fairly high up based on their performance so far this year. But losing at home to Huntingdon, who was marginal for my poll, dropped them right out. We'll see. My poll is heavy on the ASC (3 teams) and Independents (3 teams) right now. The ODAC and USAS are drawing a blank.
