I pray for the kids and families associated with the W&J program. Just horrible news.

My condolences as well.  I was lucky enough to tour the W&J campus - a small town and a tight-knit college community.

I don't think so. I just don't see H-SC losing 3 in a row. They are going to be mad right now. I think Guilford gets a road conference win at Shenandoah. I have no idea what to make of the Catholic at R-MC game. Catholics win over McDaniel doesn't mean much, the loss to Gallaudet is still pretty grating, the loss to CMU doesn't look that bad, and the win over H-SC was shocking. So can the "real" Catholic please show up? R-MC got rolled by a very good JHU, beat bad Averett and Bethany teams, and won the conf opener against a wildcard E&H. Is R-MC a good team that lost to a better one but is taking care of business otherwise? Or are they a mediocre team that got rolled by a good one and have taken advantage of bad teams?

ODAC games are always interesting because the conference is so competitive. We may not have a UMU, but we have a lot more intrigue!

I saw CU play last week. They are not very good and I don't see them beating RMC in Ashland. I doubt RMC will have 5 turnovers and allow 5 sacks. They are the numbers HSC laid the egg on last week and I don't see it happening again.

As far as HSC is concerned, I hope they are mad and if they aren't, the season could be done for the Tigers. They have been a strange bunch to figure this year. Played well against CNU and against Huntingdon, but poorly against Averett and CU. Saturday will be the deciding factor on the balance of their season, at least in my opinion.

Good luck to all excluding BC !!!! Let's hope we all see with good football and no injuries.

Concur Tigerfan....everybody walks off the field.

The Tigers should be mad J. But the botton line is watching these 2 teams since 2000; it was a whole bunch of time before HSC got the monkey off their back (beating the evil BC Eagles) and went to the show while BC watched at 9-1 or 8-2. It is murderous for this conference's ego that 3 teams sit that might produce a playoff win almost every year. The year BC and HSC only losses were themselves should have produced 2 playoff teams.

Back to the point: the home field for these guys when the money and rings are on the line usually produces the win    8-)

I will now go back to my PTSD meds and take a nap.  ;)

abnrgr -- I don't have a problem with it being a rivalry. But the Eagles have lost 2 or 3 ODAC games every year since their last undefeated conf title in 2005. The bottom line is, they have been a midlevel ODAC program since that unbelievable run from 00-05. Since then, H-SC has consistently beaten Bridgewater, including the last 5 in a row.

2011, H-SC by 14
2010, H-SC by 7
2009, H-SC by 19
2008, H-SC by 3
2007, H-SC by 7

I'm not doubting it will be a hard fought game, and I usually root for underdogs, but as lopsided as this series was from 00-06, it has been the same way from 07-11. In more than a decade it hasn't had anything to do with home field advantage, the team with better talent has won.

As for the ODAC having 3 teams sit that might produce a playoff win, I'm not sure I buy it. We haven't had a SINGLE playoff win in years, let alone teams that couldn't win the conf title being in contention for a playoff win.

R-MC took care of business tonight. Nice conference win. Just really leaves me scratching my head about H-SC.

RMC dominates 45-12.  Complete game from the Jackets.

W&L taking care of business against E&H. 45-28 midway through the 4th. Was 31-7 at halftime and midway through the third the Generals starting sending out mixed strings again. Since then E&H has crept a little back into it as W&L gave up a fumble 6. W&L has 2 punts, a fumble, a field goal and a string of TDs. 517 yards of offense already. The score shows closer than the game as W&L is doing a nice job taking care of business.

Quakers get a road ODAC win at Shenandoah today, 20-7.  Looks as though rookie QB Matt Pawlowski had an all-around good day.  Guilford moves to 2-3, 1-1 while SU drops to 1-4, 0-2.  BC in Greensboro Thursday night.  :)

Congrats Hasa! I thought your boys were going to be good enough coming off that 4th quarter last week. Definite improvement in that squad every week.

Big game next week as W&L and R-MC come in undefeated in ODAC play. Sadly it's Reading Days at W&L, so a long weekend with a lot of students off campus.

W&L does well to close out E&H 45-21. Over 500 yards rushing. 562 total offensive yards. Without the pick-6 fumble late, W&L played a great game. Got out to a hot start and never looked back.

This has really only been a real rivalry since the mid-90s, when BC was starting their great run of teams. From 1996 thru 2006 the Eagles won 10 of 11 games, including eight in a row '99 - '06. As jknezek pointed out, though, HSC has now won all the games since 2007. And prior to the 90s HSC dominated. I checked the archives back through the late 40s (although some years were missing) and could only find five or six wins for the Eagles.
On the other hand, until the past 25 years or so Emory & Henry basically owned the Tigers. Looking through the 50s and 60s I could only find one or two games that HSC won.
Just like anything in sports, it goes through cycles.

just returned from my trip to bridgewater.  thoughts on the game, Hampden is a little better than Bridgewater.  The eagles had chances to score but didnt so the game was closer than the final shows.  compared to the other teams I have seen play this year Hampden will have trouble beating most of them if they play them in the playoffs.  I know they still have to win out to win the ODAC, but they could do that.  So as not to ruffle any feathers I have seen Wesley, UMHB, Salisbury, Rowan, Del Val, Kean, and Brockport before today and that is my comparison level for Sydney and Bridgewater.
