Well i did not think GC-Q could have pulled it off. They did and I am happy for you Nova.  :)

Guilford fan---good background bro. I was one of those jerk offs who jumped on the QB controversy and I stand corrected. Big time

GC-Q 3-3! wow.... would not believe it.

Now I will go medicate myself. ;)

I guess the winner of the W&L vs. RMC game this weekend will be considered the favorite to win the ODAC.
HSC has a chance, but only if they win out and CU suffers another loss in the ODAC. Final two weeks of the season will be very interested if HSC can beat E&H, SU & GC back-to-back-to-back and if CU gets beat again. W&L has both RMC and HSC at home, RMC plays both W&L and HSC on the road. Not really sure if that really matters.

Yep. I consider this weekend's W&L R-MC game a bellweather. Winner definitely has the inside track. I'm very torn. I haven't missed a complete W&L game either live or over the computer since early last year, but with B-SC and Trinity playing in town I might have to go see that live.

Does a RMC win over the Bow Ties put other teams back in play for conference title?

A win either way doesn't really eliminate any of the contenders. The winner is simply the only undefeated left, but both still have H-SC, Bridgewater and Shenandoah still to play.  W&L will also have Catholic, R-MC will also have Guilford.

In terms of home/away, W&L gets H-SC and Shenandoah at home, Catholic and Bridgewater away. R-MC gets Guilford and Bridgewater at home, H-SC and Shenandoah away.

The only common opponent so far is E&H, with both teams winning. W&L at home 45-28, R-MC on the road 22-10. Basically the ODAC is so balanced that any 1 loss ODAC team is still very much in contention and even the 2 loss teams still have an outside chance.

H-SC remains the wildcard. Personally I slightly favor W&L this season. The offense has shifted into gear and the defense looks very good. They've given up points to both Guilford and E&H, but almost all came after the starters began to sit down. W&L has also won 11 in a row at home, and gets both R-MC and H-SC in the cozy confines of Wilson Field.

abnrgr - one of the many things i like about you is your honesty...you called that situation as you saw it at the time - i don't think you really "jumped on the QB controversy"...any time an upperclassmen who has previously started and had success is benched for a freshman, it's going to raise some eyebrows, especially if the freshman and team don't have immediate success - watching him on the gcq live feed vs. mu, i came away mostly unimpressed (for all but two drives in the 4th quarter against mu substitutes), too...it is clear that the young man has taken the coaching he has received and improved over the course of the season

first 2 weeks:
55% completion rate, 219.5 ypg, 3 td, 2 int, 0-2 team record

last 4 weeks:
65% completion rate, 221 ypg, 8 td, 2 int, 3-1 team record

It was a good feeling last night watching the Quakers win at home - hadn't happened since the RMC game in 2009.  Guilford played with poise and determination.  For the medication, may I recommend some Jack Daniels - for medicinal purposes only, of course?

narch, thanks for stepping up as Statman on Pawlowski.  I tried to give you +1, but got shot down ... seems you can't do it twice in 24 hours.  :)

you aren't the only one abnrgr.

back on Sept 20 I posted this stinker of a forward looking statement:
"Given the chatter on this board though, I'm thinking Guilford could go winless this season. Never a good thing."

Glad I was wrong.

Thanks Narch.

Anyway I would love to see a knock down drag out on the last game of the conference games to see who goes to the show. I love that often violent cat scratch fever people get when the ring is on the line in the last 2 minutes :) Lots of people have to stand up and be counted. Love it

Congrats to Guilford on the upset win last night but as for Thursday night ODAC football?  Hope it doesn't find its way to Ashland-- even though we finally have lights.

GO JACKETS!!!

Catholic is just pasting Shenandoah tonight. I don't think Shenandoah is going to enjoy their first couple years in the ODAC.

34-7 Final and SU thought they had a shot of winning this game as like they thought they could beat Guilford too.

Quote"It's going to be a battle," Paul Barnes said. "Every game we have ever played with them [Catholic] has been a battle. It's been down to the wire or whatever, and I'm assuming it's going to be like that Friday night."

IMHO, SU needs a change of leadership to get the program turned around which has only won 21x's out of the last 76 games since 2005.

Actually, there are published reports that BC Coach Mike Clark asked Guilford to schedule this game on Thursday night.  I'll have to say it was a better crowd than the Saturdays when GC students had already left for fall break.  I don't think it'll be a regular thing - just case-by-case as the situation warrants.  In fact, this was the first time Guilford had played a home game on Thursday since 1966 - and that was Thanksgiving day.

Well, I think W&L staked their claim to the inside track. Now they have to follow through. I didn't get to watch the game since I was watching the better part of Trinity take B-SC at home (if you want my thoughts on that, they are on the SAA board). But I did keep an eye on the stats on my phone. Looked like a dominating performance. W&L started strong again and never looked back.

473 net rushing yard from W&L. The General's offense has improved every week and I'm thinking that week 1 loss was a combination of F&M having a ton of time to prepare and W&L breaking in a new QB after a 4 year starter. Now that Lombardo is fully settled in, W&L is a bear to stop.

An angry Bridgewater team, with extra time to prepare and at home, will be another ODAC test for W&L. Get by that one and it's an impressively (and surprisingly) strong Catholic team in D.C., then H-SC and Shenadoah at home. Lot of season to go and the next 3 weeks include nothing easy for W&L, but if they keep playing like this it's going to take someone's very best effort to slow them down.

Just a side note, keeping W&L off the field doesn't mean stopping them from scoring. The Generals racked up 511 yards total offense today in less than 22 minutes TOP. You can't give up 11.5 yards per rushing attempt and expect to be in a game.
