Way to go, Quakers!  Guilford 38, RMC 35  Final

NFL15

Can't wait for the big game next week, Guilford at Hampton-Sydney. The highley touted D1 QB from HS against the little D3 QB from Greensboro, NC. Looks like a DAVID VS. GOLIATH game to me.

well well. We got cat scratch fever next weekend in the ODAC. For the MARBLES. GC-Q!?

HASA- I got some sedatives for you :) CONGRATS for getting a shot at the show

Well, hats off to Bridgewater. They came to the game today and played great. Completely deserved that win. I missed the 4th quarter since my daughter's 3rd birthday party started, but wasn't surprised by the final score. The Eagles had it together, and the Generals didn't. ODAC is going to be wide open! Sadly, the winner is going to get sent somewhere really unpleasant for the playoffs.

abnrgr, it is an exciting prospect.  Never saw this coming after week 2.  The Quakers are 3-0 on the road this year, so who knows.

Guilford first year QB Matt Pawlowski continues to impress.  He was 24 of 37 for 354 yards and 4 TDs versus RMC ... and had no interceptions for the 3rd straight game, all GC wins.  I know there was some passionate discussion in this forum early in the season about a freshman getting the nod over last year's starter, but I think this kid may be headed for ODAC ROY.

I agree with you hasanova. He's playing really well. Most reasonable football fans felt the Guilford coach deserved a chance. A couple of others on this board were ready to have him fired.  Guilford like you said is 3-0 on the road - HSC has not lost a home conference game since the RMC game in 2008. Something has to give. Should be a fun game. I know I'm looking forward to it.

By the way, interestingly all 3 first place teams - GC, HSC, and WL are all playing with a new QB this year.  Who woulda thunk it?
Hampden Sydney College
ODAC Champions 77, 82, 83, 87, 07, 09, 11, 13, 14
NCAA Playoffs - 77, 07, 09, 10, 11, 13, 14
The "Game" 60 wins and counting...
11/18/2018 Wally referred to me as Chief and admitted "I don't know about that!"

I'm seriously thinking about heading to Sydney on Saturday.  I've been to HSC's campus, but never seen a game there.  Might as well make my first game there one where there's something on the line!  The Quakers are playing with confidence and have certainly matured as the season progressed.  Might even drive the Nova for good luck!  :)

It's a fun place to see a game Hasa. Well worth the trip. Congrats on the improvement. That team seems to grow leaps and bounds every week!

What a strange year in the ODAC. Makes for fun. It appears HSC may well have the most difficult schedule to finish the season with GC, W&L and RMC back to back to back. Hasa, congrats. Hope to meet you on Saturday.

Yea, those "couple of others" was GC previous QBs dad.  Fair is fair.... because you are the previous years QB, doesnt guarantee anything. Makes everyone fight and work hard for their position.

Where was RMC defense against GC? I wanted to watch GC against a good defense. They showed up for about 5 minutes in the beginning of the 2nd half. GC easily handled RMC the whole game on both sides of the ball. score doesnt tell the whole story - two fumbles resulting in TDs and a blocked FG, which should have been an easy 17 extra point swing from RMC to GC.
I trust this forum can let the QB issue at GC fade away.  At the start of the season, there were some understandable emotions involved and, hopefully, time will heal.  By now, it's apparent to me that Pawlowski is not your typical freshman QB.  Rusiewicz has only coached 17 games at Guilford, so he deserves the chance to put the team on the field that has the best chance to win.  If you're an athlete, he's also shown a willingness to put you on the field in another position - look at QB Chance Green's move to TE.

It is strange.  Thanks, this GC team is fun to follow.  I'd say there's a real good chance I'll be at Sydney on Saturday.

Yes, very much anticipated game vs a traditionally top ODAC team... however, highly touted QB?? Touted by who? His first school Vanderbuilt? or UT (which btw is 0-4 in SEC)? or you referring to the "package deal" which included his close friend highly touted Da'Rick Rogers (top WR recruit)?.... Not selling me on skill based on a D1 roster on his resume.

Interesting how the "little D3 QB" from greensboro's interception column is also little (4, with 0 in last 3 games), which is much more highly touted than the 10 Nance has thrown against weaker defenses.

Hope nance can relax and stay poised in that backfield with the GC D-line and #7 breathing down his neck, or else that INT column will continue to grow!

I'm sensing a lot of pent up Guilford enthusiasm here. Nice to see people getting excited about their teams, but it is always good to tread a little lightly...

Hampden-Sydney highly touted him, at the very least. I think we tried to take a wait-and-see attitude ourselves.
