If a kid is recruited by SEC schools, he is a highly touted HS player; that's a given. Nash is doing the best he can and will continue to improve with each game he plays. GC vs. HSC on Saturday, I hope both teams play well and the best team wins. Save traveles to HSC if you plan to attend and good luck to your Quakers !!!!

Third ODAC Offensive POTW this season for Pawlowski:

Pawlowski was recruited by both Liberty and VMI, but thought Guilford was his best fit.  I think he has to be a frontrunner for ODAC ROY.

He's doing a great job there's no doubt. Being recruited and being offered a full scholarship is very different. That statement has nothing to do with the HSC QB.  It's just a fact. All D3 teams' rosters are full of players that were recruited by larger schools.

You're right, this statement has nothing to do with the HSC QB.  In fact, that's why I didn't mention him.  I have no idea if Pawlowski was offered a scholarship or not.  Saying he was recruited by Liberty and VMI was actually a pretty innocuous statement.  :)

From this week's d3football.com Team of the Week:

WR Adam Smith, Fr., Guilford
Smith caught a game-high 10 passes for a career-high 190 yards and two touchdowns at Randolph-Macon, including the go-ahead score with 2:02 left in regulation. The converted quarterback also threw a 51-yard completion to set up a third-quarter touchdown and help Guilford throw for 405 yards.

... a little more proof that Coach Rusiewicz will put you on the field in another position if you're a good athlete.

Congratulations, Adam!  "The Wealth of Quakers" - a great athlete and a great economist - wow!  :)

Given the state of the ODAC and all of the "unknowns" associated with the league this season, how do you see the games playing out this week? Will W&L regroup and get back to their winning ways ? Will HSC be able to fight off the resurgent GC Quakers ? Will BC be able to sustain the level of play illustrated last weekend ? Will E&H collect another ODAC victory ? Will CU pull another major upset ? Will RMC regroup and finish the season strong ? I sure you have thoughts and insight that should make for some interesting conversation on this board.

I think we just have to admit that this year the ODAC is an "any given saturday" type conference. They are all good teams, no great teams, and no one seems able to put together solid efforts week in and out. There isn't a team in the ODAC that hasn't been shelled at least once this season.

Personally I think W&L will regroup, but they are having trouble on the road. They have played 1 good road game this year, at Guilford, and other than that they flubbed F&M and Bridgewater, and labored for 3 quarters against Sewanee. Going to Catholic will be interesting. W&L has the talent, I'm not sure they have the mental toughness to play on the road effectively. I am hopefully the coaching staff won't call another pass play from 4th and goal on the 1 yard line again. Or that W&L won't continue to lose fumbles at a prodigious rate like they did at Bridgewater. Can the defense tackle, or will Catholic be able to turn routine 15 yard passes into 60+ yard touchdowns because the first 3 defenders failed to wrap up as happened at Bridgewater?

Last week was just a complete fail from the offense (turnovers), defense (giving up big plays with bad tackles), and coaching staff (really? a pass play from 4th and goal at the 1? that was laughable). If W&L played 10 times against Bridgewater in a split home/away, I would expect W&L to win 7. Of course, if I was an Eagles fan after watching last weekend, I would sincerely scoff at that thought.

Bridgewater played a very strong game. They didn't make mistakes, took advantage of W&L's mistakes, and that's how you win football games. They have talent and were clearly prepared. I don't see a reason why they can't beat E&H. Especially since it is at home.

I think HSC will handle the Quakers at home. The Quakers are a team on the rise, but winning at H-SC, against a team that knows they need to win out, is a different kettle of fish than getting a depressed R-MC team that pretty much saw their post-season dreams become very shallow the week before.

E&H will probably beat Shenandoah at home in two weeks, but I don't expect them to win at Bridgewater or against Guilford provided the Quakes keep their confidence up.

I think Shenandoah is the bottom of the conference and I don't think they will get an ODAC win this year. R-MC will handle them easily this week, and then the game against Bridgewater will be important for how the Yellow Jackets feel going into "The Game". They will always be up for the rivalry with H-SC, but riding a 2 game winning streak will certainly help. Not sure if they have the horses to dominate Bridgewater, but they do get them at home, so the Yellow Jackets should win that one.

CU's chance for an upset comes this weekend. Can they take the Generals at home? Sure, but only if W&L plays like they did last weekend. I expect them to have a very entertaining game at Guilford, probably a toss-up, and then home for Bridgewater which I also expect to be a toss-up. I wouldn't consider Catholic beating Guilford or Bridgewater an upset.

Guilford could easily finish the year 5-2 in the ODAC. A big improvement. I can also see 4-3 from them, again a big step forward. Catholic will be interesting, but they should beat E&H, even though it is a road game.

Opinions please....if I'm going to be in Silver Spring, MD, on  Saturday the 27th, what would be my best game to see within an hour and a half?

I personally cannot say with regards to games within 1.5 hours DOC but I did like that Linfield cheer at the bottom.... :)

I'd go see either W&L at Catholic, which is in DC, or Johns Hopkins at Ursinus, which is in Collegeville, PA.

Johns Hopkins, Catholic, and Gallaudette are all home. W&L at Catholic might be the best game. Ursinus at JHU, I don't think the bears can hold them. And I'm not sure about Gallaudette versus whoever they play. A little farther but Del Val and Leb Val might be incredible. St John Fischer is at Frostberg. CNU is out of town. Shenandoah wouldn't interest me.

Thanks people.
If I went to see Catholic play, maybe PC would publish a picture.

I was under the impression that Johns Hopkins was away in PA.
How far at 7 mph over the speed limit from Baltimore to Collegeville, PA?

Via I-95 and according to Mapquest, Collegeville, PA is 118 miles (2 hours, 19 minutes) from downtown Baltimore.  If you increase your speed, maybe closer to 2 hours.
