The turf itself for Catholic is SprinTurf (St. John's uses this) and they're raising $750,000 for it. The total goal for Catholic's entire project, which includes other parts of the DuFour facility, is $2.8 million.

Hey, Llamadude,

When are you going to mail your check for $2.8 mil payable to Bridgewater Athetic Department.

And don't say it's in the mail.

I, too, would love to meet CNU @Jopson in the playoffs.

You listening CNWhooooooooooooo?

The biggest improvement BC can make is to get rid of the chicken farms. Wait, you can't do that either, because you don't want to loose your biggest source of fertilizer for the field.

pakownr97

Ok, I know this is way premature, but BC has a bye week, and most of us are bored so here goes.

Right now, the top 3 teams in the South region are all from Texas.  Given the NCAA's insanity in the past, how do you think they will address this issue assuming the only loss for any of the three will be the UMHB/HSU loser?  Also assume that game will be a nailbiter, keeping all three Texas teams in the Top 10.  I know polls don't count with the NCAA, but now that we have 32 teams how do they handle it?

You thoughts, gentlemen (and lady)?

get your insults correct.  It is turkey fertilizer, not chicken.

By the way, I've never been to Emory, VA but it doesn't look like you've got much of an urban culture, either.

muchacho

I've been to Emory on several occassions, and it definitely has a bovine culture.

biggest improvement BC can make is to increase their tolerance for Humble Pie.

CUA will be serving plenty of it. Maybe this year, maybe not. But BC should definitely start increasing their appetite real fast ya dig?

E&H bought out the Dairy farm next door to the campus, so we haven,t had to worry about the cattle dung anymore. Hopefully, heard that they might lease the land out again to a cattle farmer. I would still rather smell cattle dung then Turkey.

Clark wasn't saying CNWhooooooooooo when he wanted to drop us from the schedule. Remember he didn't want to go into the HSC game beat up like they did the last few years. Guess when he first signed the dotted line He never thought the young Capts would grow up as fast as they did and start laying our claim as the king of D3 VA.  ;D

Yeah the playoff game hurt Ill give you that. But in the words of my boys when we are playing Madden. "I BEAT YOU LAST".  :D :o And like Teddy Bruschi of the Patriots said CNU doesn't loose trophy games. 2-0 in bowl games. HA HA..

Anyway, with the success that Bridgwater is having improvements should be made, the football team deserves that respect. I feel that Emory would not been in the place it is now if improvements had been made sooner to the weight room.

The CNWhooooooo thing is a nickname for CNU85 who used to post on our board too.  It was not meant to be an insult of Christopher Newport University taken as a whole.

Second, Clark DID know that CNU would be good in a very short period of time.  He said so several times, but I don't know where to find his quotes.

Third, to call CNU the kings of D3 VA is a joke.  Bridgewater College is 8 wins and 5 losses in D3 playoffs, where it all counts.  Those 5 losses include a loss in the Stagg Bowl (for all you other Virginia D3 schools, that's the national championship game that's played right here in good ole' Virginny) and one loss in the national semifinals in Alliance, OH an even tougher place to play.  So, after CNU gets to Salem and Alliance, we'll talk about who are the kings of D3 Virginia.  Until then, no need to talk, because the Bridgewater players did the walk in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and will again in 2005.

If you wanna talk this year, BC is currently ranked in the top 20 in both polls, AFCA and D3football.com, while CNU is not ranked in either.

If your team can win your conference, maybe you can come to Jopson for a visit, we'd love to see you at Stone Station.  Come to our place this time.   :D

I heard an interesting story this morning. Seems that Skoaltrain used to run races for cash in his earlier day. Story goes that he lost a race (and a c-note) one time to a dude who was smoking a cigarette right before he got on the line. The dude also outweighed him by about 40 pounds. Any truth Skoaltrain? Wayne Morten?

For a white guy running against a guy who was a former All-American at Gardner Webb, I did pretty  good!

One. You need to calm down because my comment was to be taking as a joke. I just wanted to poke fun at the fact that Bwater and CNU can't play each other unless both teams make it to the playoffs.  As far as the king of VA thing goes how can you call that a joke. Get a grip being the king of VA has nothing  to dowith playing Mount Union in Alliance or how many playoff losses you have and so on and so on. And so what your beloved Bwater is ranked ahead of us in both polls. Bottom line is if Bwater had played Salisbury and Rowan you would proably have 3 losses and not just 1.  Running off at the mouth about what your team has accomplished in the last few years as soon as someone says one little thing about being the king of Va is what I will call a joke.  But since you wanna go there why didn't you include the many many years of Bwater getting slapped around becasue Im thinking they heavily out weigh your teams recent success.

Notice I didn't say the historically most dominant D3 team in Va and if you read it correctly I Said making our CLAIM as the D3 Va. king.

For historical purposes CNU has never had a losing season what other team in D3 football history can SAY THAT.  ;)  :o

Pak...

Don't worry about the smell around BC.  We don't have to deal with it.  It's people that use "loose" instead of "lose" and "then" instead of "than" that WORK in those chicken and turkey farms so we don't have to.  Thank you E&H.

If ya haven't figured it out yet, BC only talks big when it has a good idea that things will go BC's way. (Well most of us that is) ;) Get your program upto BC's level then we won't talk to much. As for this year, you got a great receiver and a young talented QB, may be enough, maybe not? Guess we will see come Nov. 12th!
