It's a big joke to me. I was stirring the pot a little to get them going. I have no dog in that tussle I just like people being excited about their team

Yeah. And I'm just not the smack talking type, especially given W&L's two previous post-season adventures.

Just getting around to reading the board today after this weekend's game, and I see that I caught it pretty hard for my "Little Pedro" reference.  I can see why.  As soon as that came out I thought, "That doesn't sound so hot."

Well, my partner on home games, Rob Stanley, was a legendary RMC linebacker (and college coach for many years--RMC, Ashland U, VMI) in the 80s.  It just so happens that he was known as "Little Red."  He, to my chagrin, got a MAJOR kick out of it and repeated it a couple of times.  On-air I urged him to move on from that.  Rob is a good friend of Coach Arruza and assured me today he would not take offense, and I hope that's true.

If you do 30 games a year for 20 years you WILL say something unintentionally odd or offensive at some point, and I really try to minimize those.  I put some serious travel time in for this 2nd job (I have a family and a real job as a financial adviser with its share of intensity), and I try to serve the game and make it fun.  Sorry if we miss the mark on occasion.

Thanks for the explanation Tiger Mic.  We have great respect for all our coaches at R-MC & are glad to know that he did not take offense to those remarks.  But the level of abuse then directed toward 78rmc who simply expressed his thoughts (and he was not alone in what he thought!) added insult to injury.  We hope he doesn't leave the boards for good.  And we hope everyone learned that we ALL need to be more respectful toward our leadership.  GO Generals!

When your expressed thoughts are to call someone a borderline racist you typically can expect some criticism.  Further why is his expressed thought of calling the announcers borderline racist an opinion but my expressed thought of calling his comment borderline stupid an insult?  Is he and are you really that sensitive?  Tiger Mic seems to be a stand-up guy. He says he made a mistake. Move on.

A note to my Stone Station friends and those friends from other schools I have met at the Stagg Bowl.  I am sorry I will not be able to make the Stagg Bowl this year.   :P

I have scheduled another rather expensive vacation for the end of December and the beginning of January and cannot justify the expense of going to the Stagg.  While I will definitely miss the game and all my friends, if you click on the link below, I think you can see why I am looking forward to my son and I going on vacation.  Everyone stay safe and I will see you again in the future!

roo my friend, going to miss you again this year.  hopefully one of our teams will make it and i can cheer for them instead of someone else this time.  enjoy and happy holidays to you and your family.

Quite frankly, the teams that have been able to compete with Hobart are generally (no pun intended) able to pass well. Hobart seems strong against the run. I will cheer for W&L and listen to the game but the Generals are the underdog. However, as a BC fan, we saw W&L on their worst day of the season and W&L is a much better overall team than what they showed that day.

Jeremybozz

7-0 W&L. A little over 10 minutes left in the 1st Quarter. Impressed by the Gennies so far.

Jeremybozz

14-7 Hobart but W&L is driving. 1st and goal W&L.

Now we know.

He had rather go fishing than watch the CRU win the Stagg Bowl.

He just tempted the Fates!   ;)

Yeah, but what a fishing trip! I have caught six sailfish (120-150 lbs), two striped marlin 150-175 lbs) and lost a hookup on a blue marlin estimated at 300 lbs when the gears on the reel stripped.  >:(   :'(

I have to get a big one before I am too old to get it to the boat!  ;)

W&l just did not have enough horses to beat Hobart. First time they weren't shelled in a playoff game. Guess I will have to settle for a moral victory. This was a team that could have won a game with a better seeding. Shame about the Bridgewater game. That was a killer. Congrats to Hobart.

Sorry about your Generals loss. I guess we'll have to wait another year for a ODAC playoff victory. Getting to be really old !!! When will the ODAC release COY, etc ?
