Thanks to the camera of Llamaguy ... he captured a great moment of sportsmanship.  After Brandon Borst knocked down the final pass of the game for H-SC last weekend, Sydney's Brian Rolander fell to his knees - obviously in disappointment.  Eagles' Brian Awkard - a fellow WR - went over to shake his hand and congratulate him on a game well played.

Also, in the background is hobbled tri-captain Craig Smith (red shirt) who went out on the field to help out fellow LB Borst who was pretty banged up by the end of the game.

Also, I posted tailgating pics on my web site's photo gallery.

Sounds like CNUsedFinest gets his panties in a bunch when people actually respond to his outlandish statements. Just for the record BC is 1-0 against Rowan. And the Rowan team we beat is not in comparison to any of the Rowan teams since. You all lost to Shenandoah. That is like losing to Temple in D1. Yeah they win games but they don't count. ;D. For the record those games in the regular season we werent looking at you guys, we were looking past you. We beat you win it matters.

What were so outlandish about my statements and when did I get my so called panties in a bunch. Yeah we lost to SU a few times in the past Giggdy Giggdy  ;D but I guess we could use your statement of "we beat them when it matters and for the record we were just looking past them". As far as being 1-0 against Rowan, I don't mean to start old news but I saw the Rowan clip on Kids website. And lets just say I CLEARLY SEE WHY HE TITLED IT WHEN TIME STOOD STILL.  And I will give credit where credit is due. The BC team that took Mount to the wire was a special group but can you honestly tell me that BC fans wouldn't have the same grip if the shoe was on the other foot. I mean damn, people wanna talk about CNU having home field advantage against BC when we beat them, because our 2 wins against them came in the 757. But at least we took care of our business in 60 min and not 60 min and a few extra seconds. I would also say that no other BC team can compare to the 01 group as well so that statement takes care of itself in my book.

Yeah Im going to take heat for this but I really don't care. Now obviously we are all washed up adults, thats why we post so frequently on this board back and forth so answer this ? for me. What if the Rowan game had ended at 60 min, what kind of impact do you think that would have had on the success of your program. I mean a deep run in the playoffs does wonders for a program but I am positive you guys got a ton of recruits by showing them a highlight tapes of a national championship game in which your team came within 4 points of winning. Im sure plenty top recruits came to BC soley on the legitimate chance of getting back to Salem.

There was clock wrongdoing in the BC-Rowan game?  Huh?

This is the first I've heard of it.  Do tell!

Thought I'd throw out there a random poll question since it's such a quiet week here on the ODAC board.

as far as the poll goes, I think VaWes would have an easier time at it -- any true sports fan in the country knows that the Hampton Roads area is one of the ultimate athletic recruit breeding grounds.

I was a BC student at the time and remember the tie with Davidson, a non scholarship 1-AA team and it was like the Eagles had won a huge game.

Just started reading Post Patterns.  Really impressed with the posts.  I'm a H-SC fan because my son plays there.  Great game last weekend even though H-SC lost again to Bridgewater.  Glad to see those of you who post to this site and good sports.  Even though we lost to you, appreciate your support on us winning out and hoping to get a playoff bid.  Maybe we'll meet you in the playoffs if both of us get that far.  I'd hate to go 9-1 like we did 2 years ago and not get an opportunity to show the other conferences that there are 2 deserving teams in the ODAC.

Welcome aboard Gunner! Looks like your son is quite an O-lineman at HSC and I'm sure JD appreciates having him there. We as far as BC folk tend to talk alot of smack during game week with each opponent, but truth be known will always root for the ODAC. I for one know that eventually BC will not be on the pedistal it is now but we want to enjoy the ride as long as we can. With the expanded playoff senario this year it gives us all a chance to try and get 2 ODAC teams into the dance for a change. Good luck, take care of business, and post that 9-1 record! ;D

I'd have to say that out of those schools Kid listed, Va Wes. would be most likely to field a football team.  From what I understand, they have the money and they definitely have the location and recruiting base.  You could take EMU off the list.  It'll never happen...they're a bunch of pacifists and football's way to violent for them.  I'm surprised soccer isn't.  Then again, those that can't play real football....play soccer.

Is it too early to start planning for Guilford's tailgate?

It's never too early :) ... I finished the Gameday program for the BC-GC game today (except I'll have to update the DIII polls/rankings on Tuesday morning).

Are we making Stone Station big for Homecoming?  I'd say do a McDaniel game repeat.

biggest improvement BC can make is to increase their tolerance for Humble Pie.

CUA will be serving plenty of it. Maybe this year, maybe not. But BC should definitely start increasing their appetite real fast ya dig?

until catholic holds BC below 500 yards & 50 points (other than on a field of 4 in deep mud), then you can speak humble pie. (see total offensive yards from games back until 2000 not including 2002).

You Eagles you
Don't have a let down. Somebody better knock Vogelbach's head off pretty quick. If he gets time you might get pushed. History has proven BC pounds GC on a regular basis, just don't have a let down. I hate to see Skoal open his wrists up with one of his PBR cans.  ;)

Interesting story, and you have to feel sorry for Northwestern College this Saturday....two games, and BOTH count.  I can see it now...the last quarter holding up four fingers on each hand to signify the eighth and final one.

They will win the first game by 5 TD's, the second they will win by 2 TD's
