Is a pacifist someone who uses a pacifier?

That is the funniest thing that I have heard in a long time. ;D  Well hug it could be if you wish to provide the pacifier. ;) ;)

pakownr97

Religion Major,

Despite the fact that BC and Guilford are religiously affiliated, the level to which the schools take their pacifism is not up to that of EMU.   Having a father who attended (and saw how they treated HIM as an ex-soldier) and more than enough friends who attended and worked there, there's no doubt in my mind that you wouldn't see a COLONEL Benson working at EMU.  They, as a general rule, don't even RESPECT the military there, while at BC and EMU they (the administration, board of directors, etc.) do.  I know we're talking football and not military, but it's an example.  Just because all three are pacifists doesn't mean they all take it as far.  Having said that...it may or may not be the biggest reason they would decide not to have a program, but my gut tells me that it's at least a large factor in the decision.

most of us do respect our military.  tell your father I try to thank God everyday for the things that I have because he and others like him fought so we could live the lifestyles we live.

boy, this must be a slow football week.

RUGs
I beg to "diffa sur". I cannot speak for any other school except for Guilford in regards to the military. They lost their ROTC department detachment after it was found it would not let the cadets use the campus to drill; however, they did in fact take the federal money for having a program. I believe the local chapter of Special Forces (AKA Green Berets) Assocaition got ahold of this. I of course will not divulge the retired officer who found this out.   I guess you rememeber the flap when they would NOT fly the National colors or play the national anthem a couple of years ago. (It offended the Moslem students) Make me throw up. >:( Except for the players you will not find somebody there who respects the military. Period!

Anyway back to football, BC better score quickly and alot because it will be bad for them to let GC hang around with Vogelbach. He looks like the deal at 6'2" 210lb with about 10 TDs in the last 3 games. 42-12 BC but they better bring their B+ or better game. I know the Eagles have 2 weeks to figure out how to get to Vogelbach so they will win but do not be complacent. I have not been able to say that for about 4 years.

Rugby Guy,
I will agree with you that BC does not take its religous affiliation as seriously as EMU.  I will also state that having very little contact with people from Guilford I cannot say how seriously they take their affiliation.  I myself am an active member of the Church of the Brethren and a pacifist.  That being said comparing the Brethren denomination to the Mennonitte denomination shows that the percentage of pacifists among the Mennonittes is much higher than that of the Brethren dispite both being offically opposed to all war on spiritual grounds.  Not that any of this really matters much toward football.  I would also like to appologize for how my fellow pacifists treated your father.  Now back to football... :)

CUA just picked up another win after Shenandoah forfeited for using an ineligible player in that game.  :o

Crap, I'm going to have to do all of my Quality of Win indexes over.

abnrgr,

Ok, Ok, we hear ya. Don't be complacent. We got it! Don't let Vodkabach pick us apart.  Gotcha.
I think we have seen a few descent QB's this year. He wont do anything we haven't already seen.

I'll take 42-12.

I'll take 42-12.

I'll take that also, but it will be more like 56-14 our 2's and 3's are playing better than the past and will pour it on at home for homecoming. You heard it here first!

Catholic makes a trip to Lexington tmw, in what should be a solid ODAC matchup. However, it will also be a showcase of some of the conference's top receivers in Bublavi, Martin, and Ward. Bublavi has a pretty big size advantage against the W & L secondary, but not sure that Catholic can stop the Generals deep threats in Ward and Martin.
Also, freshman all-purpose player Stuart Sitterson is turning heads for the Generals, as last week he returned a punt for a TD (3rd return score this yr), rushed for a TD, and also deflected a couple passes on defense. You may remember him from Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd last fall while still a high school player in Atlanta.
Look for the Generals to gain some momentum heading into the Hamden-Sydney game the following weekend.

W & L 31
Catholic 21

Bublavi and Martin, 2 TD's each.
