Well I think everyone is missing the point about the QB.

Does he wear underwear or not?

Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

The question is boxers or briefs really. BC at Shenandoah and yes we better take care of business so we can meet the mighty HSC boys at their place. And by the way, leave the kid alone. He's just trying to play a game and have some fun while he gets an education.

Congrats on the win. Never let the Tigers from The Mountain beat you !!!!

TigerFan: Interesting conversation. Sorry I  missed all of the fun. I didn't have access to a computer over the weekend but you more than held your own.

I can't say never, but they are on 9 years of trying. And they are 27 or so years past the last time they won in Lexington. The way we own Sewanee is about the same way Centre owns us, although lately our Centre problems have mainly been in Danville...

Thoughts on the HSC vs. CUA & the RMC vs. E&H games this weekend.

It's a chance to find out who is for real. To be honest, not one of these teams has beaten a good team. HSC and RMC lost to the only good teams they played and CUA and E&H haven't really played anyone they wouldn't have been expected to beat. CUA's win over CMU might be the exception, but given CMU's start to the year, and that the game was in D.C., I have a hard time believing that is a statement win.

Personally I think HSC wins. Catholic caught them sleeping last year, won't happen this year. Especially since CNU already caught them flat once. If Catholic wins, HSC is not the team we think they are. I'm torn on RMC and E&H. I think this E&H team is better than the last couple years. Just a gut feeling. I am given some pause by the fact that E&H looks like they rolled Ferrum, but Shenandoah also beat Ferrum. They eeked Maryville at home, and I think the Scots are maybe the 3rd best team in the USASC (maybe LaGrange as well). Then they blew out a Methodist team, on the road, that I don't think is all that good (despite beating Guilford, one of my reasons for questioning Guilford this year).

If the game was at E&H I'd take the Wasps. At RMC, I think the Yellowjackets win the first ODAC battle of stinging insects. But I'd be surprised if they won by more than a TD.

Thanks for your input and I agree.

Good luck to your Generals this week. Take it easy on Hasa and his boys.

My ODAC picks this week include:

HSC over CUA; RMC over E&H; W&L over GC; BC over SU

100% agree. Hey Hasanova we'd love to have you drop by our tailgate at Guilford. We might even have some bacon wrapped meats.  My son and another HSC player went to Ragsdale. We should have lots of friends and family. You will not be able to miss us. I'll have my tailgate trailer parked behind the baseball scoreboard. Should be a great time. Hopefully we can see you there.
Thanks, HSCTiger fan.  I'd love to meet all of you.  I have some duties at the Quaker Club tent, but for the most part I can come and go when I get a chance.  Remind me to send you my cell # through PM so we can make sure it happens!

My favorite stat from W&L's preview for the Guilford game:

NCAA UPDATE:
With its second straight 400-yard rushing effort against Sewanee last week, the Generals moved into second place in Division III in rushing yards per game (387.3) trailing only Springfield (393.5 ypg).  To contrast this note, W&L ranks dead last (242 of 242 teams) in Division III in passing offense with an average of 6.7 passing yards per game.  The next closest team is Luther, which averages 31.3 yards per game.

That's right folks, 6.7 ypg passing! Pack the box. 10 Guys down the line. Why does the option work? Not a dang clue but I love to watch W&L run it.

Teams have made the option work in the playoffs. W&L hasn't, but they've never been higher than a 7 seed in their 3 appearances. Starting in a hole is tough. But Salisbury has made it work for a couple good runs as just one example.

Great example, Salisbury runs the option well and it showed a couple years ago. However, I think a more balance approach helps to go deep into the playoffs. I have nothing against the option, when run effectively it poses a problem to many teams. I also think if a team throws the ball over 60 times a game presents a problem in the playoffs for that team. I think you have to be able to adjust in the playoffs and the good teams do, however the teams that have been one-dimensional have struggled against those good/great teams in the playoffs because when they had to do something they weren't accustomed to doing, it kind of hurt them and games didn't turn out in their favor.

Pat Coleman

One-dimensional offenses can get you a couple weeks into the playoffs but it's been a long time since one won it all.

Wow.  Twenty yards passing in 3 games.  I don't think I've ever seen it that lopsided between run and pass.  +1  Thanks for posting this stat.
