JK, If you are coming up Saturday, pm me and I will give you my cell number.  You are welcome to tailgate with us.

Too long a trip for me. I make a game every other year (Sewanee in TN) plus the class reunion games in Lexington every nickel. With a young family, 8hrs each way kills my weekends. But I appreciate the offer. I will be off the grid for the game, going camping at a state park, so it'll be a surprise to me whenever I get a chance to check back in. I'll have to catch a game tomorrow night on the computer or this will be the first weekend in a long time that I didn't go to or watch at least one game.

I have to admit, having been at W&L during the 19 year dry spell, I did not appreciate either of my visits to Selfe, so I'm not in a hurry to return. Enjoy the tailgate and the game. I hope it is a good one.

Little late in the week after, but congrats to any Shenendoah fans here.  I said before that Scott Yoder was as good of a hire as they could make and I really believe they'll be ongoing top 3 in the conference in a recruiting cycle.  They may not get into that conversation this year or next, but he's a good coach and even better person.

This may be true but it's a little early to tell. Yes Coach did get Shenandoah their first ODAC conference victory, in his first attempt. Very impressive. But it wasn't exactly like Shenandoah knocked Bridgewater down. Bridgewater self-destructed in the first half and Shenandoah got just enough out of it to hold on for a W. It happens pretty regularly in the ODAC. That being said, I have to believe Shenandoah is better this year than last and I am interested to see how they do going forward.

Would a win by any team be considered an upset after last weekend?

Let's see:

Shenandoah at Guilford   I'll go with the team that's 2-2, 1-0
Bridgewater at Hampden-Sydney  I'll go with the 3-1 team
Randolph-Macon at Catholic   Again, I'll go with the 3-1 team
Washington & Lee at Emory & Henry  Finally, I'll go with the team with an ampersand

Who the heck knows!  lol

I don't think the slate lends itself to the term upset this week. I suppose Bridgewater winning would be a mild upset since it is at H-SC and Catholic winning would be a mild upset given popular opinion. Shenandoah winning would probably be a mild upset since it is at Guilford and they would go to 2-0 in conference. I guess those would be upsets, but I highly doubt anyone would find them "earth shaking" after last weekend.

What's the chances of that working out perfectly? That's great. lol
I think I'll go ahead a call you the winner of the pick 'ems this week.

I gave up. My original pick'em and my picks on this board both have E&H winning at home. I just switched it to W&L on the pick'em not because my head says W&L has an advantage, simply because I can't give up on my Generals just yet. And the only fact I can grab on to justifying this switch is E&H ranks 201st in rushing defense.

You saw what happened to former Atlanta Brave Chipper Jones, didn't you?  He (correctly) picked the LA Dodgers over Atlanta when he answered a reporter's question and then had to throw the ceremonial first pitch in Game 1 to the Mascot because all of the current Braves refused to catch it for him.  So, if you ever want to stroll down Nelson St. again, you better pick the Generals!  lol

Unlike last week, your change is noted.   ;)

Thanks.  My first win of the season!

Well I guess that's the reason they play but I did not see WL winning and GC-Q having to lay +50 on someone to win. Yikes. Damn Generals messed up my pick ems. Back to Penthouse mag I guess . :)

Guilford all over SU with a 49-7 lead in the 3rd before the subs finished it out at 56-29.   QB Matt Pawlowski was 26 of 31 for 360 yards and six TDs before he left the game for good in the third Quarter.  Final score makes it look more respectable than it really was.  Who would have thought Guilford at 2-0 in the ODAC? ... hopefully, the team and coaches could visualize it.  Anyway, GCQ with 705 yards total offense (new school record) ... pretty balanced with 434 in the air and 271 on the ground.

Iknewpicking against the Generals was the wrong thing to do. After last week I feel like some sanity returns to the ODAC.
