Can I refuse to answer?

At this point I'm pretty sure if I picked Guilford, and they lost, Hasa would jump in his Nova, drive to my house, and give me a serious tongue lashing. So I think, for the purposes of not making him drive to Birmingham, I'll stick with H-SC.

But it should be a great game. Whoever wins the turnover battle and 3rd downs will win this game. If the difference is more than those factors, I'll be very surprised. But yes, I'm absolutely miserable with Guilford. In my pick'em I have been correct on the Quakers twice this season, Greensboro and Shenandoah. 2-5 is the worst I can remember doing with any single team since I started participating in the pick'em (granted it wasn't that long ago, but still), and at the time I thought the Shenandoah game would be close.

Tigers win this one 35-28.

On a different note, the new D3football.com site is beautiful. However, as far as ODAC schools go, only W&L, Guilford and Shenandoah have stadium pictures up. Everyone else has an ugly black box. Anyone have school connections? It just looks bad for those schools.

The Quakers are enjoying their underdog role.  :)

Randolph-Macon has a stadium photo.

A Guilford win on Saturday pretty much wraps up the ODAC title.  The only way that the Quakers could still lose the conference title after a win against the Tigers would be if they were to lose their last 2 games against Catholic and Emory & Henry, finishing 5-2, while Randolph Macon won their final three games against Shenandoah, Bridgewater and HSC, finishing 6-1.

On the other hand, if the Tigers defeat Guilford on Saturday and then W&L and RMC in the next two weeks, they will win the ODAC title, as they would finish 6-1 and have the head-to-head tie-breaker over Guilford.  As is true for the Quakers, the Tigers' destiny is in their own hands.

By the way, just for fun, here's one way that Washington & Lee could still win the ODAC title:

11/2 - W&L defeats Catholic
11/2 - HSC defeats Guilford, giving Guilford their 1st ODAC loss
11/2 - Shenandoah defeats RMC, giving RMC their 2nd ODAC loss

11/9 - W&L defeats HSC, giving HSC their 2nd ODAC loss
11/9 - Catholic defeats Guilford, giving Guilford their 2nd ODAC loss
11/9 - Bridgewater defeats RMC, giving RMC their 3rd ODAC loss

11/16 - W&L defeats Shenandoah, finishing with a 5-2 ODAC record
11/16 - Emory & Henry defeats Guilford, giving Guilford their 3rd ODAC loss

There are a few other ways that W&L could win the ODAC title, and there are also ways that Shenandoah could win the ODAC title.  Both of these teams' limited title chances hinge on HSC getting the win on Saturday.

And now we have Hampden-Sydney as well.

I thought about posting something similar the other day but decided I was probably the only one who cared. To be honest, I think it is clear W&L is not the best team in the ODAC this year, so even though I root for the Generals I'm not gung ho about thinking of ways for them to represent the conference.

I do believe that the difference between Guilford/H-SC/RMC/W&L this year is as thin as I have ever seen among half a conference. W&L may lose all three of those games by single digits, Guilford may win all three of those games by single digits. H-SC may win all three of those games by single digits as well and R-MC may win 2 of three and lose one by single digits.

Whoever comes out on top deserves the accolades of winning a very competitive conference.

I agree with Hasanova, Go Quakers.... I'm liking the calm before the storm. Perfect day for a game.

Never in all my days heard a coach make so many excuses for 1 player. The love must be strong.
