I wouldn't slight BC though! Bridgewater did have the first tailgate up and running at 0730 a.m. Stagg Bowl morning in Salem. And note: Bridgewater wasn't even playing that day. Now That Is Tailgatamania!

It didn't hurt that we were only 110 miles north of the game :)

Yeah that is true. But you tell me how many other schools, not playing in that game, close or not, that would show up to tailgate prior to an 11 a.m. kickoff. Especially one that is being Nationally televised with a cozy warm room to watch it in.
And newsflash: If BC is there or not again in '05 the tailgaters from BC will be back in that parkinglot come December!

What exactly happened after the HSC game last year?  I was tailgating behind Geisert and didn't see any problems.  There's no reason for this rivalry to get personal amongst fans.  Shucks, should it even technically be called a rivalry anymore since one team always wins? ;)

Hey E&H Dad, where's the scrimage? I would love to make it Sat. if its at Fullerton Field.

Miz,

I think they were speaking of the game in Farmville two years ago.  I was there tailgating in the parking lot all through the second half listening to the game on the a.m. radio and someone introduced Blueberry Moonshine.  Needless to say, we had some fun!  The fight was between a players Dad (who also happens to be from Lynchburg) and there was a big after game scuffle.  No arrests though.  I expect this year to be as hostile as it was two years ago.  But then again, I'd put Bridgewater's Crew up against HSC anyday.  Just look at their shoes.  Boots or Penny Loafers and you tell me who would win?

Skoal- Yeah, I remember that fight.  I think it was an HSC coach that sucker-punched the old guy.  Classy to deck a 55 year-old man like that.  Takes a lot of courage.

Happened after that big, fat lineman ran off the field after the officials crying about a couple of (correct) calls they had made and some thoughtful BC fans felt obligated to advise the young man to act his age in public.  Things escalated from there..........  Funny but I don't believe I saw a pink polo shirt or bow tie in sight after things got started.  Wonder why ;)

skoaltrain

Miz, that's funny!  I didn't notice any "preppy" clothing either.  Whoever sucker punched Neil's Dad picked the wrong guy.  That dude is quite fit for a 55 year old.  I wouldn't mess with him.  Now his son Brian is a different story.  I'll take him a minute. ;)

did that guy really say 12,000 people at E&H,....ok, I am playing Tiger Woods tommorrow at 11am.   I will be one of the 2500 at the E&H game.  Looking forward to the BC 1980 team being recognized Sept 3rd, great bunch of guys.

Yours truly has two ODAC quarterbacks on my fantasy team.

JD Ricca fell to the 13th overall pick and was a must take...

Todd Woods fell to a WHOPPING 49th overall pick, and I HAD to take him there.  At the least, I now have two QB's who will play four games combined against Catholic and Guilford.  Otherwise...for those who want to follow...

QB
J.D. Ricca (4) H-SC
Todd Woods (8) EHC
Sean Pfalzer (49) Grinnell

RB
Mark Robinson (4) SJF
Jason Adamson (20) W.Conn.
Nathan Wallick (27) Millikin

WR
Brandon Chambers (7) Thiel
Micah Dawson (27) Chicago
Kyle Pearson (29) Luther
Dusty Kain (36) Simpson

K
Brock Boland (7) Salisbury

D
Salisbury Def. (2)

The numbers in parentheses are their overall rankings from 2004.

BC fans:

I went to the Bridgewater JV intra-squad scrimmage this evening ...

I wrong up a little recap on the "game" ... I also took all the statistics throughout the "game" (so I made a little box score).

It's posted on my web site's message board, under "Junior Varisty Talk"

I don't know who is "best" at tailgating, but I will say I thoroughly enjoyed Bridgewater's hospitality during the game in Salem.  You guys made that day even more special for a UMHB dad from Texas.  Thanks again !!   ;D
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Miz,
I personally was refering the group(s) of HSC fans that tried to pick a fight with BC fans after the game last year.  There was some pushing and shoving.. followed up by some HSC fans kicking and spitting on cars  throughout the BC parking lots.  It was fairly pathetic behavior.  ::)

E&H will scrimmage Averett College at home Sat. O.K., guys no B.S. or embellishment, I have attended every E&H home game for the last two years,SOBER!!! I have yet to see the stands on the home side of the field nearly always filled and most often completely full. This is not including the folks in both endzones and the cheap folks in ther lawn chairs on the hill. Then we have the "HARDCOE GATERS" who can't find their way out of the parking lot. You guys do the math our place holds 5500. To the "NAYSAYERS", remember the truth will still be standing when hell freezes over! PEACE-I am the E&H Dad

I second that.  About the only good thing in the '02 Stagg debacle against MUC was hanging out with the BC crew.  They're good folks.

Wrighthall:  I remember that now.  I was one of the only people at Stone Station and the crowd was starting to roll out.  Some HSC boys came through Stone Station on their way to their cars and one of them stopped, looked around and got ready to peal a magnet off Brian Neal's Dad's Yukon.  I said in a loud voice "What are you doing?"  That guy jumped and turned around.  I walked over closer to him and asked him again what he was doing.....Scared the crap out of him and his boys.  By this time, some other BC Stone Station guys rolled in.. The HSC boys then decided to leave in great haste.....

You're right.  Their fans (not all, but a few rotten apples) tend to push the "classless" barrier.  That's why I probably won't catch one play of the BC HSC game since I'll be watching over everyone's 'stuff.'
