Yep. I'm hopeful the Generals will pull off an upset, but since I'd label it an upset, logic says HSC should take the prize. The 14-17 points is just because the Generals offense has struggled so much. The defense, while better, just can't be on the field for 35-40 minutes and not give up 35 points.

All that being said... TAKE THOSE TIGERS DOWN A PEG GENERALS!

I don't know. Some of those guys at Vanderbilt and Duke could pull it off. They're just drowned out by the slop that earns a "degree" from some of the other places.

Thanks, Scots13.  If there's one thing everyone at Guilford has to do, it's write ... and then write some more!  I suspect it's the same rigor across the ODAC.  I was a Math and Econ double major, so I can only imagine what the true English majors had to do.

No big deal. HSC is use to having the fan base of the other ODAC schools pull against them. I understand your position and would be doing the same thing if I was in your shoes. Quakers going to have a tough time up in the capital city. Good luck.
Hopefully it will not matter what GC does the remainder of the season but we all know the ODAC seems to be a little weird week over week.

I know.  I also understand you're hoping for the outcomes that earn you the trophy.  Let's face it, the next two Satrudays will be very interesting!  Safe travels and good sportsmanship to all.

English and journalism majors must hate themselves...I couldn't do it.

I was about $4k from being an ODACer (H-SC) with a lot of my high school buddies and they all resented the fact they had to take rhetoric. At Maryville we had Comp (same general thing from what I've been told-- 1 semester of writing and 1 semester of public speaking) and then an undergraduate thesis. I was an econ guy myself. Wrote what seemed like a textbook on the Icelandic meltdown with about half of it being regressional analysis. The regression was NOT fun.

At least, by the time of the Icelandic economic meltdown, I assume you were using computers.  I did a survey for my senior thesis (1970) and had to do all the statistical work by hand calculations!   (I did not even attempt regression, but did include correlations, including partial correlations, and ANOVA.)

I barely missed out on the fall of the Berlin Wall, if you want to do the math.

What is your connection to HSC ?

I was raised in Cumberland County and went to school in Farmville. (A lot of the guys each year from my HS go to HSC.) As soon as I found out what gasoline and a good time was I was over there all the time with buddies that were already there.  I also worked the chains and did the ball boying for a season, might have been a season and a half.

HSC almost got me too. Between a little more fin aid and my grandparents being in down here, I decided to become a Scot. Probably for the best.

I think is was 2007, maybe 2006. I've seen a lot of football since then and killed my fair share of brain cells, but I think it was '06.
