After more thought Kid, why didn't you pop the question last week since that was your anniversary?

Dooohhh! Thats right, there was something bigger going on in Hampden Sydney, VA last weekend! Attaboy ;)

Then I guess its safe to say the wedding won't be between August and December ???

And save a few spots at Grandma's table for the  Stone Station crew. Wouldn't want the Cumster to have all the fun! :o

Good Luck as it should be a great game! I'm sure HSC will be fired up as its been a long time since they have lost back to back games when Ricca was healthy. They will be "protecting their house"!

Not sure I want to lay claim to being "one of you."  The shoes you wear say it all:

59-0 and 47-14 over Trinity Bible and Macalester in the same day. Ok,NW is 5-2 and the other 2 teams are a combined 0-12.

C'mon people ... lets start talking about the match-ups this weekend.  I'll give you my two cents worth (plink, plink <--- stolen from Gordo) here in a sec...

Congratulations, Kid.

If you haven't set a date yet, don't listen to these guys, it's ok to get married during football season.

Just make sure it's during the bye week.

GO BC!

Washington & Lee @ Hampden-Sydney
Most people will look at last year and think the Generals will do that again, keep it close (only lost 31-28 to the Tigers).  But it won't.  Tigers win big in this one, and here's why.  Last year, Sydney had 11 drives of 15 or more yards.  Lee only had four.  The Tiger defense held Lee under two yards a play the other 10 possessions.  Also, Sydney had built a 17-point lead heading into the 4th, surrendering two TDs to the Generals in the final quarter.  Keep in mind this was the game (3rd quarter being the time) when Ricca injured his thumb.  He threw only two passes (both incomplete) in five possessions during the 4th quarter.  Finally, W&L graduated their two run stoppers in Lloyd Wilson (ILB) and Chris Caramore (DT) from 2004.  However, I love Lee's OLBs (Gallagher & Foster) and DEs (Murray & Wall).  I see them making Ricca run around some, but like last year, J.D. will get (like he got) what he wants (17-for-30 passing for 326 yards and 2 TDs).  The Generals finished 2004 with 43 sacks (4.3/gm) ... only two of which were gotten in the Sydney game.  This year, W&L has only 8 on the year (1.6/gm).  H-SC 41 - W&L 20

Emory & Henry @ Randolph-Macon
Sure, the Wasps have gone from 31.1 ppg last year to a dismal 9.4 this season, not to mention their 0-5 start to the season.  But last year, E&H was 1-4 heading into the Macon game and won by 27.  I'm not inferring that this year will see the same spread, but I like Henry in this game.  I listened to the first half of H-SC/E&H this past weekend, and it sounds like (play-wise) the Wasps are still a pass first, run second team under Monty.  Oddly enough, Todd Woods (their QB) had 18 completions ... none of which were to his two favorite targets last year in All-ODAC 1st Teamer Jerad Jackson and 2nd Teamer Brennan Stewart.  I see either Jackson or Stewart having a big day this week.  And you have to love Henry's fan following.  Although 0-5 on the season, the Wasps still bring in nearly 5000 fans a home game (lol).  Too bad this game isn't in Emory.  And even though Emory & Henry can't spell their first opponent correctly in Marietta (spelled Merietta on their web site), I like the Wasps in a close one.  E&H 34 - R-MC 24

La Salle @ Catholic
Not sure what you'll get with La Salle.  In 2000, Catholic went 4-2 in the ODAC but lost by 25 to La Salle (at home).  in 2003, the Cards finish 2-4 in the ODAC and beat La Salle by one (away).  So far this season, the non-scholarship DI-AA Explorers are 2-3.  Their five opponents have had a better time of gaining yardage on the ground (211.7 ypg, 5 fumbles) than in the air (206.7 ypg, 8 interceptions).  And the Cards seem to be a pass-heavy squad.  So who knows.  The Explorers are turnover prone though, with 17 on the year (9 fumbles, 8 ints).  This year, Catholic lost to McDaniel 37-36, McDaniel beat Ursinus 28-20, Ursinus beat La Salle 13-12.  Last year La Salle defeated the Cards by 34, so it seems I should take the Explorers ... but I'm going with the Cards in this one.  Tom Clark has doubled his school's offensive production from a year ago, and shaved off a touchdown from opponents scoring.  CUA 42 - La Salle 34

Guilford @ Bridgewater
First there is the obvious.  BC has dominated the Quakers the last five years (63-7, 50-10, 56-7, 49-14 and 64-0) outscoring them by nearly 49 points a contest.  This Saturday is also Bridgewater's homecoming.  But clearly Guilford's passing game has picked up with 282 passing yards a game to go along with 16 touchdowns through the air in their first five games.  But a non-existent running game (84.8 ypg, 2 TDs) won't get it done.  I see the Quakers putting up some points, but won't be able to stop Bridgewater from doing the same.  BC 52 - GC 27

Sounds like a pretty good analysis over-all Kid. I don't see Guilford scoring more on us at home than HSC did 2 weeks ago though. Guilford will score 2 TD's max unless they score some in garbage time against the 3's & 4's.  ;)

Now that you picked the fairly easy games, how bout some real match-ups:

UW-Lacrosse  vs. UW-Whitewater
North Central  vs. Carthage
UW-Stout vs. UW- Eau Claire

Obviously I didn't pick the other 2 biggees as they are already on the ODAC pick em'. I still contend the coin-flip method works best for me. ;D

Nice try.

Disagree with my analysis?  How do you think the games will go?

Their receivers are the real deal.  And their QB (evident from the stats) gets the ball to them.  They spread the ball out ... three, four wideouts every other play.  I do think our secondary will make some big plays (Vogelbach has thrown 9 INTs this season), but GC will definitely get theirs.  But the no run game hurts.  If we do give up scores, they better be big plays through the air and not long sustained drives (like what Hanover did) or runs (a la McDaniel).
