D O.C.

I tend to judge LINFIELD sports by the graduation rates.

Is there a Tiger running back to fear this year? Then that offense is top ten.

Our top two players in terms of rushing yards are back - Sr. RB Brady Macko at 562 yards and Sr. QB Nash Nance at 545 yards. Nance had rush 17 TDs and Macko 8 rush TDs.  If they are both back, have a junior and sophomore RB, but they have barely played so they are a mystery. Not sure what we have in the recruiting class though.

The recruiting looks pretty good - Stringfield from VES ran for nearly 3000 yards and had 30 TDs his jr and sr years (20 games) averaging over 7 yards per carry.  Henderson from Providence Day in Charlotte ran for over 1200 yards and 10 TDs averaging over 9 yards per carry.  Finally Jay Evans of Asheville Christ School had over 1000 yards and 10 TDs as a high school junior averaging over 7 yards per carry. I could not find any stats on his senior year.

The running back situation at HSC should be really good in 2014 IF the OL falls into place the way I think it will.

Hey tigerfan, how is the OL shaping up? Any ideas on the starters?

The positions are really in my opinion up for grabs between several players.  The players competing for these spots know this and should be working hard this summer to be ready for camp. I only know 1 of the potential OL very well and I know he's working out 5 days a week to be ready.  As for starters - Ritter's back, Lee,  Edstrom, Willis, Fogleman, Melnick, Kearney and I've heard they got a nice addition from a transfer. So there's 8 and probably more potential guys. I really think they will be a good unit.

What's the scoop on the 2 returning seniors on the OL?

tigerfanalso

Remember the HSC OL was a concern going into last year. The program reloads and I expect very little, if any, drop off in OL play this year compared to last year. New faces/numbers, but the OL will be good. Kicking game will be much improved, defense will be better. If you are a Tiger fan you have much to look forward to. OOC schedule toughest it has ever been with Wabash & CNU first two weeks of season, certainly the odac schedule will be tough as always. Another season where any odac team can beat the other on any given Saturday if the better team has a let down/bad day. I'm still waiting on JK, Hasa and TigerFan(and any others) to predict preseason odac rankings !!!!!

HSC
Guilford
RMC
Shenandoah
W&L
Bridgewater
Catholic
E&H

Just a guess. Haven't thought about it too much for this year nor looked at what's really coming back where. HSC should run the table, but we all know how hard that is in the ODAC. Guilford should outscore everyone but HSC. RMC, Shenandoah, and W&L feel like they should be the middle tier. Bridgewater, Catholic and E&H at the bottom. Not sure there will be much difference between the middle and bottom tiers and really feel like this will be, at best, a two team race this year. The next six aren't going to be separated by much.

My picks:
HSC
RMC
W&L
GC
SU
BC
CAU
E&H

Hasa will jump me for this but I'm not changing !!!!

jknezek

Hasa should jump you for that. W&L has to go to Guilford this year and they are going to be very young in all skill positions. At the very least you are over-valuing the Generals. Not real sure about RMC to be honest.

tigerfanalso

I'm not sure about any of them including my Tigers. Mostly picked the way I did to get Hasa's blood pressure up just a little.

I doubt you will. With what Guilford has gone through in the last decade, this season, barring a complete disaster, is going to be very satisfying for Hasa. He knows that and will most likely take a quiet satisfaction in it, knowing that a good turn over the next couple years will eventually be followed by a return to the wilderness at some point. As happens with all teams...
