Seems to me that BC posters are not really willing to admit that some guys on other teams are better than their guys. To me thats retarded. [...]

I've thought all along that Bublavi is the best receiver in the ODAC ... yes, over my beloved Eagle, Mr. Awkard.

Trader! ;D

I know there are better players at other ODAC schools but I will contend we have a few more as a group and have some back-ups almost as good as our starters. I know its 11 on 11, but when you are 22 deep on each side of the ball it sure doesn't hurt! ;)

If you had to start a team right now who would you take as a qb? I suspect anyone who says anything other than Ricca is just a little biased.
[...]

I don't see the need to bow to Ricca simply because he has gaudy numbers and a killer deep ball.  I think it's also unfair for label people as biased because of how they feel.  I would start a QB who can run when necessary ... Lewis has, Ricca hasn't ... proof:

In 2005, Ricca has -24 rushing yards on 35 rushes for -4.8 rushing yards a game and -0.7 yards per rush.  Take away the 11 times Ricca has been sacked (for -74 yards) and that gives him 50 rushing yards on 24 carries (2.1 yards a rush).

Lewis on the other hand has 186 rushing yards on 32 rushes for 37.2 rushing yards a game and 5.8 yards per rush.  Take away the 6 times Lewis has been sacked (for -40 yards) and that gives him 226 rushing yards on 26 carries (8.7 yards a rush).

Again ... just my opinion, hopefully not skewed with bias.

Then again W&J beat us in the first round last year with Chris Edwards who finished 2004 with -93 rushing yards for -2.1 a carry.  And Linfield won it all with Brett Elliott rushing 35 times for only 68 yards (1.9 yards a carry).  Then again, Edwards is 2-1 in the playoffs, Elliott is 4-0, and Ricca is 0-0.

I'm a SKINS fan too, and yes, it's been a good season so far.  Let's hope for 4-1 after Sunday.

Was fun eating at BW3s tonight with Llama and CBE.  Do you guys realize we were there for almost four hours?!?  I guess it was the plethora of JMU girls there that kept us entertained.  Llama, I called you once we left ... listen to your voicemail ... funny story about "that girl"!  Hahaha, wow.

Can you teach me how to tie a bow-tie?  My brother went to Sewanee and is going to give me one of his to wear at the W&L game :)

I'm definitely not the one to ask -- I didn't even know how to tie a regular tie until well into college.  Unlike most of the Southern private school boys from my alma-mater, I went to PUBLIC school......in WEST VIRGINIA (gulp).

JD Ricca is a fine QB who has come up a little short vs BC.
However, to say he is a "choker" is just absurd. If not for a roughing the passer penalty (on 4 th down after BC would have lost possession) in 2003 vs BC (a team that went to the Final 4) HSC and not BC would have gone to the playoffs. It also took an amazing catch by Awkard that year to win it for BC. I heard Mike Clark on his post game show say that "Sydney has been playoff caliber, especially in 2003."
HSC still has plenty to play for and may grab one of the 4 extra at large bids if they win out and beat Johns Hopkins.
I am proud that BC has done so well in the ODAC but HSC has been very competitive with us.

Skoal,

Change of plans!!!  Rugby has decided to just turn tomorrow into a football buffet.  I'll be up at BC as early as any potential hangover will allow and will go to the UVA/FSU game after the arse kicking the Eagles put on the Quaker Oats.
