Hasa, if you're ever down watching a CNU game take the extra time to visit the Black Angus. You won't regret it.

Gone already?

Probably afraid someone would figure out who he was or what his axe grinding was all about. Anyone get the email address? A .edu perhaps?
Highly likely he is @yortdeer on Twitter (has his name as sdeert). Tweeted at us with the Sarkisian and beer stuff, other frequent topics of discussion on there include football and antagonizing women and porn stars. Likely a current employee or alum of Heritage High School in Lynchburg given who he follows and who follows him. Likely a HSC graduate and/or former employee, highly probable current or former member of the HSC golf team given that he follows HSC golf on there, and nearly every single human that follows the HSC golf Twitter account is a former or current golf team member. Also follows several SEC related users, which would line up with the UrbanSaban username on here. Apparently a big fan of Oklahoma Sooner sports.

yortdeer is Troy Reed backwards, if you think that person is capable of being clever.

Good luck Hasa. A noble pursuit! I hope the Quakers show well against Methodist. This could be a big week for the ODAC. I really think only HSC and Catholic would be considered underdogs and I think both at least stand a chance, though I prefer Catholic at home to HSC on the road.
Thanks.  I only have one ODAC football venue still on my bucket list - Catholic.  Hopefully, I can make it there in late October!

It's been a lot of years since I went to them, since it was mostly my college years, but I believe only newcomer Shenandoah is missing from my list. Given where i live, I can't envisage a circumstance that will get me to a game there any time soon! Catholic is interesting in that it is such an urban venue. Other than that, you aren't missing much.
I made the trip to Shenandoah last year ... Shentel's a nice facility, but too bad it's on the other side of I-81 from SU ... I prefer when the stadiums are part of the main campus.

Others have described CUA's venue as you did, but I just want to go so I can visualize the environment ... to me, listening on the radio or even watching online changes once you see the place in person.

Different results from other ODAC venues:

1.  BC - only trip there was a 76-28 blowout loss ... 2007, I think.  Enjoyed lunch with friends at Stone Station ... is it still going?
2.  CUA - still on my list
3.  E&H - went in 2012 ... Quakers jumped out to a 10-0 lead, but lost 38-10.  Quaint little town, been there twice.  Remember eating at Macado's both times.
4.  GC - Despite their (sub)urban environment, GC has 300 acres of woods and a lake.  Beautiful campus and a nice onsite stadium ... GC has stepped up their game and their venue in the last decade.  Nice place to see a game.  I've been there so many times, I've lost count ... perhaps 150 times in person.  Many restaurant choices in the area.
5.  HSC - only trip there (for football) was last season's 35-28 OT loss.  Packed a picnic ... not sure about restaurants.
6.  RMC - have been on RMC's campus for several basketball games, but first football game was last October ... a well-played 28-7 Quaker victory.  Have eaten twice at The Iron Horse.
7.  SU - went last October ... one of two GC losses in 2014.  Big play game for the Hornets, 47-31.  Packed a lunch, so no comment on restaurants.
8.  W&L - went often in the 90's and again in 2013 ... never personally seen GC lose in Lexington ... VMI's there, two beautiful campuses, stadiums and town.  Disappointed with The Palm two years ago.

I guessed it.  I wish I hadn't. The guy was always nice around us.  His legacy on this board is first, he was a terrible prognosticator and second not to say anything on a message board and assume you are anonymous.

I just woke up and realized football is about....well good for you Hasa. 2-0 is not too bad so far.
Thanks, abnrgr ... Quakers have a fine team this season.

Oh yes, definitely -- I don't know if I would have made the connection if he hadn't said that first.

I was impressed with the Tigers last night.  The team and fan base needed a big win. HSC had lost 3 in a row going into last night's game. A streak in which our team and fans were not accustomed. It's only happen one other time with Coach Favret (2001). If the Tigers control the LOS the way they did last night they will be hard to beat.

CNU who is accustomed to being in the playoffs will need to pull a miracle next week at Wesley or their playoff hopes are effectively over.

A side note which has nothing to do with ODAC teams - A Lance Leipold team lost a game yesterday. It was the first time the former UWW coach whose now coaching the D1 Buffalo Bulls had been on the losing sideline since 10/27/2012!  His teams had won 33 in a row. That's a remarkable accomplishment.

Guilford is now ranked 25th in the D3Football poll. Congrats to the Quakers. They become the first team in the ODAC to be ranked other than HSC since RMC was ranked in 2010.

Thanks, this is a big deal for Quaker Nation.  In related news, Hell freezes over at noon today.

In the end the poll gets you nothing more than bragging rights. But I agree it's a big deal. Since D3Football started keeping the poll (2003) very few ODAC teams have ever been ranked.

I found the following teams have been ranked at some point in a season:
HSC
Bridgewater
RMC
Guilford

Only HSC (4X) and Bridgewater (3X) have finished a season ranked.

*I may have missed a team.  I did not look at every poll for each week for the last 13 years.

Of course it doesn't mean anything tangible, but, after 123 years of football, it's nice to say we were thought good enough to receive some recognition.  Hopefully, the coaches will keep the team grounded and focused on preparation and execution play by play.

Just read on ODAConline.com that RMC QB was the offensive player of the week. Very deserving with 376 passing and 99 rushing. I was just surprised to see he was a freshman. Does Pedro only recruit QBs every 4 years?  Their last guy Naccarrato was a 4 year starter.

I remember the bit of excitement when Wabash cracked the D3football.com top 25 for the first time.  It is really cool and congrats to Guilford for making it.  The D3 top 25 is pretty exclusive (top 10%).  In the years since, what I've found I like the most about the Top 25 is that the score and links (box score, recap, audio/video links) are located right at the top of the scoreboard page.  Membership has its privileges, gentlemen.   :)
