JK,

You must be on the H-SC payroll, lol. Isn't, H-SC's run a partial run?

...Other than respecting the job Coach Favret has done, which is something anyone with an objective mind can respect, I don't particularly like or dislike H-SC.  I appreciate the games W&L has played against them for their entertainment value.

ODACinsider aka UrbanSaban is anything but objective.  Unlike you he does particularly dislike HSC.

Most in the odac dislike HSC. Thats a compliment to Marty's success. Anybody that does not respect his accomplishments since 2000, is either a fool, does not understand football, or just flat does not like Marty, therefore refusing to admit he has been successful over there years as Jk has already pointed out. Either way, life is too short and full of negative people. I ignore and/or laugh at the fools and concentrate of the positive and those things you can control. Thank God HSC has Marty, his success is appreciated and is well documented throughout the odac and beyond. No sane person could argue otherwise. Now onto another exciting week in the odac. I'll await Jk's comments on how he sees the odac playing out this week.

W&L 45, RMC 31
H-SC 35, E&H 31
Catholic 24, Shenandoah 28
Guilford 48, Bridgewater 21

I thought last week was home week, I think this week is road week. I don't expect W&L to dominate RMC but I don't believe RMC can stop W&L's offense. Hoping W&L fires on 7 of 8 cylinders.

Game of the week. H-SC needs to rebound. Two conference losses is probably game over. If they can clean up some mistakes from last week they have the horses to win at Selfie. E&H pounded Bridgewater but something about that Maryville loss still has me skeptical about the Wasps

Catholic at Shenandoah is interesting. Shendandoah put up a lot of yards last week but didn't get the points to match. Catholic eeked past R-MC. I give Shenandoah the nod at home, but so far they aren't showing the step forward I thought they'd take this year giving up lots of points to both Bridgewater and Guilford. Pretty much a toss up in my mind between two teams that haven't shown much.

Guilford at Bridgewater. Bridgewater is a tough place to play. I've always said that. Hate when W&L goes there. But they just don't have the talent Guilford has. I think the Quakes are still feeling the W&L loss, and giving up a ton of yards to Shenandoah couldn't have given Coach R a warm fuzzy feeling. Expect the Quakes to know that every game is essentially a playoff game going forward and to take out the mid/bottom tier ODAC teams.

I'm going to hold you to the predictions, Tigers over wasps by 3 !!!!
Good luck to the Generals down in Ashland. Be kind of cool to see RMC 1-5. Not sure that has happened in awhile, nor has W&L been 6-0 in awhile !!! What the H&LL is going on ???

It's the ODAC. Not the best conference, but certainly a conference where at least twice a season you are confused by the upset you never saw coming.

like SU beating HSC at home or CUA beating HSC on the road. I'm fully aware of the unexpected pain the odac can inflict.
take any game for granted and you'll end up puking on yourself. we'll never win a national championship title but our fans/players certainly enjoy more entertainment during the regular season than does UMU as an example. Their goal is to go the entire year not allowing a score (boring), that is pretty much not going to happen in the odac. not sure if odac can take its play to a higher level on regional/national basis, not sure it can't, not sure i want it to, but regular season sure is fun to watch. any given saturday pretty much anything can happen !!!!

Oh yes. I agree. We get 7 weeks of really competitive football. Most conferences can't say that. I much prefer the ODAC to other conference dominated for a decade or more by one team. That being said, the ODAC has had it's runs. It's just lately that weird things have happened and even those weird things aren't making for such odd outputs. H-SC and W&L are still the only conference champs in a long time.

But I do enjoy knowing that the 4 ODAC games every week are probably going to be good games and not ridiculous blowouts.

and if you play wabash and cnu ooc, you get nine weeks of competitive football. i here cnu is trying to back out of playing hsc after next season, the wabash deal is done so it will be interesting to see who we pick up. would love to add maryville, salisbury and centre ooc but i'm certain there will be complications in doing so and coaching staff might object to three competitive ooc games.

JK I know you don't make it to many games but another aspect of ODAC football that I personally love are the venues in which the teams play. IMO every team in the ODAC either has a great facility or enjoyable location. CUA IMO has the worst stadium but I love visiting DC. HSC and EH have the most isolated locations but they pack the largest crowds into fantastic facilities every week. They're  ALL beautiful campuses.

My son was recruited by CNU. CNU has a great campus, stadium and spectacular weight room.  But knowing he'd play 2 games at Averett, NC Wesleyan, Methodist, and Greensboro over 4 years was not a big selling point for CNU. All the ODAC schools should be selling the venues in which they play to recruits.

I agree. I've been to every ODAC stadium except Shenandoah (although this is many years ago now). W&L's massive, outdated, monstrosity was the league eyesore for probably close to 2 decades but the refurbished stadium is really nice. The game day atmosphere still needs work, but so few of W&L's graduates stay in the area it just is not going to be a huge attendance draw. VMI often playing higher competition next door puts W&L in a tough spot for drawing the community as well.

It is interesting that the ODAC schools aren't the richest around (excepting W&L), but they have all spent money on athletic facilities and all have really good ones. I guess that was a point of differentiation.

i think hsc endowment is around $250mil, not large in the scope of things but i'll wager it is close to the 2nd largest in odac.
mere pocket change when compared to W&L. i have never even thought about it but the facilities are nice throughout the odac.
another reason SVA would be a really bad fit for the odac. change the by-laws and bring in cnu, or get roanoke to start playing football. saturday in october would be very enjoyable in the valley !!!

You hear CNU is backing out after next year's game, which I assume would be at H-SC?  That means CNU would agree to play H-SC at their place next year, then want nothing to do with them coming to Newport News?  Doesn't seem to make sense....

tigerFanAlso2

we'll see what happens. i would hope the cnu vs. hsc game becomes an annual event, good competition not too far from home.
could build into a rival game over time.
