Randolph-Macon   at     Bridgewater
Hard to care about this one. I'm going to go with R-MC even on the road. I feel like R-MC has been gaining speed and Bridgewater has lost 4 straight and only one of those was competitive. Jopson might be a hard place to play, but I'm thinking Bridgewater is looking ahead to next year at this point. RMC 24 -- 17 Bridgewater

Emory and Henry        Shenandoah
I really didn't see much from E&H last week that gives me faith they were a team to be competitive at the top of the ODAC. However, they have beaten the bottom of the conference and lost to the top and I expect that will continue. E&H hasn't lost on the road yet this year, all three losses, to good teams, have come at home. Shenandoah is hosting and they aren't a very good team. E&H 35 -- 24 Shenandoah

Catholic        Washington and Lee
This is all about motivation. W&L is at home and trying to wrap up the conference. Motivation shouldn't be in short supply, but games like this can sometimes bite you in the rear. Catholic can put up a lot of points really fast. W&L has been stingy on giving up points this fall. I don't think Catholic can stop W&L, so they will need to outscore them. Hard to do in Lexington.
Catholic 31 -- W&L 49

Hampden-Sydney        Guilford
The marquee match up for the week. Yes, H-SC has had Guilford's number for a long, long time. Yes Guilford has looked good winning some games and looked bad in others. But all of the Quakers' struggles have come on the road, and this game is in Greensboro. I'm sticking with the Quakers in this one, but I expect it to be a good match.
H-SC 31 -- Guilford 35

Going to be 68 and sunny in Farmville on Saturday. I recommend the game be moved to HSC to avoid the HORRIBLE weather pending in Greensboro. Thoughts ???

That'll be a steady diet of Mr. Kyree Koonce then. Good luck with that. That young man is a stud if he's not worn out. He's had a lot of touches for a true freshman. According to the H-SC website he's at 205 touches on the year. Over 170 of them have come during conference season (or since the bye week). Hasn't slowed him down yet, but I've got to think he's feeling aches and pains.

For comparison purposes, Marshall Hollerith for the Generals, who does most of the inside up the gut yeoman's work in the backfield, has 131 touches so far. He's also listed as 15 lbs bigger than Koonce and a junior. Hollerith got 209 touches in 2013, less than 190 last year, and even if W&L plays an extra game this year I doubt he gets over 200.

Guilford's De'Eric Bell is approaching Koonce territory, with 177 touches so far but that also includes almost 35 punt/kick returns.

What's my point? Koonce is either super tough, super lucky, or he's due for a tough game. I don't know which it is, but he's on track for over 250 touches this year. That is an awful lot of contact, especially for a young man "listed" at 185lbs. We all know the listed size is probably a bit of an exaggeration, so we aren't talking about a bruiser.

We grow them tough in Virginia. Lets not go the path of baseball are start counting touches like they do pitches, that would ruin football like it has baseball. I get your point but I don't think it really matters. Most carries in one game by an HSC back is 52, Koonce is no where close, he'll be ok.

Baseball hasn't been ruined. It's perfect for putting me to sleep. Put on baseball game, fall asleep on couch. Wife wakes me when she goes to bed. Once baseball season is over I actually have to fall asleep on my own. Can't remember the last time I managed more than a couple times watching the batter scratch himself and readjust his gloves. Somewhere in between they throw a pitch, but it seems the real action is how the T.V. crew fills the time trying not to show the batter struggling with his jock itch.

Nah. Dog still loves me. She'll wake me up and tell me to take her out when my wife goes upstairs. My wife can't get rid of me that easy! ;D

Tracy Powers vs RMC I do believe.

you are correct. Mr. Ferguson had many touches as well. baseball is the sport that ruined him for his senior year.
minus that knee injury his records would have been even more impressive.
