congrats on the win. the quakers looked solid. hsc had their chances but the fumble inside the 5 yard line did them in.
good luck this week vs. E&H. play your game and your quakers should be ok. i don't think 9-1 odac, with the ooc scheduled played, will be good enough but I'm pulling for you.

Jk

Congrats on winning the odac championship. finish it off and keeps the fingers crossed for a home game. will be interesting to see how the pairings fall.

Tiger Fans

lets come together this week and pull for a victory in ashland. playing for pride only and sending the senior class off with a victory over their arch rival.

Thanks TFA2. Proud of our student athletes this fall. W&L has won the ODAC in all 3 men's fall sports, football, soccer and cross country and finished first in women's cross country, second in field hockey, and in the semi finals of volleyball and soccer. Been a good fall for the Generals and I'm looking forward to how the men's soccer and football teams do in the NCAAs.

Hoping to take care of Shenandoah this weekend and give ourselves a shot at a home game. If the game is within 10 hours driving of me I'll probably drive up to see it.

If W&L wins Saturday, who do you see as potential 1st round matchups, assuming no significant upsets this weekend ?

I gave this game up years ago when a good W&L team was sent 10+ hours on a bus to Hobart in an unlucky pairing.

Here is who has clinched/likely to clinch and is within 500 miles:
JHU
Cortland (likely), Alfred (less likely) E8
Franklin HCAC
Hobart (unlikely), RPI (possible) LL
Albright (likely), Del Val (unlikely)  MAC
Salisbury (likely), Wesley (possible -- likely C) E8
Mount Union (likely), JCU (unlikely) OAC
Thomas More PAC
Berry (likely), Centre (unlikely) SAA

Here is who has clinched/likely to clinch and is outside 500 miles:
Wheaton (IIAC)
Norwich  (NE)
SJF (unlikely, 501 miles) (E8)
Dubuque (Iowa)
St. Lawrence (likely) (LL)
Framingham St (MASCAC?)
Albion (likely), Olivet (unlikely) (MIAA)
St. Norbert, Monmouth (MWC)
St. Thomas (MIAC)
Western New England (possible), Salve Regina (possible) (NE)
Wabash (likely), Depauw (possible) (NCAC)
Lakeland, Benedictine (out west)
Linfield (NWC)
Hendrix (possible), Chicago (unlikely) (SAA)
La Verne (SCIAC)
St. Scholastica (out west)
Huntingdon (USASAC)
UW-Oshkosh (WIAC)

Of the likely Pool B/C candidates, I really only think Wesley will be in range. St. Johns, Witworth, UWW, UWP, the Texas mess, are all out of range. The SAA candidate is almost certainly going to be paired with Huntingdon, so that takes one good match up out of the way. I think W&L is likely to get Cortland, Albright, Salisbury, or Franklin. I'd hope they would get any of them at home if they are undefeated, but you never know how the brackets will go.

What I do know is I'm likely to be wrong and I probably left a few possibilities out of this list. I did put conferences on where I could remember them, but I don't know the New England or West Region conferences all that well.

Thanks, tfa2.  Quakers are playing well.  Would agree the fumble at the one was key.  GC broke HSC's back with the 85 and 78 yard TD passes.  I think GC deserves a playoff spot, but realize how the system works.

Just a couple of small changes for the sake of accuracy. Obviously they're all still way out of range.   ;)

What do you guys think of another USAC-ODAC first round with Huntingdon and W&L?

Looks like we're going to get one, but in a different kind of football. W&L and Methodist paired in the first round of the NCAA soccer tournament. I'm assuming that is at Haverford...

that'll be a long ride for Methodist

welcome to pool c, it can get ugly and it appears 2015 might be the most challenging year yet. saturday's results will answer most questions, but count on the west to eat up majority of the spots. hopefully one will be left for gc if you guys beat e&h, although does not look promising at this point.

W&L at Shenandoah game notes are up: http://generalssports.com/sports/fball/2015-16/releases/Shenandoah_Notes

A couple of interesting things. W&L is 2-1 against the Hornets but the home team has won all 3 games. Doesn't bode well for the General's trip to Winchester. W&L needs 295 yards to break the team record for most yards in a season, 7 yards to break the most rushing yards in a season, and 28 points to surpass most points in a season. The offense has been potent.

W&L also has a chance to be the first ODAC team to complete a 7-0 conference season. W&L was the last team to complete an ODAC sweep, in 2010, but that predates Shenandoah joining the conference. With Catholic leaving next year, and no announced plans to expand, next year might be the only other chance for a team to go 7-0 in conference for a while.

... I also personally don't think a game by game comparison of scores is always valid ... coaches have different philosophies and the ebb and flow is different based on so many factors...

Only valid when it helps GC?  I mean that whole ebb and flow is different based on so many factors.
