As I said earlier, it was said tongue in cheek.  Of course Wesley's a fine team ... everyone knows they are.

welcome to pool c, it can get ugly and it appears 2015 might be the most challenging year yet. saturday's results will answer most questions, but count on the west to eat up majority of the spots. hopefully one will be left for gc if you guys beat e&h, although does not look promising at this point.
tfa2, it's already getting ugly.  All we can do is try to win and see what happens.  Last year might have been better!     Lol

you need salisbury and mhb to get beat and that could happen

Actually I disagree. What Guilford really needs is Hardin-Simmons to lose, UMHB to win, and Moravian to stay behind them. That would put them, most likely, top of the South "C" leader board as UMHB gets the "B" and H-SU and ETBU fall behind them in the South rankings.

Being first on the board from the South is the absolute best thing that could happen for the Quakes, other regions be darned, because it gives you the most time to be compared.

Getting in front of Moravian was a real good first step though. Pulling for the Quakers and Generals this weekend!

Everybody on the Pool C bubble needs Salisbury to lose and put Wesley back into Pool A.

Won't matter a whit to Guilford if they can't get to the table.

I like D3football.com's mock bracket! Would love to see W&L get their first ever home playoff game. Sitting at 5 in the South they are going to be pretty borderline. Regardless, they need to win this weekend first. No let up Generals!

From last week:

RMC 24 -- 17 Bridgewater -- Bridgewater has packed it in. Close on the losing score (35-14)
E&H 35 -- 24 Shenandoah -- E&H was vicious in the first half. Close on the losing score (54-21)
Catholic 31 -- W&L 49 -- Catholic wasn't good on offense or defense. Close on both scores (52-33)
H-SC 31 -- Guilford 35 -- H-SC couldn't score. Guilford punished them with two big TDs. Close on the winning score. (33-20)

Predictions for the weekend. Good luck to your Generals. a victory might bring playoff game to Lexington.

Here's hoping.

W&L at Shenandoah. Despite an H-SC fan vote for Shenandoah being the most talented team in the ODAC earlier this season, they are a paltry 1-5 and just got shellacked, again. Of their 5 conference losses, only once have they been within 17 points of winning, the 38-33 loss to H-SC. Oddly enough they won by 17 over Catholic. W&L should run all over Shenandoah, the third worst rushing defense in the conference, and that's before facing the Generals. W&L wins 49-28.

H-SC at R-MC. R-MC has won two straight and comes into the game with momentum for the first time this season. H-SC just got put in their place by Guilford. H-SC has struggled in The Game recently. This year there are no excuses. Either H-SC gets fired up for their rivalry game and comes to play for the sake of beating a rival, or we just have to accept that H-SC no longer considers this something special on their schedule. A schedule this year that came in below expectations with a second straight hammering in the Gentlemen's Classic, a heartbreaking home loss to W&L when they got out desired on the door step, and an away loss to their long time whipping boy Guilford. H-SC is a better team, but will they come to play? H-SC wins 35-24

Catholic at Bridgewater. Both these teams are simply bad. They are stuttering to the finish line with 4 and 5 straight losses respectively. Both teams have struggled to even be competitive, though both almost reared up and ruined Guilford's season. How these two teams both played within 3 points of the Quakers is a complete mystery. Bridgewater has no offense and Catholic has no defense. I'm thinking Catholic's Tutone wills his team to victory in his last game. Catholic wins 35-17

E&H at Guilford. The only really interesting game of the bunch. E&H just demolished Shenandoah, perhaps exorcising the misery of their outing against W&L. Guilford is desperate for a win to keep their Pool C hopes alive. I think Guilford is a step above the Wasps and playing at home, with their season at stake, should motivate the Quakers to put the Wasps away. Guilford win 35-24

One point worth making that I hadn't realized. Guilford has gone 2-1 in 3 point games this season. They were edged by the Generals and just barely nipped two of the worst teams they faced in conference, Bridgewater and Catholic. Interesting how much of this season has hung by a thread for a team that I thought would really dominate the ODAC. 9-1 is a ton to be proud of, but they were as close to being 10-0 as they were 7-3 with two hideous losses.

If Guilford does win this weekend, Coach R will have gone 2-8, 5-5, 6-4, 8-2, 9-1. Only one way to keep it going next year. Impressive.

I think that is great improvement, just have to toughen up that non conference schedule. It may be a little touch considering the distances that need to be travel and with the Old ACFC, MAC, and CC teams only having 1 non conference schedule, its the USA South or head to the South or Midwest for games.

Given Guilford's restraints, I doubt they will change up their OOC too much.

It's a budget issue, really.  Only game I see any chance of a change is Averett, but usually SVU or Ferrum.  GCQ seems to be locked into Greensboro and Methodist ... both intrastate schools and we have played them every year since they started football ... late 80's for MU (too busy to look up) and 1997 for GCP.

jknezek

W&L beats Methodist 3-0 in the first round of the NCAA tournament in the other kind of football, keeping the ODAC dominance over the USASAC going...
