E&H has a good offense, but 400 yards is something the MC usually doesn't give up. The Wasps scored 46 today, but one was a defensive TD, went for 2, had a short field after a muffed punt and scored, and had a long TD pass after another muffed punt. I know it's a slippery slope, but let's look at it as E&H scoring 24 without MC's help. I'll take that. Just happy to be 2-1 and winning 3 in a row against E&H.

I get E&H losing. I always understand E&H losing. I don't understand RMC losing to Catholic. Lots of turnovers I guess. Still, I expected more from RMC. Not really turning out to be the ODAC's week. HSC played UWP tough, though it looked like UWP stayed on the bus until the second half. Still, give HSC's qb his due, the young man threw about 60 times and I don't think he had a meaningful pick unless he had one late in the game after I turned it off.

We'll see if W&L can hold on leading late in the third. Don't expect much from Shenandoah at Hobart. Guilford at Davidson could be interesting. I expect Bridgewater will beat Apprentice.

Generals see out CMS, something they couldn't do last year at home, by a 24-14 score. Once again, I think we got too conservative in the 4th quarter and barely moved the ball, but 3 interceptions throughout the game by CMS gave W&L a lot of breathing room.

Going 2-1 over the first three games was what I hoped for. But that JHU loss still stings. That game was definitely winnable. Off week next week before heading down to an E&H team that has definitely underperformed expectations through 3 games. We will see if W&L can take advantage of the Wasps right at the end of September.

Credit to the CUA defense on at least three, maybe four plays: 1) On RMC's first possession a 3rd down pass completilon became a fumble when CUA defender took the ball out of the receiver's grasp. This led to CUA's first TD. 2) On what looked like a completed RMC pass for a TD in the end zone the defender fought for the ball and got an INT. 3) On what looked like another RMC TD pass the CUA defender knocked it out of the receiver's hands for an incompletion. 4) An RMC receiver was in the clear with the ball headed for the end zone and somehow lost the ball (maybe a defender knocked it out of his hands but, honestly, I didn't think there was a defender there). CUA recovered.

Not gonna win close games when those things happen.

haven't seen any posts on here from Olinemom in quite awhile just wondering if she is doing ok ?

She posts in some of the other forums sometimes I think. OAC and WIAC seems like around the Stagg when UWW and UMU play. Not much of the Stone Station crew posting in here in a long, long time.

thank you for the response much appreciated always enjoyed her hospitality along with everyone else from Stone Station at the Stagg Bowl games I was actually trying to maybe drop her an email or something to say hello any info on how I might do that?

You can try through this site I guess. Use the members link at the top of the screen, then use the search option on the top right. Search on her username and see if email is an option or try and IM her through here. Best I can tell you.

It was the HSC special teams that stayed on the bus/dorm. 3 muffed punt returns (2 lost), a fumbled punt snap, and another HSC PAT missed directly resulted in 17 UWP points.  Uwp had scoring drives of 60, 58, 47, 27, 17 and 4 yards.  Most of these short fields were due to mistakes by HSC.  Either dropped punts, dropped punt snaps, or illegal procedure penalties gave away field position or took away HSC opportunity.  This was a game HSC should have won.

On a positive note, all of HSC errors are correctable.  The offense looked better yesterday and the pass protection was solid. They have two weeks to prepare before ODAC play begins. I'm confident in this team.

I drove from Greensboro to Davidson last night with a couple of friends to watch the Quakers take on the Wildcats.  My sister, also a Guilford graduate, and my brother-in-law met us for a pre-game tailgate.  That was fun.  Then, the game started ...

True to their FCS status, DC had bigger, stronger lines.  GC could never establish a running game ... 35 yards on 31 carries, I think.  We did have almost 400 yards passing, but it was not a balanced attack.  Couple all this with a blocked punt that bounced perfectly into a streaking Wildcat's hands and the 2nd quarter spelled defeat.  GC battled, but the difference in size and speed became evident.  The Quakers will, however, fare well in the ODAC.  C'est la vie.

You are spot on, HSC could have won this game; special team play just handed UWP 21 points; offense much improved, defense played tough.
Somehow HSC must improve the run game; once again, HSC loses the second half; a trend that will not go away. I'm feeling like we will compete fairly well in odac play if we can limit the turnovers and improve kicking game.

JK; congrats on the win. W&L is the most impressive odac team to date and probably would be ranked had they pulled the upset on JHU.

Hard to look past Bridgewater for most impressive. They finished their upset and are undefeated at 3-0. We will see what happens when they travel to HSC.

I'm pleased for the Generals. The JHU game ending was a let down, but they bounced back with a vengeance against Sewanee, who is 2-1 right now though I don't expect them to keep the pace, and then had the long trip and took advantage of CMS. I don't think CMS is as good as last year, but that was still a nice win.

E&H gets 2 weeks to prep for the option. With most teams that would concern me. But E&H is always so undisciplined I'm less concerned than I probably should be. Their offense looked darn good against Maryville even if the defense looked like air. I wish I could go to the game, but I'm coaching my twins in soccer this fall and the games are Saturday a.m. No way I can make it up in time.

HSC looked pretty good in the first half. But I'm having a hard time taking a team seriously that has rushed 76 times through 3 games for a grand total of 108 yards. That's an anemic 1.4 ypc. HSC is going to win some games, but I don't think you can win the ODAC if you can't at least threaten people with a run now and then.

I know how that sounds coming from a W&L fan, but the Generals have thrown for 185 yards through 3 games, averaging 6.85 yards per passing attempt. You have to at least wonder if they are going to pass. Right now you don't have to care if HSC is going to try and run.
