Congrats on the wins.

I guess W&L and SU are the only two that control their own destiny, correct ?

All others need help, E&H & BC eliminated, correct ?

I know HSC must win out and needs a W&L loss. Not sure how GC figures into the mix.

Either way, last two weeks in ODAC should be fun to watch.

So with 2 weeks left in the season we still have 5 teams with legitimate shot to get a share of the title (though the ODAC doesn't share and there would be some crazy tie-breakers if we end up with some combination of 3 or 4 teams at 4-2). On the flip side, Shenandoah and W&L both still control their destiny and could end up at 5-1 and take the title outright.

As a W&L fan, getting road wins over H-SC and R-MC is a big deal. R-MC has been well prepared for W&L's offense the last couple years and it shows. The last time a W&L/RMC game was won by more than one score was 2012 and several, including this year, came down to the last drive of the game.

Shenandoah at H-SC has to be the game of the week. Neither have to win to stay in contention, though a loss pretty much guarantees a conference championship can only come through tie-breakers. Both have big final week games so the winner sets themselves up for what could be a monster Week 11 game.

Guilford hosts R-MC in a must win for both teams to stay in contention. Both teams have been playing well and I expect that game to be competitive. Loser will pick up a 3rd conference loss and will drop from contention. If RMC and H-SC win, The Game could become a monster battle for a shot at the conference title, at least through tie breakers.

W&L hosts Bridgewater, a team that has been notoriously difficult for the Generals over the years. Last year they put paid to W&L after the disappointing loss to RMC. W&L and the Eagles have split the last 8 meetings, 4-4, with the home team winning each of the last 6 years and the visiting teams winning, each by 1 point, in 2009 and 2010. W&L needs the home/home pattern to hold this year to keep their chances of winning the conference out right in play.

In the irrelevant game of the week, E&H will face Apprentice. This will be Apprentice's 4th straight ODAC opponent and 5th overall of the year. No ODAC team has scored less than 50 on Apprentice and only H-SC gave up more than 15. The average score has been 56 - 12.  Can E&H hold up the ODAC honor?

ODAC picks offensive WL RB Spence as player of week for his 199 yard rushing effort. The ODAC official the chooses this had tough choices this week.

The GC QB Miller throws for 429 and 4 TDs and the HSC QB Cobb throws for 448 and 3TDs.

But if I had a vote I would have given the recognition to both of the HSC WRs.  Johnson went 12 for 204 and Morgan 7 for 209 on the day. It's rare to see two receivers over 200 in one game.

Congrats to all for fantastic performances.

I think you mean FY Josh Breece. He did have a monster game. You have to remember, RMC had only been giving up 126 yards per game rushing before the W&L game, Breece alone went for 199 on 27 carries, averaging 7.4 per carry. Breece is also now the ODAC's leading rusher by 140 yards, his 7.2 ypc leads by .5 ypc, and his 14 rushing tds is 5 more than anyone else. He also has 7-10 more carries on the season than the next 2 guys, so there is some mitigation there. For comparison, M Barker, the third leading rusher in the ODAC, went for 47 yards on 14 attempts against R-MC, averaging just 3.4 ypc. The reason I used the third instead of second leading rusher is Tre Frederick is on RMC.

But yeah, some huge offensive performances this week.

My mistake. Yes. I meant Beece. I don't know where Spence came from.

HSC QB had quit the day as well vs. E&H and his two main receivers went over 200 yards, each.
I'm not into this player of the week stuff, but I'm not sure how anybody else was much better.

There were certainly some great performances Saturday ... I saw GC QB Miller go 24 of 35 for 429 yards, 4 TDs and zero interceptions.  He spreads the ball around a lot, so I doubt any one receiver had as many yards as the Tigers WRs.

Belated congratulations to Quaker DT Jarrod Russ (So., Guilford) who was named to last week's TOW:

"Russ made five tackles, including a game-high 1.5 sacks, in Guilford's win vs. ODAC leader Shenandoah. He had a hand in forcing D-III passing leader Hayden Bauserman into four INTs and season-lows in passing yards and TDs"

In a three way tie the ODAC uses point differential as tie breaker. In a four way tie they will compare the records of each tied team against the other the use head to head as tie breaker.

The last 4 way tie was in 2014. HSC, GC, EH, and BC were all 5-2. HSC was 2-1 against the three. GC was 2-1 against the three and BC and EH were 1-2. Since HSC and GC were still tied the ODAC tie breaker was head to head against HSC and GC. Thus HSC won the title.

This year could get weird too.
1 loss ODAC champ possibilities:
Either WL or SU wins ODAC if either wins out.
If HSC wins out they need WL to lose 1 game.

There are tons of possible scenarios for two loss teams. Most would be ties.

And, frankly, we have too many impact games to play. After this weekend you can start playing with the 2 loss tie breakers if you want, but going in to this weekend it would be difficult. Obviously one team, Guilford or RMC, gets eliminated this week. No one else really gets eliminated with a loss, though H-SC would be close with losses to both Shenandoah and W&L, one of those teams is likely to reach the h2h criteria. RMC (loss to Shenandoah and W&L) and Guilford (loss to H-SC and W&L) already sit in that position. But again, one of those goes down anyway this week.

I really hope W&L, H-SC, and RMC win this weekend, because it sets up the W&L/Shenandoah and H-SC/RMC games for a lot of fun.

I'm with you; having meaningful games last week of season would be fun and good for the ODAC.
If anybody thinks they can predict what might happen I think they are fooling themselves.
I sure hope HSC looks at the W&L vs. RMC game films from the past two years to get an idea of how to slow your boys down.
A study of the W&L defense this past Saturday could also help HSC in The Game.

This is one example of a two loss team winning:
SU beats HSC, WL loses to BC, RMC loses to GC, SU then beats WL, GC beats EH, and then HSC beats RMC.   Then its a 3 way tie with GC, SU, and HSC.  I'm not sure who wins!  You're right  until games are played this weekend it's a waste of time to try and figure it all out.  After this weekend things should be a lot clearer (MAYBE).

Nice job, guys ... I was there.  In d3football's Team of the Week:

"OL Jacob Best, Ty Shwallon, Dean Wooley, Steven Gordon, Matt Ingram, Guilford

The Quakers' line helped the offense compile 568 total yards and score 49 points, yielding just one sack in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference win at Bridgewater"

If WL, HSC and RMC all win you're right it sets up a great weekend. If they all win this weekend, it sets up for the following:

WL would be champ if they win.
HSC would be champs if they win and WL loses.
There would be a 4 way tie if WL and HSC both lose.  The winner of the 4 way tie would be WL as they would be 2-1 against the other 3, HSC would be 2-1 and RMC and SU would be 1-2 against the other three. HSC and WL would be tied and WL has head to head.

I know there are a lot of scenarios but it's fun to look ahead!
