Looks like the weather should not be an issue this weekend.  Winds less than 5 mph, sunny, but chilly. Should be a great day for football.

I see the WL/SU game going one of two ways. It's either a close high scoring game or WL wins in a blowout.

RMC/HSC the only thing that scares me is jk picks HSC to win. You have not picked the Tigers since at least before the WL game. Heck I'm not sure you have picked them to win a conference game all year!  Why start now?!

Regardless, I see HSC clicking on offense scoring close to 40. I see RMC in the mid 20s.

Not to sound insensitive but I have put no thought into GC/EH. My initial thought is GC wins then EH fires their coach.

This is true. I have been dead wrong on H-SC almost all through the conference season. When you are wrong you are wrong, though I will say the way they rolled over like dead fish while playing W&L didn't help. Anyone who watched that game wouldn't think much of H-SC. They must have really just flopped that game and I never adjusted from that being the exception to their season. And it shows in my miserable standings in the Pick'em.

As for this weekend, sometimes you just have to throw in the towel. I'm waiving the surrender flag. And frankly, H-SC just has to show some pride when The Game comes around one of these days, right?

Wait a couple of days, mull it over. There's still time for you to pick RMC.

I get it though. HSC did lay an egg against WL. But WL layed one against EH, RMC layed one against CUA, heck BC and EH layed one practically every weekend. Teams have bad days.

Yes, the weather looks GREAT for The Game: Sunny, game time temperature of 41-42, and winds less than 5 mph.  Go Tigers!!

D3football's mock bracket pairs W&L with UMU should W&L get in. Personally I think they are wrong. I think you'll see a four team pairing of Berry, Huntingdon, W&L and Witt/Franklin. Witt/Franklin/W&L and Berry are within 500 miles, leaving likely cost saving in the second round.

If cost saving in the second round is a mandate from the NCAA then we might indeed see something like that, but I think there's a chance it's not as much right now.

You would certainly know better than me, but I think over all you don't change much sending W&L to Witt in terms of competitive "fairness" for a first round pairing and you do most likely benefit by losing the flight. So there isn't really a downside, and short of Huntingdon beating Berry, which requires a flight anywhere, it's all upside.

Who knows? W&L needs to win to get in and, frankly, an ODAC championship is really what I'm concerned with. I have no illusions about W&L's place on the national scene right now.

If HSC plays tomorrow like they did vs. SU, they win.
If they pull another CNU and/or W&L deal, they get beat by 17 to 21 points.
Come on boys, show some guts.

Go Tigers/Beat Macon

D3blogs picks RMC because "The Yellow Jackets' strengths (rushing and rush defense) exploit Hampden-Sydney's biggest weaknesses."  Don't know where Mr. Tipps got his info but according to ODAConline.com HSC is 2nd conference in rushing defense.  First in rushing defense in conference games only. HSC Biggest weaknesses?  Rushing - yes. Rush defense - no.

20-0 lead halfway through second quarter. Shenandoah is struggling. W&L stopped themselves on one drive, but Shenandoah has only moved the ball on one of their three before turning it over on downs. Generals looking very hungry, especially on the offensive line.

D-BAT

W&L 34-7 with 11:11 left in 3rd qtr ... the perception is that SU cannot WIN the BIG game.  :(

Final Guilford 42, E&H 38

"Two wild and crazy" halves today in Greensboro.  The Wasps won the first 21-0 and the Quakers the 2nd 42-17.   Guilford overcame 711 yards of offense by Emory & Henry to win with 2:11 seconds to go ... the final score was GC's only lead of the game.  The Wasps were done in by 2 fumbles, 3 interceptions, several unsportsmanlike penalties and a 78-yard kickoff return by De'Eric Bell, who also rushed for 3 TDs and set a new Guilford season record for rushing TDs with 13.  The Quakers had 373 yards offense, but it's rare to give up over 700 yards and still win.

Guilford finished 5-5, 3-3 and E&H 3-7, 1-5.  Great way to end the season for the GC Seniors.

Congratulations to W&L on their ODAC championship and to RMC for winning The Game.

W&L left no doubt today. They controlled the game from the first drive to the last. 613 yards of offense, averaging 9.1 yards per play. To be fair, 95 of it came when W&L was trying to run out the clock and Shenandoah let Breece get free for a huge run. But Bauserman was held to 6.8 yards per pass and 2 picks, while Shenandoah's offense was bottled up when it mattered. The only real weakness W&L showed today was in kick coverage, where Shenandoah had several really nice returns.

Proud of the Generals for winning another ODAC title. Especially winning games against H-SC, RMC and Shenandoah on the road. 2 losses, each by 3 points at the end of regulation or in OT, seemed to just make the Generals more motivated. And since the E&H game, the W&L defense has been brutally good.

Defense wins championships. Shenandoah just doesn't have enough right now. The only team with a .500 or above record Shenandoah beat all season was RMC, and even RMC hung almost 40 on them. Every other above .500 team they played scored more than 40 points. It's really hard to beat good teams if you know they are going to score 6 or more tds every time.

Bauserman is really good. Even today he had an amazing completion rate, but there just isn't enough around him. Especially on the other side of the ball.

I don't think any single team has every made as big a monkey out of my pics in one season as H-SC did this year.
