Offense does not look in sync and their d has had lots of time to prepare. Bad combo. Stupid unnecessary block in back on punt return.

Play calling has gone like this. If Breece is on the field we run up the middle. If he's not, we run a speed option. A pop warner team would have picked up on this by now.

This is hard to watch.  I didn't anticipate this on offense.  Bad play calling and a complete lack of confidence.  He wants 15 yards a play instead of setting big gains up.  O doesn't trust him either.

Have we run a sweep? Have we used the slot? I don't get it. There is a playbook with more than 3 plays, right?

Tried the sweep twice and got stuffed and hasn't gone back.  He wants big yards instead of setting up with 3-5 yard plays.  Only passes have been in obvious situations.

Coach A would use the reverse if teams were over pursing to the play side...

They clocked the ball with a TO inside the 10 of dickinson on 2nd down with 50 seconds left!!!!!  Oh my, not prepared for the moment or confident.  He is coaching scared.

Coach L has no confidence, he is competing against the past instead of competing against todays opponent.  Have a plan and run it.  If it was a bad plan learn and move on.  He is letting the moment beat him.

Better to learn in a win than a loss but this was not good.  Good special teams (minus the muff) and good defense.  Offense...

I've never seem them win opening on the road!!!  Something Coach A could never do!

I'll be at Sewanee next weekend. They say teams make their biggest strides between week 1 and 2. Hopefully I will get to see. Not a pretty win, but they ground out a W and that is the important part.

And I agree. Some of the special teams and all of the defense looked very good. The offense, the pieces are there. So much talent and a whole lot of experience. It just needs to sync up a bit I hope. Getting a W should boost confidence all over the place and they will come out and play much less tight.

That was never going to be in doubt. But we got the road win to open the season. They aren't giving out style points, so we'll just have to see how it goes from here. 2 more silly season games to straighten out the wrinkles.
