Hug-  I guess your saying at 260lbs that automatically makes them a better player just because of their size. Things like speed, strength, agility and intelligence don't figure into the equation. If size is the only factor and if  this were the case I would have to agree with you .
Where did you pull the 70% factor out of? I don't want to sound phallic , but if size was the only thing that mattered  in football or life  a great majority of us would have a serious issue to deal with.( that's a joke guys).

Wow. No love for us from the voters.  Is that the second week in a row we have won and moved down in the poll?

Well the polls don't mean much seeing as d3 has playoffs. ;D  But many other teams had impressive wins that must be taken into consideration.  Don't worry bcsportswriter, if Bridgewater does well in the playoffs they will go up in the polls.

Beat W&L and win the ODAC.  Go BC

I just took a look at your D3 FFL for the first time. Found it funny the quakers got no love there either. Vogelbach and Barnette have been pretty consistent as far as stats go. Vogelbach had a hiccup this past week with turnovers but on a down week still had about 440 total yards and 2 tds and barnette had 13 rec, 200 yds and 2 tds...

this put their stats on the year at:
PASSING              GP-GS   Effic Att-Cmp-Int     Pct   Yds    TD   Lng  Avg/G
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Josh Vogelbach      7-6   135.37 300-174-14   58.0 2193  23  77  313.3
Chris Barnette        7-7   570.40    1-1-0       100.0   56     0   56   8.0

RUSHING              GP-GS  Att Gain Loss  Net   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Josh Vogelbach        7-6    45  153   87   66   1.5   1   17   9.4

RECEIVING            GP-GS  No.  Yds   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
---------------------------------------------------------
Chris Barnette        7-7    64  849   13.3   9    44 121.3

... those are some numbers I wouldn't mind seeing every week on my team. and yet no one has taken a shot on 'em. Just as observation  ;)

I think most sportswriters would recognize that Ohio Northern did something to deserve passing Bridgewater. Whether Augustana did is up for debate -- then again, I've spoken to more than one coach in the area who has seen the Augustana/Catholic video and said Augustana would win the ODAC hands-down, so I'm not worried about them passing Bridgewater per se.

Just saying that winning two weeks in a row and dropping a few spots is something you dont see everyday.  As a friend put it...only in Division III. :)

E&H Dad-  Just talked to one of the Defensive lineman that was lined up most of the day across from the 190 lb. guy that you know so well.  The Bridgewater player said that your son was the toughest lineman they had out there yesterday and the Bridgewater guy is an ox (listed at 285, strong as an ox).  Takes alot of heart and determination to just block someone 100 pounds heavier than you, much less get the oppenent to praise him like that.

I'll be doing some 2005 player rankings this week (top 10 at each position) ... we'll see if Josh or Chris make them.  Their numbers are good ... but I've found 10 WRs so far with 9 or more TDs (through 6 games) ... but Barnette's YPG could get him there.

Be checking the Division III Fantasy League thread this week for the top 10 lists ... currently, Bublavi and Martin (W&L) are in the top 10 for WRs!

Since 2000, the ODAC is 8-6 in the playoffs.  The CCIW is 7-5.

Bridgewater has all eight wins, while Augustana has one.

Hands-down?

I can see BC falling to 20. But Ferrum should have more votes than they do and should at least be in the top 30.

narch

jeremyboyzz - i apologize if you are typing sarcastically, but if not, you are starting to sound like the ferrum fans...what did fc do this weekend to warrant moving up more significantly than the 4 spots they moved? they had a bye

Jeremybozz

Methodist beat CNU which made Ferrum's win by 5 over Methodist more impressive.

Who'd you talk to, Favret. I'm sure he wishes he could run the ball like Augustana. At least, run the ball the way they did against Catholic.
Augustana would not beat BC, and heres why. The Auggies can't throw the football. Stopping the run is what BC does best. If you can't throw it, you can't beat BC.

Looks like Championship Week in the ODAC is upon us!

Comes down to two things in my eyes:

1. Turnovers
2. Converting Big Plays

If W&L doesn't force multiple turnovers, they may lose.
If BC doesn't stop the big pass plays, returns, etc, they may lose.

The defenses will win or lose this match-up! ;)

Now, Go Eagles! The "Drive-for-5" Straight ODAC Championships has come!
