I would feel better about Saturday's game if my Karma was not zero!

There you go.  I bumped you up one.

Okay ... where are all those BC fans who, early in the offseason, were saying how if Lewis (Sr.) and Highfill (So.) were even going into the season opener, that Coach Clark would go with the younger guy.

Pulled from a DN-R article today:

((( "Bridgewater College's quarterback hunt ended Saturday when Clark, the Eagles' coach, named fifth-year senior Jacob Lewis the starter over sophomore Jeff Highfill.

"Really, from a coaching perspective, I was choosing between good and good," Clark said Sunday. "At this time, I decided I was going to go with the older guy."

"Statistically, over the whole summer, they were about even," Clark said. )))

I do believe I was the only one saying he'd go with Lewis if that were the case.  ;D

You'll be fine on campus, even after dark. Those are campus security call boxes, like on most campuses that care about student safety.

Pat,
Honestly I saw a woman sobbing after being held up this fall.. the area is not the best in the ODAC.. for someone coming from Shen. it may be a culture shock.

*I'm not trying to knock CUA but to say "you'll be fine" may be misleading.

Kid, W&L will be lucky to go 6-4 again this year.  Got some weak teams on their schedule.  Alfred? Centre?  Case Western Reserve?   Swanee?  Come on man, my high school team could give these 4 teams a run for their money.

Hey, I didn't speculate what Clark would do I just said that myself, personally I would go with the younger guy if they were even.  I still would.  (Now take into account that I have had very limited opportunity to see either of them play so I'm not making a judgement about who is better.  I'm just saying if they're the same, why not go with a guy you can build your offense around for three years?)

All that said, Mike Clark is a recent national coach of the year and has done what 99.9% of the D-3 football fans would have said was impossible merely six years ago in turning BC into a nationally respected program.  So whatever he decides I'll get on board............

Skoal- Stick to writing about drinking beer. What you wrote didn't make any sense. Cheers.

I dunno Kid? My take is that Lewis is a better passer in our system and Highfill runs the option better "RIGHT NOW". I think Coach realizes that a crisp passing game is more important to winning the first 2 games.

I am perfectly fine with either one and agree with his decision. 5th year senior experience out of the blocks is probably a better decision. We need to go into the ODAC undefeated to insure a chance at a Pool C if we trip up in the ODAC anyway.

Also when Clark went with Lutz we were building a team, now we are just reloading. ;)

Hug,
That thing has to have been made in Japan. My pup tent has as much room as it does!  If it were 20 ft. longer and 3 ft wider, I'm in. Gotta have room for the poker table you know. ;D

SkoalTrain... don't let the recent run of success go to your head... W&L has consistenty put up strong programs that have given even the mighty 'Water some runs for their money.... let us not forget the Eagles of the late 1990s before we dismiss the Generals
Can you smell what the CHEEKS is cooking??

BCSportswriter,
The Bucs will announce first cuts Tuesday.  Jermaine had 1 tackle in their last game.  One of the starting backer , Jeff Gooch, hurt his calf, so that should be good for JT.  He's gotta make it on special teams though.  I saw earlier this month after practice and he was feeling good about his chances.  He was much more comfortable going into camp this year.  Class guy on top of it all!

Llama,

I'll own up to being wrong about the quaterback situation.  But I do remember a cirtain someone refering to Highfill as "the franchise" last year at Catholic.  ???  I am not a mind reader, but from what some of my friends on the team say Lewis won the job straight up.  :)  Heres to another good season of BC football.

Alright, man, but I lived on campus for three years and in the neighborhood for two more and I survived just fine.

I can't help the Winchester culture shock but if you're getitng on the Metro then you're already going to get a good dose of it on the way there. A seven-minute walk isn't going to be any worse than that.

You are correct RM; however, Highfill has not graduated yet now has he? "The Franchise" term still stands, he's just got to wait his turn to prove his worth on Saturday's. I believe there is a purple team of Mountainous proportions who have proven this theory to be quite successful. Lets compare his 2 year starting numbers post gradutation and see where he falls out. Bottomline is 2 capable QB's at BC will be an assest, guaranteed!
