Hey, hey hey! Welcome to the ODAC guys.

GCOL - yw I'm glad to see the Quakers haven't had too many injuries this year.  Will anyone miss the RMC game?  Also, too bad the students were still on fall break when you beat W&L.  I hope there will be some enthusiastic fans for both home games versus the Yellowjackets & the Wasps.  Good luck!

Hello...........Helloooooo..........Hellooooooooooooooooooooo

Man there is quite an echo in here, wake up, its Championship Week! ;D

Who is going to win the W&L vs. BC battle, and why?

Looks like its BC's balanced offense with running emphasis against W&L's pass based offense with excellent special teams. W&L's D has given up run yardage, BC's D gives up  passing yardage. It all tells me that points will be scored in this game. My question is: Which team's D steps out of character and shuts down the others' offense?

My Sunday prediction = BC by 24 pts
My Monday prediction = BC by 17 pts
-after the weather update today,
My Tuesday prediction = BC by 6 pts.

I believe BC will pull the game out but it will be a fight. W&L has enough skilled players to put up points and keep BC honest. The deciding factor for me was W&L's roster size. Can 67 young men put it all on the line for 60 minutes while BC shuffles between their 1's and 1 1/2's starting in the first quarter? W&L can hang for 3 quarters, but its the 4th that will ultimately decide if they can dethrone the Eagles. ;)

Abnrgr - haha I knew it. First by the email address you have listed and a couple times you said some things in here that made me question it. How is he? I heard he was trying out for a few arena teams?

They did it against H-SC on H-SC's homecoming, they'll certainly be able to do it on their own parents weekend.

abnrgr,
Was you son Brian Person?  I played with him.  I came in, in the fall of '02.

GCOL

hasanova,
I think everyones healthy enough to play this weekend, and I cant wait for i tto get here.  Just like they showed last sat tho they can definately win so I'm gonna be ready for a ball game.  Especially if we cant stop the turnovers.

Llama,
I think its gonna be a tough game but i think BC will win bc after playing both teams once our offense started moving the ball BC was the only team who matched our scores and kept us from comming back or retaking the lead.

abnrgr- I remember your son Brian at both GC & Havelock (I lived in New Bern while he was in HS).  A fine player & an equally fine young man.  He gets my "vote."   ;)  Good luck to him.   Do you still live near  Cherry Point?  I used to go by there all the time to go to Morehead City, Beaufort or to catch the ferry to Minnesott.

I'll stand by what I said earlier this week...

  • They'll Get Theirs... Sydney's WR's Drew Smith and Brian Rolander are averaging a combined 218.6 receiving yards a game ... they had 206 between the two of them in the BC-HSC game.  Don't be surprised if W&L's WR's Jack Martin and Colton Ward get their combined 205.9 receiving yards.  Rolander is HSC's big play receiver at 22.1 yards a catch.  He had 3 catches for 69 yards versus BC (23.0 yards a catch).  Martin will most likely do the same against BC, coming in with 18.7 yards a catch.  Unfortunately, BC's big-play receiver will be on the pine because of an injury for the sixth straight game.  Blake Warring, through two games, averaged 27.5 yards a catch on six receptions.

  • We'll Get Ours... Bridgewater is averaging a league-best 295.8 rushing yards a game (6.8 yards a carry), while W&L is getting a fourth-best 87.3 at only 2.4 a carry.

But here is why I think BC will win:

Player
Pos.
Rush YPG
Yards Per Carry
Marcus Washington
RB
103.5
7.6
Winston Young
RB
92.5
10.6
Jacob Lewis
QB
37.7
6.8

Substituting (BC) or no substituting (W&L) got both schools a win at H-SC.

GCOL - I understand how anxious you are to get it going Saturday with RMC.  I played soccer at GC & sometimes I couldn't sleep all week looking forward to a big match.  It should be a good game.  Both teams seem to be hitting their stride & both teams know how important this game is to a successful 2005 finish.  Heck, the winner could wind up tied for 2nd (or mathematically 1st!) in the ODAC if they finish 4-2 & that would be great.  I'll definitely be there to root you guys on!  Good Luck & Go Quakers!
