Somehow CUA made it on the NFL website. At the  bottom of the page they are mentioned in stats of the week.

Looks like "the man" (or "the kid") has been tracking my online activity, or lack there of.  Here's hoping my boss isn't as :on the ball" as Kid.....

Here's what I've been thinking:

Is it strange that I really deep down believe that this year's team has the best shot to make a L  O  N  G run in Nov/Dec since the '01 team but at the same time I'm very nervous about W&L and CUA even though I don't think those two teams are really that good?!?!  Bottom line, BC needs to start putting complete games together and dominating like they should.  It was the last quarter of the season the Stagg Bowl year that BC started to dominate as well if you look back at the scores (actually the RMC and CUA games that year after we struggled with HSC, EHC, and W&L).

hassanova trenches and GCOL......we are the only one pulling the players at GC.

Keep up the heat.

I have been hammered on this board the last couple of years.  We must push those birds of prey and felines next year. I want to help put Skoaltrain into the back seat of his car. with a forty in his hand :)

haha, yeah I have seen you on here since I have been posting. Glad to see more support for GC. In the past it was a BC/HSC board... but much like the conference itself, it seems there is some parity amongst the posters support here.

Heck, the winner could wind up tied for 2nd (or mathematically 1st!) in the ODAC if they finish 4-2 & that would be great.  I'll definitely be there to root you guys on!  Good Luck & Go Quakers!

In fact, strange as it may seem, only Emory & Henry has been mathematically eliminated from the ODAC automatic bid to the NCAAs (at least as far through the tie-breaking process as the head-to-head tie-breaker).

Who gets the NCAA bid if the final standings are as follows (and this is possible)?

Bridgewater           4     2
Catholic                   4     2
Hampden-Sydney    4     2
Randolph-Macon       3     3
W&L                         3     3
Guilford                   2     4
Emory & Henry         1     5

There is no way to see who voted for what in the polls, correct?

I am interested to see the number of people who have voted after seeing both Ricca and Vogelbach and who they voted for.

algernon... where did you come up with those numbers? just who you think will win? or who you want to see win?

HSC would get the bid if BC, CUA and HSC are 4-2. In the event of a tie, the bid goes to the conference team that has been OUT of the playoffs the longest. So if W&L wins this weekend and ends up tied with BC they get the ODAC automatic bid.

Despite BC's lack of pass coverage, I can't see them loosing two.

In the event that BC, CUA, and H-SC finish 4-2 ... H-SC would have beaten CUA, CUA would have beaten BC, and BC would have beaten H-SC ... which means that the Tigers would go to the playoffs because they haven't been since 1977.

If any three schools finish 4-2 this year, and each has beaten another like the above scenario, then the school which has had the longest drought from the playoffs will get the bid.

Here are last playoff appearances by each ODAC school:

Guilford: none
Washington & Lee: none
Hampden-Sydney: 1977
Randolph-Macon: 1984
Catholic: 1999
Emory & Henry: 2000
Bridgewater: 2004

Unless BC beat catholic.  I am guessing that even if there is a 3-way tie, if one of the teams beat both of the other teams (in this case BC has already beaten H-SC) they will get the bid.  but it all depends on how the heck algernon got BC to 4-2 and catholic there too

What I've given is a possible standings at the end of the season.  It includes some upsets, which are part of sports.  Catholic only gets to 4-2 by winning the rest of its games, including the game against the Eagles.  It's neither who I think will win nor who I want to see win.  It illustrates the idea that the only team that has been mathematically eliminated from getting the ODAC automatic bid is Emory & Henry.

Thanks for the reply, 'kid'.  So, the first tie-breaker is head-to-head and the second tie-breaker is "longest drought from the playoffs"?

Another possibility.  If Bridgewater beats W&L but loses to Catholic and Randolph-Macon, we could have a scenario where both the Eagles and Generals end the season with 4-2 records.  Let's assume that all the other teams get a 3rd loss and the Eagles and Generals are the only teams with 2 losses.  If they're the only teams with 4-2 records and I understand this correctly, the Eagles would get the ODAC bid for winning the head-to-head against the Generals even though the 2 teams have tied for the ODAC championship with 4-2 records and the Generals have the longest draught since last trip to the NCAAs .... "longest draught" is the second tie-breaker.

Well I'm glad we won't have to worry about this whole headache of figuring out who is going to win the ODAC and go to the playoffs seeing as how BC will be 6-0 in the ODAC this year!  ;D  There's always next year kids!  ;) :D  (Just ask HSC and JD.. oh wait.. check that.. just ask HSC next year!  :P)

longest draught? i think they sell those at the north park lounge... its about a 3 foot tall "glass" of I.C. Light w/ a spigot at the bottom....
