Quote from: Tigerfan on November 17, 2024, 04:20:18 PMNah, I didn't say or imply the Jackets used any timeouts to score, merely that they could have taken a knee in the last minute and chose not to.  I was laughing about occupying the sportsmanship moral high ground, as I would be delighted to switch places. As far as the radio goes, I would also prefer to listen to my friend Rob Stanley.  His insights from his years of coaching and playing career at Macon were great. I don't think we have a lot to disagree about.
If I came off a bit pissed..... well it's because I WAS!! Those guys SUCK! I lived with Rob Stanley for two years at RMC and played against him for four years in HS when he played at PEA( Now Fuqua School) and I at Southampton Academy in 3 different sports and I can tell you, pound for pound, there has NEVER been a tougher opponent nor a close friend as he is to me to this day! That being said, when he, Cannon Watson, and another guy who did HSC Football and basketball before these two clowns  were EONS better in regard to the substance AND the candor!! A TON of my friends and my own son( HSC Class of '20) went to HSC and we're all good hearted friends about this rivalry.... But those dudes need to GO!! They're an embarrassment! If I came off too rough I apologize but whomever made that change in commentators is an IDIOT!

W&L rolled over Wilkes today. 1-1 all time in the Father-Son rivalry.

Sadly Shenandoah has thrown 4 picks and is getting destroyed by Moravian. Still confused on how W&L lost last weekend, but when you don't get off the bus until the second half, these things happen.

Good luck next weekend R-MC!

Final: Moravian 35 - Shenandoah 14.

I caught a fair amount of the Generals vs the Colonels. I want to say something clever about rank, but am coming up empty. Good win for W&L.

RMC downs Washington & Jefferson 38-22. The Jackets fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter, but scored the next 38 points before giving up a 4th qtr TD, then held on for the final six minutes. Games are hard to assess when following live stats rather than watching or listening. Mitchell Johnson carried the rushing load for RMC gaining 115 yards on 27 carries with two TDs. QB Dante Casciola had 90 rushing yards and one TD. He threw two TD passes, one of 61 yards. The Jackets held the ball for 34:13 to 25:47 for W&J. Next week RMC goes up against undefeated and 8th ranked Salisbury, who beat King's 33-13.

I was there and it was a scary first quarter until Pedro put Mitchell" THE HAMMER" Johnson in and the runnng game started to click! Nothing against Kwesi Clark or anyone else- " THE HAMMER" is just the straight ahead, tough runner we needed today against a tough W&J defensive front! I also think the defense fed off of that same style today and looked as good as I've seen them all year! After the first quarter we really took it to those guys!  I also think our defensive coaches adjusted well after a shaky first quarter and took away what W&J does best! It was a COLD RAW day today in Ashland and I think our kids made themselves known today nationally as a tough, resilient bunch! Next week is a totally new challenge for us against a very tough Salisbury team that runs the ball with authority! It's back to the drawing board for our coaching staff to try to stop the Seagulls in their own house... a tough task!... GO JACKETS!!

Playing W&L regularly should help R-MC next week. I will say I thought Salisbury was the best team W&L faced this year. I can't remember the last time a team put over 600 yards of offense on us. It's going to be a big challenge. Good luck next week YellowJackets! Doing the ODAC proud again!

A good day for the Jackets!!  As I tuned into the Marty Wilson show, we were already down 14 and I had nightmare visions of Cortland last year.  Sounds like some nice coaching to change things up, nice defensive adjustments and great execution of the ball control running game.  The D3 pick em' crew didn't give RMC much chance in this game.  Someone on another board is being very adamant in saying that RMC has been disrespected by the D3Football poll voters all year.  I'm not sure I agree, but RMC has the chance to keep playing.

Really proud of this year's team and as always appreciative of Coach Arruza.

Yeah. The loss to Berry, at home, was not a great look and didn't look better as the season went on. Hard to be disrespected as they stayed in the poll even as the team that beat them took a few losses. Anyway, it's been a nice season again for R-MC and they face a true test again this weekend.

If memory serves, RMC dropped out of the top 25 after week #4, so not in the D3Football poll for the last 6 weeks of the season.

W&J was ranked #17 in the D3Football.com Top 25 and RMC was the first team in the ORV group. NPI had that basically reversed with RMC #15 and W&J #23. So NPI did a better job in this case. I wonder how NPI did in the other 15 games played yesterday. Not sure how many of the D3 pick 'em guys are also Top 25 voters, but only one of the six picked RMC to win.

Yeah. I think I was thinking more about NPI than the poll, so maybe they were a bit disrespected toward the end of the season. That Berry loss was a dead weight.

I don't know how accurate he's been so far in the playoffs, but apparently Logan Hansen has R-MC at -.1 next week (if I read the post on the CCIW board correctly). I like to see our league teams show well, so hopefully he's right.

RMC was unable to capitalize on a couple of Salisbury turnovers in the first quarter, then fell behind 28-0 before scoring a couple of 4th quarter TDs. Final was 35-14. Congrats on another great season for the Jackets.

Salisbury is a beast this year. Saw that week one. Good season RMC. Congratulations on another ODAC championship and Sweet Sixteen.

Didn't realize that former W&L coach Scott Abell left Davison to become head coach at Rice. FBS is going to be a big change from scholarship FCS.

Still, quite a coaching success story.
