Skoal- Stick to writing about drinking beer. What you wrote didn't make any sense. Cheers.

Stillborn:  I guess you're right.  I listed the really weak teams and not the ones that I thought you would lose.  My mind isn't quite right planning for a large outing at Stone Station so I agree with your above statement.

Beer!  It's what's for dinner!

SkoalTrain... don't let the recent run of success go to your head... W&L has consistenty put up strong programs that have given even the mighty 'Water some runs for their money.... let us not forget the Eagles of the late 1990s before we dismiss the Generals

New_Error:  Not much goes to my head.  I have a lot of empty space in it.  But, I'm also a realist.  I will be in Lexington on Friday night and also there early for the tailgate and the game.  We can discuss after that game about "heads."  I'm not counting you guys out nor have I in the past.  I was there when you took us to double overtime two years ago.  Was it two years ago? Anyway, it is always quite a game but I'm quite sure we'll come out on top.  If not, no biggie.  I don't have money riding on it......

Hug

I believe I was the only one saying that Lewis would be the man. kid I think it was you who said Lewis was third string at best.

Now I'm going to take away a karma point for lying :)

Yes, it will.  I fully agree with you, but was pointing out that I wasn't the only one with high expectations (which still exist for both Lewis and Highfill as well as the rest of the team). ;D

SKOALTrain - I'll be down in LexVegas for the game against the Water for the ODAC championship on October 29th.... and in your regard to the opponents this year, let us not forget that

1) Alfred was 8-3 last year...
2) Centre avg'd 7 wins over past four years in the tough SCAC
3) Sewanee - well, GENERALS have always had their number
4) Case Western - consistent .500 program...

Would love to see your bush league VA high school take down any of them, let alone compete with the Gennies...
Can you smell what the CHEEKS is cooking??

GO GENERALS....

Nasty, Like Cheese on Tang

Wow, no love in the "Around the Region" rankings this pre-season......

That's fine, as somebody else pointed out earlier Bridgwater has always played better from the underdog role.

One thing though Pat Cummings.  In reference to last year's BC-HSC game you stated that, "H-SC grabbed defeat from the arms of victory in 2004......".

Huh?....I mean, weren't you at the game?  BC beat their overrated butts just like they do every year and just like they will again this year.  There was no contorversy last year, no question.  LOL to your top 5.  (Hint:  if you'd just pick us over HSC you'd be right EVERY year.  Other than that, you're on your own.......)

Go Eagles!!!

Outsider14

pat cu goes out on a limb again this year (2nd or 3rd in a row) predicting h-sc to best bridgewater this season. brave pick yet again, especially w/ this crowd. good luck to all in their first week (i have a feeling i may be a bit busy for the rest of the week and might not be able to post). BC: do the damn thing.

I think Cummings was referring to the game in 2003, because last year was far from controversial.  It was one-sided.  Interesting around the region column though, Pat.  I know everyone on here is excited for Saturday.  GO TIGERS!!

Hug

Pat Cumming's

Mid-Atlantic Region Top 5
1. Delaware Valley
2. Hampden-Sydney
3. Christopher Newport
4. Moravian
5. Franklin and Marshall

Way to go Pat two of the teams are going to start out 0-1 (CNU, Morovian) and one of them is going to lose in week two (F&M)!! But I'll deal with it.

miz

Dubvee75- I agree that Pat's comments would have been relavent for the 2003 game in Farmville.  Maybe that was what he was referring to?

Gotta admit that's the first time I've seen someone call the SCAC "tough."  The OAC, WIAC, etc. it ain't.  :D

As for Sewanee - a lot of teams have had their number recently.  They were 2-7 in '04, and haven't been above .500 since 2000.  The Tigers seem to be having problems recruiting.  There are only 49 players on this year's roster, and only 12 first years.   The conference, with only seven FB-playing members, cannot afford to lose anyone else.  They are fortunate to have Austin College join when Rose-Hulman leaves in '06.

We'll see about that, snake.

GO CAPS!

Pat Coleman

Brilliant analysis -- when two of the top five play each other in Week 1 it's almost guaranteed one will lose.  :D
