I know this isn't ODAC ... but this guy's stats are impressive:

Augsburg quarterack Marcus LeVesseur - as a junior last season - put up these numbers:

130.6 passing yards a game, 12 passing TDs
102.4 rushing yards a game, 10 rushing TDs
14 kickoff returns for 291 yards (20.8 yards per KOR), one of which went for 71 yards

Okay, so his team went 2-8  :P ... but the eight losses were by an average of "only" 12 points, with four of the losses being by a touchdown or less.

Just one of the interesting things I found while researching my d3 fantasy league player rankings :)

Dude if you, as a coach, put your QB as your kick returner you should be fired.

I agree with Kid that Washington is the best football player in the ODAC.  I've thought that since the Trinity game in the playoffs his frosh. year he could end up being better than Davon.  I still think he's that talented, but he's yet to put it all together for a full season.  With Wiston out for a while, the Eagles really need him to.

I believe Van Williams stats include a game or two in an arm  cast

..not to mention a metal plate in his arm and this was during the playoffs.  Van is one tough mofo.

I voted for Ricca as well, despite being a BC fan he's the only player on that list that would "scare" me if I were playing against him.   His talent alone could upset any team in the ODAC.

i'll admit i homered and voted marcus because of his all-around ability. a VERY close second was bublavi of catholic. i just remember watching him the 2 times i played against him and he came down w/ EVERY ball thrown his way. the mud-bowl we played my junior year up at catholic, when we were having all kinds of trouble completing passes, he made some eye-popping grabs above 1 or 2 defenders. did the same thing down in newport news my senior year. i remember wanting to go up to him after the game and ask him what he's doing in division 3... he'll be a huge asset for coach clark at catholic this year.
ricca is a very good QB at this level as well, but completing 61% of his passes when 40% of his passes are screens/hitches to conrad singh won't push him over top those other 2. (plus i just have that little rivalry grudge against h-sc players  :)
"99% ain't good enough"

That was my thought about Ricca as well.  Mostly hitches and screens, the HSC receiver's yac make his numbers look good. I voted for Wood. He's the real deal, bannana peel.

I was just curious to see if anyone had any insight on E & H, they are plaing Marietta this weekend and I was going to watch.  From what I gathered on their website, they look to be returning a pretty good passing offense.  I was just curious how things were shaping up with Montgomery at the helm and what type of team I could expect to see this weekend.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks and good luck to all teams competing this weekend.

Llama,
I was just pointing out that I was not the only one who predicted Highfill at quaterback last year.  You don't need to point it out every time that someone who knows more about football than you and I combined says the same thing.

The bottom line to how deep we can go is two fold.  First, if the defense does not dictate the style of play to our quality opponetts we will go about as far as we did last year in the playoffs.  We need to dictate to our opponetts' offenses.  Second, we need to eliminate the mistakes.  If you look at our losses and the scare against RMC last year penlties and turnovers killed us.  The sacks against McDaniel and CNU didn't help either.  We cannot keep making our job more difficult by loosing yards to stupid penlties.  If we can do both of those things then BC will contend for the South Region title.

Ok...I've OBVIOUSLY been slacking and this may have been covered, but I'm curious.  How will the fact that BC is playing a club team, and losing a varsity game, affect them this season?

religion_major

It is just like we were playing a nine game schedule as far as playoffs are conserned.  It is just the same as if we were playing a DIaa, DII or NAIA team as far as DIII is stats and rankings go.  That being said, it will not be the same type of test as playing one of those type of games would be.

Rugby Guy

I don't like the fact that it says I only have 38 posts.  I've got WAAAAAY more than that.  I've been officially demoted.

There is a decent article about the ODAC, with some quotes from Coaches Clark and Favret, in todays Richmond Times Dispatch.  There is also mention of E&H and W&L.  I would link the story but it is absurd how long the link is.  Just go to www.timesdispatch.com and click on sports.  I think you folks might enjoy it.

Rugby Guy

What's absurd is that they picked HSC over BC!!!  What a joke.  And I used to respect the Times-Dispatch.
