Rugby Guy, it's a deal.  I'll even give you a karma point!  lol

On a side note, I'm a Guilford alumnus and I know from experience that you'll find all sorts of personalities among their current students, faculty and alumni all around the world.  In reading some previous posts, however, it seems the school is often the victim of a certain amount of misinformation.  Granted, some observations by  our readers have full or partial merit, but not all of them.  I will openly admit the student body often leans to the left, but that does not mean there are not elements of every imaginable point of view and the acceptance - and encouragement - of a healthy amount of open discussion and tolerance on campus.  The school is no longer funded by the Society of Friends and is, therefore, an independent academic institution.  It is safe to say, however, that Guilford is still guided by many of the basic Quaker principles of the founders, but these beliefs are not a mandate for the student body and staff.  I, for one, always felt free to think and act as I saw fit.  Peace.

hasanova,

I know I'm several pages behind, but a point should be made.  After you criticize someone's spelling and/or grammar, you should make sure you get it right from that point forward.  Page 186..."great program the past 5-6 years..."   The numbers five and six should have been spelled out.

Actually, that depends on who you ask. AP style says to use the numeral when dealing with distances and spans of time, regardless of whether the number is below 10. The difference between numbers and spelling out is not grammar, it's style.

Pat, thanks for the extra style information on distances and spans of time, which this case was.  I'll remember that guideline from this point forward.  Don't worry too much about me, though, I have a couple of documented items on reserve if this flares up again.

Rugby Guy, in my book, we're still at a draw and I admire your initiative, but look what we've done ... we've pulled the Big Guy into the fray!  lol  Peace.

"WWPD."  Perfect!  PAT is also an acronym for Point After Touchdown, so the marketing possibilities appear endless.  El Jefe de Futbol may already be taken when he expands to a Latin American soccer base in d3futbol.com, but I'll have to check. lol

By the way, I saw a bumper sticker at Guilford's game last week that said "What Would Scooby Doo?"

BC fans who have read the "Playoff Projection" piece, don't get too discouraged.  I'd be shocked if we had to go to Texas to play. Going to Ferrum would seem to be the more logical match up.  And I think those on the commitee would see that as well.
Of course, if/when Ferrum gets beat by CNU, who knows what might happen. We may host Ferrum.

does anyone do whether Trinity and DePauw will end up playing each other since they did not play sept. 24?  If Depauw would win that game they would be SCAC champs and BC wouldn't have to worry about trinity or it could move BC up to having a home game the first round.

Congrats to Junior Todd Woods becoming Emory's most prolific passer with 6,136 career passing yards....also making 6th on the ODAC list.

Ricca 29-54 with only 201 yards??? Good lord why throw the ball that much?

Good work Emory....football is year round....keep building!!!

That's old news.  The game will not be made up.

Yes, congratulations to Todd Woods.  He's had a very nice career at E&H.

Keith Ricca's older brother, J. D., had a very efficient game last Saturday versus Dickinson.  I understand why you pass if you're 26 of 38 for 428 yards with seven touchdowns and only one interception, but Catholic is a different story.  Not only was Keith Ricca 29 of 54 for 201 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions, but the team story is even more telling.  Two other Catholic players went 12 of 21 for 122 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception.  That means the combined total for CUA was 41 of 75 for 323 yards with zero touchdowns and three interceptions.  If you saw the game in person or read accounts of the game, you may think the Cardinals should have tried to run some to use up time.  One of the late interceptions, in fact, was returned for the winning touchdown.  As The Ohio State University's Woody Hayes always said, "Three things can happen when you pass and two of them are bad."

Should be interesting to see how BC responds to having already clinched the ODAC Championship with 2 games to go.  Im pretty sure that this wasnt the case in any other year because of teams only having one loss at this point in the season.  With two games to go and the regular season all locked up, does Clark put players on the bench early in games?  Do some regulars not get as much action to make sure injury doesnt happen?  Will this come at the price of losing some momentum or rythym heading into the playoffs?  This is the time when coaching really plays a big part...im sure Clark will know what to do.  Any opinions out there on what you would do?
